We purchased a several-thousand-dollar Drew & Jonathan Home reclining sectional from Big Sandy Superstore in April 2025, and every recliner mechanism in the set has failed since delivery. The furniture has never remained fully functional for any meaningful period of time. While repairs were technically covered under warranty, the process was incredibly frustrating. Replacement parts took months to arrive, calls to the Lancaster store often went unanswered, and corporate customer service made it very clear they did not care that we have spent much of the last year unable to fully use furniture we paid thousands of dollars for. We simply asked about returning or exchanging a sectional that has had ongoing mechanical failures since the beginning, but after more than a year of issues, we were offered only a $100 store credit. I understand defects can happen, but after repeated repairs, long delays, and dismissive customer service, I would not purchase furniture from Big Sandy again. read more

February 2025 we got a washer/dryer set from Big Sandy Superstore in Lancaster OH. We made our purchase on Sunday and the machines were delivered and installed the following Thursday. Our experience with Zach at purchase and the guys who delivered/installed the machines was exceptionally positive. The installers were fast, professional and made sure the machines were working properly. They even took time to explain the controls before they left. We have purchased some things from this store that were fine, while other items have absolutely sucked. We have a couch that had some cushion issues, and the repairman was vert personable and did a great job. We purchased a swivel chair that was delivered broken. This was a nightmare. We were charged 3 times for the same item, and only with much screaming at the home office did we get 2 or the charges removed. The last charge was supposed to be applied back to our account. The chair was picked up by their delivery guys. The charge wasn't removed because they said the chair wasn't in the warehouse. When they checked, it was. But, we still had problems getting that removed. This brings us to our range. We bought a $4000 range that was marked off to half price due to scratch and dents. It was supposed to be a new range. It was not. It was dirty inside. The day we picked it up, it was pouring rain, so we loaded it up and left. We didn't find out it was used until we got home. More negotiations. We did buy the warranty. We never have gotten the steam tray that wss missing. It was backordered about 2 years ago. We found out why the range was returned. The control board was bad and it wouldn't hold temperature. This was finally deduced about 4 or 5 days after we got it home. Too late to return the range to Big Sandy. The repair guy was up front with us about a big delay in getting the board. I called Kitchenaid and they had one in stock. After I had to get nasty, they decided to send Big Sandy the part. Now, the cheapo chinesium chrome on the knobs is delaminating from the plastic parts on the knobs. My wife cut 3 of her fingers about 5 days ago. I called Big Sandy, but evidently they won't cover the chintzy knobs under our extended warranty. They told me to contact Kitchenaid. After a frustrating several hours, I spoke to someone who sent me on another wild goose chase. This was at Kitchenaid's phone number. The "Chat" feature disconnected me as I was typing up my problem. Then I couldn'treconnect with this worthless feature. I finally found an email address at Pissedconsumer.com. That seems to fit me today. I finally filed a report at the Consumer Safety Board. I won'thold my breath about any action there. Unfortunately, Big Sandy does have some great prices, if you can get past the ding dongs in the finance department. We keep saying we won't go back, but like a dog returning to his vomit, we do. As to those knobs, Big Sandy told me they'dreplace them for us for $219.00, such a deal! I can buy the same cheapo knobs for $50.00 from Amazon. Why would I be stupid enough to reward Kitchenaid by buying new knobs from them? I'll probably never buy another thing from Whirlpool. My nightmare withBig Sandy Superstore began on 8-1-2025 I went to purchase some appliances instead I brought a bedroom set that I feel in love with sales lady had very good customer service. now here's the nightmare bed was delivered 2 weeks later bed headboard split in half so they had to take it back couldn't get a bed for another week 2nd delivery that headboard was damage also so now pretty close to a month without my bed 3rd deliver I was told it was assembled in the warehouse so it was good an it looked good I was excited to have a complete bedroom set after a month that night I notice screws on the floor and the footboard was coming apart I called they store they scheduled someone to come out a week later an I was told they couldn't fix the bed an was advise to call the store to discuss my next option and I did just that now this was probably my 10 th call to the store during this month concerning my bed I have ask to speak to the manager he refuse to talk to me had me on hold twice I even called there customer service number an was told twice someone would reach out still waiting on that call. I did call the store to see what options I had I was told after 4 times an bed still not perfect I needed to return my bedroom set an purchase a more expensive on one of better quality all I could say was What that was 3 weeks ago haven't heard from anybody after being told I would get a call. I will say to appease me 1st delivery I was issued a 50 gift card that can only be used a their store. 2nd delivery 70 credit issue. 3rd an 4th delivery Nothing not even a call. I cant stress to you to read the negative reviews(something I wish I had done) an would not purchase anything from Big Sandy Super Store in Kenwood once you sign on the dotted line your nothing and a nobody to them they are only about making money. I saw a couch online and Big Sandy had it! Shawn was incredibly helpful when we went in and gave us space to shop in peace and kept checking in on us. I fell in love with a couch that wasn't supposed to get delivered for 6 weeks and it came 3 weeks early which was great! Delivery setup was a breeze, the girl was incredibly friendly on the phone. The day before they text you a time frame for delivery and setup and when you're the next stop they text you. I love that I can keep an eye on where the truck is the whole way. They couldn't actually get it in the living room so we had them leave the biggest part of the sectional in the entryway, they tried so hard to come up with a solution but overall they were too afraid of damaging things in the house to get it in. So my husband and I did it and got it in after they left. Overall not a bad experience at all and I'll definitely be shopping again. read more

