We ordered a sectional from here, the delivery date kept getting pushed back and back. We would call in for an update and be told that it would be here next week, but it never came next week. It was like that for a month. We were told that we had to wait longer than expected because we ordered the reverse of what the floor model was. Finally, our couch was in! We got a delivery date, it came. However, it was the same as the floor model, they did not give us the reverse sectional. They had the audacity to try to get us to keep their mistake by offering 10% off of the mistake order or wait one more month for the correct couch that we've already waited on. When I told them I wanted the couch I ordered, they somehow found a way to get the correct one there within a week. This was my first and last experience with big sandys. Not happy with how the sails staff dropped the ball and did not contact us when our order arrived. But the delivery staff did a great job. Sails staff is a high turn. Over position with any company and Big Sandy places the responsibility of tracking customers orders on the sails. Had the opposite experience of the other 1 start review. We walked in on a Sunday afternoon to browse and were attacked by an overstaffed obviously competitive commission staff. The one lady asked me three times in 15 minutes if she could help us to which I replied with increasing insistence that we were just looking and I assured her if we had questions we'd find her. She stalked us like my parents and I would be shoplifting a sectional sofa any second now. Made the entire loop of the store with her making a smaller loop in the center of the store always keeping a creepy eye on us. I get it. I've worked commission sales and sales staff are supposed to be available and engage UNLESS!!!! the customer has made it clear they are more likely to make a purchase without them harassing. Management needs a better system for motivating their employees because I'd never go back to a place where the sales staff was so preoccupied with poaching sales from other associates that they made the customers uncomfortable. as for the actual offering. I'd give it a C- everything seemed overstuffed and boxy. clearly a low quality plywood frame construction. nothing modern or well proportioned. lowest common denominator designs. read more

I was in dire need of a new washer and dryer when I visited the Lancaster store. On February 3rd, I signed a purchase agreement for a Speed Queen TC5000WN pair. They were delivered on the 5th, but a different model number was delivered. This washing machine was apparently defective, as it wouldnt work properly. It was returned via those delivery persons, and a second set was delivered on the 12th, being the correct model number, BUT also apparently defective, as it would begin to fill with water, but then shut down. a third machine was delivered on the 19th,; it tripped the breaker. At this point, I had determined I would try a different brand. I was referred to Corporate, where repeated calls were made attempting to get the refund. during this entire time, my husband was hospitalized and actively losing his battle to cancer. I was left with no laundry facilities during this very stressful time. No effort was made by staff or management to address my very trying time! I had to send laundry out. the week after my husbands funeral the first week of March, i again contacted them to come and get this third defective machine, still attempting to get my refund! Now they advised I would have to pay a restocking charge for the dryer, which had never been turned on! on the 17th, I went to the store to try and get this sorted out. I was treated very rudely. The only reason they get a star is because they obviously have decent furniture. Other than that, my wife and I were extremely repulsed by their customer service. We had just moved into MidTown apartments in Lancaster and needed a couch that day so we went in to see what was on the floor. We finally found a double recliner with a drink pull-out. It's what we wanted so we offered to buy it straight off the floor for $595. They acted like we were crazy to buy it right then but finally agreed. After pulling my truck to the side and waiting for 30minutes I was upset and went in to see the problem. They said I was in line after the truck that was pulled into the garage to get hardware for a microwave..... A MICROWAVE?? Pulled into the loading dock...wow. I went up to who seemed in charge and asked for an abled body person to help ME load my couch myself and they said "we're getting to you" I said I was ready to go NOW and they got 1 person to help me. Our Samsung dishwasher had to be replaced, at first they tried to fix it and order new parts, but that didn't work. The only thing I will say that is negative is that took a long time about 7 months for them to decide to just replace the dishwasher. The delivery of the of the new dishwasher and installation was great. The delivery guys arrived in the time frame that was promised. The installation was quick, and now we finally have our dishwasher back. read more

