One of the employees told me the pharmacy was about to close for lunch and would reopen at 1:30 PM. I completely understood and told her that was totally fine. I only asked if she could quickly check whether my wife's insurance information was already in their system so I would know if I needed to bring it when I came back. She checked and told me the insurance was not on file and that we could add it later when I returned. I thanked her and began walking out. However, as I was leaving, she started complaining and shaking her head in frustration about my question because they were about to go to lunch -- even though the pharmacy was still open at that moment. The reaction felt unnecessary and unprofessional, especially since I was polite and respectful. When I addressed her behavior, she responded with "I'm very sorry for you," which only made the interaction more uncomfortable. Several of her coworkers witnessed the situation. Because of this experience, I decided to transfer the prescription to Walmart Pharmacy. I simply prefer to give my business to places where customers are treated respectful

Robbie the checker went and got another cart for me and put all 4 bags of ice in another cart and helped me out to my car since I had two carts. He loaded all the groceries in my car for me. I offered a tip to him and he would not take it. Yes it's a busy store, the shelves sometimes get empty due to the influx of people. Every time I come to Safeway I am greeting by friendly employees. Even the pharmacy staff rocks. They always get what I need in. Once I complained about the price of the prescription and they told me what to say to get the Doctor to re-write it for brand only. Instead of $60 per month I only pay $32. I love our local Safeway and it's the employees that deserve 5 stars! I would love a Safeway gas station in the area.