My in-laws recently made a few purchases at the Lancaster location, Shawn was their sales person from start to finish. He provided them a fantastic experience with very personalized attention. Initially they purchased a new sofa & recliner as well as a queen size bed & adjustable frame. After receiving the deliveries it came to their attention that the sofa & recliner were not at all going to work for their lifestyle. They quickly realized amongst other things that they needed to upgrade back to leather. The items size/color/fit did not work as well at home as they seemed in the store which can easily happen when buying furniture. Upon finding out that they were unhappy with the purchase I wanted them to be very happy with what they had spent their money on or to not have it at all. I called customer service to see what could be done expecting to be met with difficulties. That was far from the case. I was quickly put in contact with the Store Manager, Jeremy who is a very nice guy & a great business person very keen on making sure all of his customers are happy with the purchases they make. I explained to him the situation. They did not want to keep what they had (it was not even being used) & they wanted to keep their business with Big Sandy Superstore. Through talking with Jeremy about specifics he went above & beyond with corporate to make sure that my in-laws were able to return/exchange the sofa & recliner while choosing a new set that was more to their needs & taste. They upgraded to a wonderful leather set with Shawn's help in the showroom & paid the difference on a Friday. By Wednesday afternoon the delivery drivers were at their house delivering the new items & taking away the initial purchase without any hassle. The products are comfortable, durable, & look awesome... but more importantly my in-laws are not only extremely pleased with the purchase they feel very grateful for the special care & attention given to them considering the unconventional circumstances. Jeremy kept contact with me through the entire process, even doing his best to make sure the 3rd party delivery company understood they preferred an afternoon delivery which is what they got. His team, Shawn in particular, were fully apprised of the situation prior to their arrival to choose the replacement items so there was no awkwardness or confusion. Not only does this location have a great selection, Jeremy's team has demonstrated that they can & will go above & beyond for customer satisfaction. Buyer beware, Big Sandy sells you these so called Extended Warranty and then come up with what they call Cosmetic issues. How the hell is a broken vegetable drawer considered cosmetic when the roller is broken and now the drawer is cracked and crooked. I have fought with them for almost 6 months and after nothing gets resolved they say, Well your warranty is now expired. Well it wasn't back in July.I am probably a near 15 year customer and have spent thousands and thousands of dollars in the store. I promise you I will NOT give them another penny of my business and I will make it known on all social media platforms to beware of BIG SANDY's way they treat customers and screwing them over. I guess the loveseat I received is what I sat on at the store, but doesn't exactly feel the same. Delivery people should do a better inspection of items either before pulling off truck or once inside the home. There is a rip in the fabric on the back of the loveseat - which I can understand why - the fabric feels cheap. I had to run out to catch the delivery men so they could come back and take pictures of the rip. I believe I could have gotten something comparable for half the price at big lots!! read more