I write this as a customer who has never made a purchase here, but as someone who has shopped here last summer for a sectional, and then recently for a bed. The store is new, large, very nice, and has a new huge parking lot. There is plenty of selection with most furniture with pretty reasonable prices. The worst service department from any business I've ever dealt with! I bought all new LG kitchen appliances from them. I realize Big Sandy's doesn't make the appliances but I bought from them because they said their service dept. is top notch. 1) refrigerator has had the same issue 'fixed' multiple times 2) dishwasher didn't work out of the box. They tried telling me it was because there was no power to the outlet! A simple voltage test would have ruled that out but they didn't do that or simply plug something in to the outlet to verify power which I did beforehand. They insisted it was a power issue. Only after I had a certified electrician come out while they were here did they come to the conclusion that the main motherboard in it was no good. 3) After 6 months the oven was taking up to an hour to preheat to 350. They diagnosed it with a bad relay. They said part would take 3-5 days to get in then they'd call and schedule the repair. After 5 days I called to ask if the part was in and they told me it wasn't ordered yet. So after another week the part came in. The repairman said it is normal for an oven to take this long to preheat!! I couldn't believe he told me that. He ended up changing the part and I told him to see how long it takes to preheat. It took about 7-9 minutes.. he said I was lucky to have a oven that only takes that long! Fast forward another 6 months and the same part is bad again and not covered under their replacement parts warranty. I've called requesting to speak to someone but nobody will return any calls. I ended up calling LG and they said Big Sandys hasn't been reporting any of the defects to them like they are suppose to do. LG says they will fix the part. In all, I'd never recommend anyone to buy appliances from Big Sandy's just because of their horrible service dept. There have been other issues but I'm not going to continue on because it would take an hour to write everything that I've had to deal with their service dept. Jeremy- thank you for the offer to speak about the issues but I have called roughly 6 times asking to speak to a manager or someone that can resolve the issues.The response I get is that they will email a manager and they will get back with me. This has been going on for weeks!! The only person that has called me back is the Customer Svc. mgr. at your corporate office. Not her fault, but she really wasn't much help so she said she would have the service mgr. call(which he hasn't at this time). I also find it funny you reach out after a negative review was left! Where was the concern when all the internal company emails that were sent? Or were they? It's a shame I had to call LG to attempt to get the issues resolved! read more

The only reason for the 4 star review instead of a 5 is that tent sale transactions have to be rang up separately from in store transactions. Had a pretty big issue where a queen mattress was delivered with a king bed. On the return the mattress was great but found the drawers in the foot of the bed hit the slats when closing. After a tech came out on the 3rd trip he said they have lots of problems with that issue and this is as good as it gets. I spoke to my sales person and she did take care of me by ordering a replacement bed set. I did ask her to have the GM to call me 3 different times. No call. Today they delivered the replacement bed set and found the issue was in the foot board where the drawer slides were installed at an angle from the factory. After replacing the foot board and drawers the issue was resolved. I give 5+ stars for my delivery guys. One name Brandon. He really took care to remedy the issue. In my opinion he should be the repair tech and the original tech needs to be coached on going the extra mile to take care of his customers. end result I am happy with the final product. I'm still pretty upset the GM of the Lancaster store still has not called me. He needs to take the same class as the service tech. read more

We purchased a couch on 8/2. The sales person said it would arrive in 2 weeks. We are 10+ weeks and have still not received our order. "You are on the the list, they will arrive on X-date" Every single date given was never met and continues to get pushed 2 weeks. On Oct. 14th I was told arrival the 21st is 23rd. I call today and now we are looking at yet another 2 weeks for mid November arrival. 12+ weeks for a generic sectional!! This is a joke... continued lies to your customers, blame it on Covid and your vendor/manufacturers. Super helpful, clear, and communicative throughout the entire process. Mattress supplies were limited (on the manufacturer's end) but they kept me updated at each step nonetheless. My favorite part is that their friendly delivery team of two delivered the mattress and frame to my third floor apartment without a complaint. Setup was included so all I had to do was put the mattress cover on--talk about easy work for me! They did all that hard work in just 15 minutes too! Not a single problem from them coming inside either--no scratched walls, missing items, or anything suspicious in case you are skeptical of having them in your house. Spent $4,000 on 4 chairs, 3 were delivered before Thanksgiving damaged. The delivery guy did not tell me about the damage...I found it after they left. When I called in to the store that same day and they pulled the delivery notes...the driver had noted there was damage. Two of the side chairs were not able to be repaired in home so they were sent back to their service location. No one called me to give me any info...I had to keep calling! The recliner had to have a new mechanism ordered.....to date, no one has contacted me with a status on that either. Second delivery...2 side chairs returned mid December 2108, 1 was ok, the other still with a crooked leg...and now new scuffs on the wooden legs. The chair was returned to their service center. On 12/22/2018, chair re-delivered...3rd time now......but same scuffed legs and a new large chip of wood out of 1 rear leg...and still 1 crooked leg. Delivery guy called his supervisor to report this.....I spoke to the supervisor who tried to claim this was a new chair just out of the box today...which I know was not true as... 1) same scuffed legs, and 2) I verified with the Lancaster store...they had not re-ordered this special order chair. Sent the chair back....now have to wait until after the holidays to figure out what they are going to do. I am paying on financing for a chair that I do not have....and cannot get the Big Sandy service department to either CORRECTLY fix or replace the chair. read more

