The review would be higher if I had only dealt with Greg in furniture; he was very friendly and helpful. The same cannot be said of the saleswoman in bedding; she cared only about her commission and attempted to talk down to not only me, but I heard her verbally berate an older customer. Those who know me know I do not post on the internet and I am not one to tear someone else down. Can't figure out how to put a review of Big Sandy Furniture in South Point,OH but maybe this will help someone else... My son recently returned from active duty military service and was not bringing his furniture from Hawaii. I took his wife to shop for new furniture, told the salesperson the whole situation including that his household goods were not here. We purchased living room furniture, bunk beds and a chest for their boys and a dining room set. At the showroom everything went efficiently and we left within an hour. First Delivery day came and they delivered everything they promised (we knew the LR tables were on back order and to be delivered later). It was at that point I was told by the delivery people they do not assemble the bunk beds... I contacted Big Sandy via their automated system about my displeasure and to this date have never received a reply. Had I known, I would maybe purchased something else or came prepared with tools. At point i looked at prior messages, I noticed I had questioned my salesperson (same person BTW) about a military discount that was ti have been given, the message was acknowledged by my salesperson with a promise to look into it. As you can guess, no follow up or credit to my account. Delivery date 2: confirmed delivery by 2:30 pm. Didnt happen. Received message later that delivery driver got sick(that happens and i am sympathetic ) but here is you updated delivery time, which kept changing up to 11:30 PM. My son and his wife stayed up until midnight and gave up. I called the delivery office first thing the next morning for an update and ETA . I spoke with a female manager who let me know his tables would not be delivered that day because they didn't know until after the drivers left his tables had not been delivered. After much insistant discussion I was offered a $50 gift card which i declined. She finally agreed to a $50.00 credit to my account. So I received my bill this week and well, guess what? No credit. I am beyond done. If someone knows how to get this review to BS, feel free to forward it on. If it helps someone else even better. read more

We have purchased many things over the years from Big Sandy and each experience only gets worse. The last item purchased a living room suit the sofa and two recliners. They were not cheap. The first recliner tore up about a year after we got. Of course it was out of warranty or anything by then but we went ahead and paid them to get the part and repair it. Couple of years go by Both the recliners are broken They will not recline. I again requested repairs and they advised they had to order the Parts and we had to pay for them. They would be delivered to our house and to call when they were there and installation would have been scheduled. One of them did arrive and I contacted them about the other they gave me several excuses as to why the other had not arrived but I believe they didn't order the other one. I kept calling and calling and calling, Kept brushing me off not paying any attention. I finally filed a complaint With the Attorney general's office. I sent it in on Friday afternoon and they contacted me first thing Monday morning to assure me that this would be taken care of as soon as possible. We now have parts to repair those recliners and I'm going to call them later today to try to schedule an installation date. If I have a problem I will again contact the Attorney General's office. Within the next few years we plan to buy some very expensive rocker recliner lift chairs but we will not be buying them from Big Sandy read more

