I haven't felt this at-home since Thanksgiving '98 when Grandpa and I road a tandem bicycle to Olive Garden and filled our bellies to the brim with bottomless salad and breadsticks! (He's passed away now - gluten allergy) When walking into the store, you may shed a tear, because at this Ace hardware, you're family. The kind staff and I always hold hands as I browse about the store...and NO it's NOT because they're concerned for my safety!! Stop being silly, ya silly goose...Maybe a wrench, maybe some rock salt, heck maybe even just a random bottle of hot sauce...the options are endless! They have everything, at very reasonable city prices. Once I've satisfied my nearly insatiable craving for browsing the aisles of doorknobs and extension chord, I check out, exchanging a knowing smirk with the cashier...and on my way home I KNOW I'll sleep better tonight..:because "Like a good neighbor, Ace Hardware is there"!

The clerks that where knowlegable are gone replaced with younger clerks who have no modivation, do excersizes at check out counter, took 3 people to return an item and repurchase of same item in different size. If you need help, they could care less excluding one new older woman on 12th Street that was great. I will now go to Holly Street Ace which is further. But called them today and they had the same item (which was discontinued at 9th and 12th Street Ace's) and offered to order in additional quantity I needed to finish a job. Great job for Ace on S. Holly items were there when I went to pick up.

We discussed previous treatments, current product usage, and skin goals. She explained her plan of care and then we got down to business. The treatment was nothing short of spectacular. Not only did I have to keep checking myself in the car mirror after we were finished because I looked, WOW, but I was so much more relaxed thanks to her meditation audio and crystal work. I shared my harrowing tale, and he let me know that they did have some snake repellant in an aisle by the register that worked pretty well. I picked up a small container of "Snake-a-Way" with my other items and was ready to arm myself against future snakes. Ace Hardware gave me coupons for future trips and prices were comparable with other local hardware stores.

He didn't even look at me or the product. Just told her not refund. As I was walking out he gave me a look that wasn't pleasant. I always shop here as opposed to the big box stores to support individually owned business. My return was small, but none of my future purchases will be at this ACE store. K did not "Ace" the customer service vibe by a long shot. Not a good feel to be corrected impatiently. I needed help, after all. It appears others don't like their service at this True Value and I'd heard this since my first hardware trip in Denver about 14 years ago. I thought not long ago that the ownership had changed. After the previous day's experience, I was willing to try them out, regardless. Having a bike shop upstairs that I needed to visit was icing on the cake. It may be shouting into the void, but I want to share that True Value hooked me up with parts, advice/instructions, in a prompt encounter that made me feel heard and valued. This'll be my first hardware stop on the Krameria to Yosemite section of Colfax from now on. Thank you. 4.5 stars.

When I asked if there was someone else who wasn't too busy to help a customer, this "manager" did the same shrug and "I don't know" AND THEN TURNED AWAY FROM ME. His name badge said Andy or Andrew. Unreal! Like a Twilight Zone episode! Never in my life have I experienced retail staff as rude and incompetent as this. I could see why he was "too busy to help me" though, since the store was torn apart and seemed to be getting renovated while they were open - it was a huge mess with junk all over the floor in the aisles, and trip hazards everywhere.