I do not recommend to have anything delivered through them, me and my wife purchased a complete kitchen appliance set 3 years ago fridge kept having same issues that required a service technician to come out to tell me yup it's broken we will order parts and when they come in we will be back now mind you they don't care about you missing work twice for the same problem but after the 6th, 7th, 8th time they finally say well we will replace the fridge and if you want the extended warranty it will cost you another 399 dollars never mind that you still have over 2 years left on your current plan you are just sol so they tell you in February that they won't be out to fix your Fridge again eventhough it's still broken because your new one will be in come April which is only 2 months away except in April they tell you it will be May then May they tell you June then July next thing it's September and they schedule to bring it so you take another day off work only for them to call you mid day to tell you they are not coming because the day before they noticed a ding in the new one so they will reschedule for the following weekend and you ask if they can come early they tell you they will do everything they can to get this set since you have been a very understanding customer so the next week the night prior to coming they notify you it won't be until afternoon and there's nothing they will do about it so you tell them that you have to work so that isn't going to be happening and will need to reschedule so the next day while you are work you again are notified that they will be delivering your fridge you are the 9th stop so you to attempt again while you are working to let them know you are not home and at work as you had already told them the day before so they need to reschedule so again you set it up for the following week and again they tell you that it won't be until sometime in the afternoon due too the route and other deliveries so whatever you patiently waste another full day waiting only to find out from drivers that they started their route that day In Lancaster which is where you live how crazy is that they say yeah you could have been delivered 1st or 2nd but that's not how they set us up lol yeah so I suggest you go somewhere else read more