The gentlemen who sold us the furniture was very nice. Polite. Helpful and genuine. The employees who rang up the sale also were great. I would say one of the coolest parts of the whole experience, this being the first time I've bought from there was the the two guys who delivered everything. It was very obvious that they had been working their A**es off! Yet they were very approachable and kind. Talkative and laid back. Respectful. Very genuine. As a people person that was refreshing. They went above and beyond and that goes a long way with me. Overall completely satisfied with the experience. I'm aware this might not be everyone's experience. But there are a lot of moving parts and dynamics with things like this. But from my brief interaction with them I couldn't be more pleased. Big Sandy is a good company. Two guys but only one carried mattress. He didn't damage anything but he definitely struggled with it. I know that one guy can generally handle a twin Matt by himself. But a guy on each end is much better as to not damage anything knock a picture off the wall what ever. I feel like I'm definitely qualified to make this suggestion I've been a contractor for a major furniture moving company for 32 years. The lady that helped me was polite and knew all about the chairs so she was able to help me find what I wanted. It's a recliner and has everything! It reclines, has lumbar support, it massages, is heated, has lights, beverage holders and has a USB port! And it was on sale! $1058! I figured it would be $2K. I got 12 months same as cash. With delivery which was a little high priced and a 5 year protection plan, it's $125 a month. She did get my address wrong on the paperwork (which I asked them to correct at the store) and they got lost delivering but I was able to see where they were on my phone and they righted the situation and were only a few minutes behind schedule. We were shopping for appliances. We were "just looking" until we saw the prices. A salesman named Doug asked us if we needed any help and we informed him we were Shopping around for appliances. He began showing us some and in a matter of minutes he showed us everything we were looking for and gave us space to look and talk. When he checked back he told us that he looked up the appliances we were interested in and said the price on the microwave is the best price but the stove was cheaper at another store so he would price match it. We ended up going from "just looking" to purchasing a stove, microwave and a dishwasher. I can honestly say we weren't ready to buy but Doug made it such a great experience and gave us such a great deal that we decided it would be crazy not to buy right then and there. If u go to Big Sandy's to shop for appliances, ask for Doug - he's more interested in getting u what you want than in making a sale. Doug needs a raise!!! read more

Bought a mattress and bed frame, almost 3 grand. They delivered the items the following week. The deliver guys set it up and the bed frame motor didn't work. They tell me it will be 2 to 3 days. Its now been almost 3 WEEKS. I've called several times over the past 3 WEEKS and have gotten no where. I call again today and the lady at the Lancaster store pretty much tells me im screwed. I can't return it because the motorized bedframes are not returnable although it has NOT worked since it was delivered. So now I have a 1200.00 bedframe that Big Sandy sold me but they do don't handle any service or returns. I am at the mercy of the manufacturer although Big Sandy delivered it and sold it to me and again IT HAS NEVER worked. Shopping in-store was easy. Found a model that I found on Lowe's website, but Lowe's staff said was not in their system. Better price here also. Continued to shop elsewhere, then called from home to make purchase. Told them I need haul away and delivery for Thursday, not Wednesday, and that my name was misspelled. Had to go back into store to pay. While there, had to correct again (!) that I needed haul away and Thursday and to correct my name, so thatwas disappointing. Testing of delivery updates was great. Delivery came and I asked crew if supply lines and drain hose were included and they said only drain hose. They placed the washer in the laundry room and left. There was no drain hose, so I had to run back out to the truck to get my old one off the old washer. read more

Along with a refrigerator, my wife and I also bought a new sofa from Big Sandy. We had to wait a couple extra weeks for a piece that wasn't in stock at the time but it was totally worth the wait! The delivery was well within the delivery window and I was updated on the location of the delivery truck throughout the day.
