An awesome experience. I have actually been on the Big Red Bus twice before this, but this time was the famous pub crawl. Enjoyed complimentary beers and waters, but you were also allowed to bring (small) coolers with drinks and food. Stops were the Tilted Kilt (where we started), Gallagher's in Long Beach, Nadine's Irish Mist in Sunset Beach, and the Auld Dubliner in Long Beach. A fun time was had by all. Just fun even sitting in the open air and sunshine on a beautiful day on the top deck of the double decker bus. I don't know how these guys pack so much fun into one short three hour event, but the secret must be in their kilts! read more

I've done two different events with The Big Red Bus. I did the Christmas Light Tour back in December and over the weekend I did the Cinco de Mayo Pub Crawl. Both events were very different, but SUPER fun! The Christmas Light Tour is a family event with cookies, hot chocolate, a Christmas carol sing-a-lon, Santa driving, and a tour of all the lights in Belmont Shore and Naples Island! It's well done and a fun event for a family or to snuggle and see Christmas lights with your sweetie, which is what I did! The Pub Crawl was a lot of fun! I had never done one before and was a little nervous. The crew from the Big Red Bus made sure it was a fun, safe, and chill event. They had good music, drinks, and food on the bus. You could actually hear each other on the bus despite music, which I appreciated! The guys that ran the bus; Mike, O'Toole (hilarious dude), and I believe Trevor did an awesome job of taking care of the folks on the bus, checking in with us on the location, and making sure folks didn't get too crazy. There was a nice variety of pubs downtown and on 2nd street! Although, i may have just enjoyed riding on the bus, because they made it such a fun/relaxed environment. As the owner of a business (Red Leprechaun) I have had several experiences as a rider and as a business owner using their service. It was fantastic! Peter made arrangements, followed up and even helped us try and grab some more riders with a quick Facebook shout out. The driver was helpful (Steve Burt) and drove us for a very smooth night. We had coolers on board and they helped load and unload. On time, (early) prepared and called in advance to see if we needed any extras, etc. (Tyson) I love the Big Red Bus and will use them for any and all of our future events. Call our restaurant any time for a direct reference. We used their surf bus and it was perfect, the seats all faced each other, allowing to mingle with more than one person. This was my experience: James- From the beginning, when I called the first time, James was very professional and helpful in coordinating the event. Being that this is his industry, he was able to suggest ideas and routes that would be great for the group. Tyson & Driver- On the night of the event, Tyson and our driver were the nicest and best! Everyone onboard thought these guys were great. They helped keep everyone safe, happy and having fun. I spent many Tuesday nights back in my drunken college days on this double decker red bus. I think I blacked out, 95% of the time. I am not sure if they still have their Tuesday night extravaganza, but what it consisted of was full of drunken debauchery for only $10. Pick up was at Shannon's on 2nd street at 10pm every Tuesday. You were greeted by two nice big men in kilts, and a budlight, AWESOME! All these drunk asses from Shannon's (myself included) piled onto the Big Red Bus and we always sat on top in the open. How nice, they always had blankets up top for every seat, because it was freezing up there! The bus took us down to Shannon's on Pine, where we had about 45 minutes to pound beer and cocktails (oh gosh we are on a time limit, order shots and shooters and lets double fist!), and hop back on. Note, a few people get left behind because they are too drunk or stumble to another location, so of course there is a little more room on the bus, and more Budlight to drink. So the next stop? Was always a surprise, as I think a few times we ended up at Clancy's or the Dubliner or, wait there is my inability to remember because I blacked out. And then after another session at the "mystery bar" we hopped back on and it took us back to Shannon's on 2nd. This was the 2nd time that my wife and I went on the Big Red Bus (BRB) Sunday Fun Day. We had so much fun the first time we wanted to share it with friends and family. This time we organized 40 people private party Sunday Fun Day Bar hopping tour of Long Beach Area. We went to 3 bars in 3 hours. Our two favorite was Mad Dogs and Shenanigans. Both had great appetizers and great beer /drink specials. James organized everything for us. He also took care of us giving us drinks on the bus ride for all if the guests and keeping the jams going for the dancing on the 2nd level. Last Saturday night I was invited to a friends birthday on the big red bus!! This was the very first time I had been on one of these especially for drinking. We were a party of about 15 and everyone had plenty of space upstairs. Fortunately it was a closed top since it was raining a bit at night. As soon as we started moving, the alcohol started flowing. I am not sure who supplied the booze but it was mainly cheap-ish beer like tecate and michelob. Someone had wine but I passed on it. Also someone supplied music and everyone was attempting to dance while being drunk and trying to balance themselves on a moving bus. Try it, that is not easy!! We stopped at 3 bars listed in no particular order. Sgt. Peppers, Gallagher's and Gas Lamp. We were given about 30 minutes at each stop and everyone had such a blast. The dude who was our host was very nice and came into each bar we were at and gave us a 10 minute warning. The best part is that we did not wait in any line to get in!! I was a tad nervous going into Gas Lamp since I hear they have fights every once in awhile but had no issues. The bus will make you a little uneasy, especially when it starts up. It feels like an earthquake and it might tip over. I know it's about 20 years old but the thing looked like it would break down any minute. Wonderful time had by all. read more

It, or more correctly they, are funky London double-decker buses. There are four of them. Two are open topped, they are the best and one isn't actually red. It's more of a British, stiff upper lip, Prince Phillip, mustard yellow but who cares? They are fun, groovy and well worth the trip. Oh yah, the drivers wear kilts. The tour provided us with cookies and yummy hot chocolate, plus a bit of history on Belmont shores, and the LBC. Both my kids enjoyed it, my teenage son was pretty impressed with the houses. I had a lot of fun with my family on this bus for Father's Day. If your dad likes beer, this is a great option for him on his special day. The bus picked us up at what used to be Tilted Kilt on PCH and took us to 3 Irish pubs. Food (french fries, quesadillas, etc.) is included at all 3 pubs, but you have to pay for drinks separately. Before drinks, the total cost was $30/person. This was a lot cheaper than other bus brewery tours I researched (although alcohol was included in others). The breeze felt great at the top of the double decker bus on a beautiful summer day. Make sure you bring sunscreen and watch for street signs! One of my favorite parts of the experience was coming home after the last pub; At every red light, we stood up to dance. The hosts were very professional, kind, and conversational as well. For years I had seen them driving around the city, carrying a busload of HAPPY passengers and I wanted join in the excitement. My husband and I did this pub crawl for our 6th Wedding Anniversary and loved it! All three pub stops had a great atmosphere and a good tap beer selection. All pubs had delicious food waiting for us and had just the right amount of people (not over crowded). On the bus, there was great music playing and they allow guests to bring 4 can drinks to enjoy between stops. Another thing I liked about this ride is they allow you to stay behind at any pub you choose. Although we stayed the whole ride, I think it is great to have the option of staying at a pub if you are enjoying it too much to leave. I was definitely glad we took the whole ride because we if we had not we would have missed the fun of the red light game! Overall great experience and I would recommend it. I helped a friend book the Big Red Bus for his birthday this past weekend. It was my third time riding the Big Red Bus but my first time actually booking it myself. The entire experience was a breeze. James and Tyson explained everything to a T, checked in with me leading up to the event, and were super pleasant (and funny) throughout the entire process. James even followed up to make sure all went well. Our group was a bit rowdy throughout the ride (to be expected I'm sure) and our hosts were nothing but nice and accommodating the entire time.