I have had problems with the merchandise ever since I ordered it. Big sandy was not helpful at all, i had to fight for everything to be done right. Not very pleased with the quality of the furniture but that part is not their fault. The delivery was the only thing that went right and good. Buyer Beware!!!! We purchased a sectional that was delivered 1/17/2015 and in 2016 we opened multiple Big Sandy Service Department work orders because the stitching all over the sectional would come undone and this even included the loose pillows. In addition, the sectional armrest cracked and the Big Sandy Service department patched it up with fabric strips and staples. Fast forward to November 2018 and the hacked fixes that were done in 2016 by the Big Sandy Service department have totally failed. The armrest framework completely broke in half and the stitching repairs have all come undone. This entire sectional should have been sent back to the manufacturer in 2016 when the furniture started having issues, but instead the Big Sandy Service Department "personally fixed" it for us. Now we are being told that we (the customer) are responsible for the labor costs and possibly the parts because the sectional is no longer under warranty. Big Sandy Service Department just quoted that they charge 79.95 +tax for the 1st hour of labor and 49.95 +tax for any additional labor hours. So far the quote to fix the armrest framework is 2-3 hours (or more) and that does not include the possible parts cost. In addition, the springs in the framework are giving out for the entire couch and we have had to cut a piece of plywood for additional support (Big Sandy has yet to provide a quote for that). Thus, buyer beware we spent @ $2700.00 on the sectional and warranty and all we have is a broken down piece of furniture that just needs to go to the dump!!! Do yourself a favor and research the furniture store and their policies before you spend your hard earned money. We ordered almost 8 weeks ago a new bedroom suit that we found on the website. The sales person was nice enough but was not very knowledgable. It was near closing time and could tell we were holding everyone up as they were wanting to close. At checkout the lady asked me how much money I had in my personal account (not your business)! Then one of the pieces of furniture did not fit around our banister so we had to return it! I was willing to switch out for a different piece of furniture however they want to charge a 30% restocking fee that apparently was disclosed to us as they were pushing us out the door. Horrible experience the prices are not that great suggest go anywhere else! We have had better service at Value City. However I would suggest that you don't use their delivery system we had so many problems with them. They were rude, unprofessional and lacked information when we needed it. I have to say my initial experience with BSS was great. The sales lady was amazing, nice and helpful. She even gave me her personal cell # to contact her at if there were any problems. Their sale was amazing as well. However, when it came time to finance everything, we had to drive down to store to complete the transaction and of course receive the slowest working person there. As she goes through the order to lock in our furniture she advise 1 small TV stand is on back order. I have to ask what that means exactly, and ask for instructions on how we will receive this. They should probably follow directly with that information so I don't have to ask. Flash forward to the day of our delivery, we find out that we are getting the small TV stand but the large one we are not because when it arrived it was damaged. Great thanks. We are advised we will be contacted when it is. That we were. They give us a date that it will be delivered, so I of course stay home from work that day. They also called the night before with the 4 hr delivery window. Great! They have this awesome feature where you can track your delivery so you know exactly when they will be arriving within that 4hr window. I go to track my order the morning of and receive an awesome error message "Your order is not available for tracking at this time." So I use the Chat function from the website and the online chat lady advises me that is in fact not out for delivery due to being pulled from delivery due to not in stock! Hmmmm that's weird seeing as how they called the night before and I never received a call that it wasn't coming. I call the store.....No answer! I call again 2 hrs later. Alice answers,very nice but not helpful. She advises that she never got a notice that it didn't go out. She says she is going to get me the Operations manager to see if she can get me more information. She places me on hold...then the phone rings for about 2 min straight and its Alice again. Lovely! she says oh she didn't pick up let me page her again! So now I know it's not a warm transfer and i am going to have to tell my whole situation again. Operation manager picks up this time. I tell my story all of over again. She advises that it didn't go out due to damage again! Seriously! What the hell do they do to this furniture that it has come damaged twice! How many times am I going have to take a day off work to not get this TY Stand. She advises that the ware house is in Columbus and then they bring it to Lancaster to then deliver to me. DUMB! When I live in between those 2 cities. Poor communication between all parties! Now she is contacting the delivery manager and we will see what he says! What I say is go get my TV stand and bring it straight to me. Stop with the middle man and you will stop getting damages! I don't think I will ever shop there again! We bought a Bosch range from Big Sandy on January 20,2021 and had it installed January 29th. We bought what we were told was an out of the box floor model that they wanted to clear for the newer model. When we got the stove I decided to wipe out the inside of the stove and there was a type of charcoal debris that is found after a stove is cleaned. It was obvious that this stove was not new, but had been bought, used and returned to the store and sold to us under the pretense of being a new stove. The stove came with a one year warranty but we bought the 5 year full protection plan. Good luck with that. We called March 18th when the oven broke and they scheduled us to have someone look at the stove on April 8th. We have been able to use the stove top but unable to bake or broil anything in the oven. There has only been one person in customer service who has tried to help us and everybody else has blown us off. We have had at least a dozen correspondences with them . They are now willing to exchange our stove if we pick out a new one from them but they LIED to us about the stove being new when they ultimately admitted that they knew it had been bought, used and returned. That type of behavior should be against the law and it was the MANAGER of the appliance department!!!!! Shame on you Big Sandy. I would have never bought it if I knew it was used. read more

Big Sandy in Lancaster, Ohio. My husband and I have purchased several items from this store. However, if you need service on something then I would Highly recommend not to buy from Big Sandy. We have had several problems with a front loader dryer and have had to have it serviced several times. This time we have been with out a dryer for two months. The service tech has been at my house three times to fix the dryer. Every time he comes he finds something else or something breaks. This last time a screw could not be removed. So as stated my family has been without a dryer for two months. I reached out to the store manager, expressed my concern and my husband contacted customer service. I received a call from service that they would be able to fix the dryer on the next day (Saturday). My husband and I were very happy and thought we could finally move on and have a dryer. Then we get a call Saturday morning from Big Sandy service department informing us that they were unable to locate the part and would not be able to service our dryer today. So here we are still without a dryer. I have called the store manager and have yet to receive a return call. I am beyond frustrated and very disappointed with Big Sandy and the customer service from this store manager. Not to mention the dryer is in pieces in my laundry room. read more

Everything this company could possibly do wrong, they did wrong. I ordered a whole new bedroom suit, and couch for my new apartment. I was waiting to move in until I got my furniture. I paid extra to have everything delivered and set up at my house. They said it would take 2 weeks to come in, and they would call me when it did. After waiting 3 1/2 weeks and not hearing anything, I gave them a call. They said all my stuff had came in except for my footboard, and that they would have it and everything delivered by Wednesday (this was Monday). Tuesday came around and they called me to tell me I still owed $600 on everything so nothing would be delivered until I paid. I had already paid my balance. After arguing with them for quite some time they finally found my receipt that says "PAID IN FULL". Everything was set to be delivered the next day. Later that Tuesday they called me again to tell me that my head board had been damaged and that they wont have another one for another week. At this point I've already waited almost a month for all my furniture when they said "Less than 2 weeks" so to say I was irritated, but there was nothing I could do so I just said "okay". Later that Tuesday, again, they called to tell me they have a headboard, and that everything would be delivered to my house the next day. Well, Wednesday comes around and they start to set up my furniture, and they don't have my night stand or half the stuff for my bed. For some reason they had it in their system for everything to be delivered to my house except for the night stand?? I paid for everything to be delivered because I have no way to haul any furniture. And no one knows why my bed stuff wasn't there. They left my apartment with the bed laying in pieces, and told me to call the store. I call the store and tell them everything was supposed to be delivered to my house and that my night stand and bed frames were missing. I was told if I want the night stand that I have to come get it from the store, even though I paid extra for it to all be assembled & delivered!! I go and pick up the night stand and once I get it home and out of the box i see that the entire back piece is ripped off. I took a photo of it to show the store, they did nothing about it. While I'm there I ask about my bed frames. They gave me a number to call. I call the number and the girl asks me what all I'm missing. I told her all I have is a head board and a footboard, nothing else to put the bed together. She asked me to send a photo of what I have, so I did. She said someone would call me later that day about it. This was 5 days ago and I have heard nothing back and cannot reach anyone. My bed pieces are still not put together and my night stand is totally busted. I will NEVER purchase anything from this company again. I understand people make mistakes and things don't go as planned but after EVERYTHING that went wrong with my order and delivery they never tried to fix, or make anything better. And 5 days later STILL no one has helped me get the pieces to my bed to get it put together. 100% the absolute worst service I have ever experienced. read more

We bought a $2000 Samsung curved TV and were talked into an extra $600 extended warranty that our salesman said would cover anything that could ever happen to it. so we agreed. after two months of having the TV, it was damaged. when we called for service, we were told that it wasn't covered and they were sorry that our sales associate "misinformed" us. that was it! our salesman outright LIED to us, and we called their corporate offices, left messages, and even send emails explaining all of this. we were repeatedly told the same thing....that they took this VERY seriously and would call us back withing 24 hours to schedule repair or replacement if repair wasn't cost effective all at no additional cost. BUT NOBODY HAS EVER ONCE CALLED US BACK! now they just ignore us. so it seems as if this is a common practice. once they swindle you out of your money they give you the runaround and blatantly ignore you. so we are out $2600. so please everyone-go to Best Buy or Sears or anywhere else but here. don't make the same mistake we did. go somewhere with a reputation for honesty and service after the sale. don't shop at big sandy superstore for anything. if you do you are taking an unnecessary risk and gamble. read more

Don't purchase anything, ANYTHING from this business. Yes, they are cheap but you are paying what it's worth. My husband bought a Samsung washer for me and after 2 months, the tub refuses to drain. Customer service and getting it repaired is a nightmare. It's 2 months later and I still have a brand new, but broken washer in my laundry room. Everytime we try and schedule it's a week out, and when they call that morning, the only time frame they have is mornings. I work and can't take the day off to sit at home to wait for the repair guy! And don't even miss their call because you can't call back and then you're reschedule for another week out. I decided to give Big Sandy a chance and see if I could get some new appliances. First stepping into the store very nice looking and lots of selection. That's the good. The bad out weighs the good. First walked into the store and my existence wasn't noticed. I walked over to appliances stood around for 10mins looking before getting eye contact with an employee sitting at a desk. He then contacts someone on a radio to tell them about being in that area. I talked to the employee he seemed a little eager to help. I gave him an idea of what I was looking for. He found an item that was I interested in and talked more about it. He said he would contact his store manager to see what he could do. He told me to check out the other items and he would let me know. So I made my rounds to another dept. I spent about another 20mins in that department before I was noticed by someone finally in another department. She was very nice and helpful even though it wasn't her department. I told her that I was interested in an item. She said she could work out something with the price. She asked if she could go greet another customer. I waited for about another 5 or 10mins again before she comes and checks on me. No worries she is trying to keep track of multiple departments. She radios the other guy and asked if he found anything out. He then tracks me down and lets me know his manager said he couldn't do anything for me. I told him no problem. He then told me that nobody is going to beat that price. I said that there was one like that at best buy and then told me that, I better go get that one then. I've been in commission jobs before and usually you try to get someone into some different or try and work with a customer to get the sale. I figured that since, I was looking for furniture also figured that they would be looking to make a deal. Apparently that is not the case and a wasted trip. So went across the street and found that price that couldn't be beat in about 20 minutes ordered and ready for delivery. (Kudos to my local Best Buy for taking the time and looking). So in closing if you you want to check out Big Sandy it looks shiny and new and the store is nice but. The store would be better off being self service cause you could find your item and go up front to pay for it in half the time since only maybe a handful of people work that big store. I expected more. The experience was mediocre at best. Ultimate Price Guarantee sounds like they need a new mantra. read more

I ordered a bunk bed for my son at the beginning of November. We had to wait until the end of November to have it delivered because they were waiting on one part. We called back at the beginning of December to see why it had not been delivered. We were told again that they were waited on one party and it would be delivered by the end of December. At the beginning of January we called to see why it hadn't been delivered and we were told they were waiting on three parts now!!! We had to cancel the order and take our business elsewhere. I don't recommend buying your furniture from here if you would like it delivered in a decent amount of time. read more

Sorry for the one star how ever we had all of our furniture picked out and was told a certain price for sofa all leather and then picked out 2 zebra chairs to match since the sofa was very high from the start cannot get love seat to match so we go up to the billing counter for them to say oh well she told you the wrong price sorry its going to be a lot higher in price oh my gosh can you believe that!!!!! I think Big Sandy should of gave us the set for the same price we were told it was but no they sat there expecting us to pay the higher price they told us I was in tears knowing we had to say no and go home without this set I just could not believe they did not iet us have the set at the price they had quoted us in the first place, This is wrong and uncalled for they do not seem to care about customer service at that rate then later we bought a mattress and it made dips where we laid on it the first few weeks and of course they would say sorry its not one in a half inch deep well I raised cane about that finally we were about to get another mattress after fighting it for 7 or 8 month then to pay extra 2k for it on top of that :O woowzy where is their customers service here ...I will always be nervous to buy at this store ever again buyers beware :'( read more

They are unwilling to work with you at all. They had a sale where if you spent a minimum of $999, they would give you $300 to spend on anything in the store (except tv's). My fiancee and I went in to buy 2 recliners for $500, but found another chair we liked better. It would equal enough then to get the $300. They would not allow us to apply it to the chair. We explained that it would still be a $700 sale, the same as giving away a lamp or picture for $300. They absolutely would not budge. So they lost themselves a $700 sale and a xouple customers. As we were walking out the door, the manager offered to take a hundred dollars off instead of giving us the $300. Too little too late. Their stuff is way overpriced anyway and where we did end up buying our chairs, from a very reputable local business, we were told they lied to us about the chairs construction material anyway.