To whom it may concern my name is Patricia Carlson my husband and I bought a refrigerator invoice 10310331RVQ. We paid for a water kit never got the kit or the money for it. Then because of a kink in the water hose when it was delivered we have water damage. My husband got a estimate of 200.00 to fix it. Did not get any response. On 7/22/24 my husband & I went into Big Sandy at the South Point location and was immediately offered assistance as soon as we walked in the door. The associate who helped us was Caleb. He was super nice and very helpful, showing us different options at different price points & the difference of the quality in the sectionals. Caleb informed us near the end of our visit that it was his 8th day working there. He did amazing, we were both very impressed! The lady from the financial department was also very friendly & helpful. On the other hand I did have a very big issue with one of the other workers, where Caleb is new he asked one of the other male workers to help him with something ( no big issue there) and the gentleman was helping him with something on the computer when it came to shipping. I ordered a sectional & a chair for my living room and the chair wouldn't be able to be delivered until the middle of August and if I wanted it delivered I'd have to pay a delivery fee after I already spent 3 grand and had free delivery for the sectional. I made a comment that "wow that's crazy considering how much we're spending" which I was met with the snarky response "well I work here and I still have to pay for delivery". Right then I was ready to just cancel the whole transaction and walk out. He made the situation very awkward for everyone involved. I didn't catch his name and wish I had asked then. After we left the store Caleb even sent a follow up message thanking us again, and wishing us a good day. This is the first time I've ever bought new expensive furniture and I'm so disappointed with my interaction. I won't be returning to Big Sandy after this, I'd much rather spend my money where I'm not going to be met with such a rude response. We were notified it was there and ready but when I arrived, it was nowhere to be found. They suck I would do without before I will buy anything else from them. My daughter is bipolar and we went in for the sale to get the upgrade to an adjustable base. I did everything was told would be around 1500 which is what I wanted to spend go to the finance and it was going to be almost double. Said no thank you. My daughter got convinced to purchase a twin temperpedic mattress floor model for 1/2 off but the half off is over $2,000. I called them the second day because the mattress was defective and asked them to replace they said they would send out service to inspect and fix if need be. An hour later they call back and say no they can not service the mattress we have to call Temperpedic and they give me a number. I called the number for my daughter was on hold for 45 min. the gentlemen finally came on the line and informs me I have the wrong number. I called Big Sandy back and informed them of the situation and was given another number to call. I called it and again was on hold for over 30 mn., when the lady came on the line I told her that when you lie on the mattress it is like lying on a hillside because one side collapses. She said they do not provide service that is on the retailer, but if I wanted to file a warranty claim she would go over that with me and send me an email. She said if there is no visable signs and no tag and the fact that it is a floor model the warranty is voided. I called Big Sandy back as was told not their problem pay for it or it will go against her credit. I am not paying 2 or 3 thousands dollars for a defective twin mattress. I am thinking about speaking to an attorney to see if there is anything they can do. By this time I have already paid $400 on the mattress that can only be slept on if you sleep on your side. read more

Let me start by saying that I have NO problem with the sales staff at Big Sandy. They have tried to help me, but, the Service Dept. has been a huge disappointment. They sold be a 'better' dishwasher at a discounted price. It was a floor model, and I had to pay someone to pick it up and install it. Then I paid a Licensed Plumber $137.00 to see why it wouldn't work! He informed me that the Pump did not work. So, then they 'found a replacement at another store. But they informed me that they could not pick up the BRAND NEW broken dishwasher, nor could they deliver the 'New Floor Model' from the other store, because it wasn't Ina box. So, I'd have to Pay someone else to return their broken machine, AND pick up another un-boxed Mystery. They can come and install it after I get it home fr an Additional $150.00. So, now I have a 5-yr-old Broken dishwasher that I paid for 2 service calls and 2 parts that I didn't need sitting on my back porch that I have to pay someone to haul off, and a Brand New Broken Floor model that Also has a bad pump installed in my kitchen. THAT'S NOT WHAT I CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE! read more

My husband and I bought a purple mattress and a sofa from this store so needless to say we spent a good amount of money . We brought the couch home it had huge hole in the side of it and the couch is leather . We went a month dealing with them to get the couch returned and replaced . The second couch we received has a bent frame so every time you recline it it digs down into the wood flooring and has damaged it. This has been going on since June trying to get this issue resolved . I have had numerous phone conversations with the operations manager telling me she will get something done and call me back but never does . This is November and still have the junk couch that was supposed to be top of the line that continues to get worse ... read more

My daughter purchased a mattress 1/2 off that was defective. I have poseted here before about it. I spoke with a manager after my last post and she said she would get it taken care of that was about 3 months ago or longer nothing just blowing smoke up my ass. I am updating this review. I apologize I took so long to do so. While Big Sandy dropped the ball on me several times with in 2 days... the management team and delivery team made it right with us. It is unfortunate that some areas of communication should be addressed... but again in the end... they made it right and did not lose a customer. I rarely get upset about things... and I did on this... I understand Big Sandy had a perfect storm of bad circumstances as well. They did make it right... the fridge looks/works great. My sales lady was great, I didn't feel like she pushed anything off on me and let me make my own decision. My issue comes in with delivery. We set delivery date for June 12th, confirmed multiple times that this would be the date and made sure everything was in stock so no possible delays. Paid a $20 delivery fee because I'm not in the delivery area, no big deal. June 12th comes, my bed has been removed from my home, new one should be here. 5pm EST rolls around, no bed, contact someone and am informed the delivery date is set for June 19th. There is nothing that can be done, have sales lady call me but that's it. Sales lady called me June 13th and confirmed delivery was set for June 12th but her system did an update and changed the delivery date. There's no way to change it because the truck only delivers to my area on Wednesday and Friday and the Wednesday delivery is full. So now here I am, no bed, and the free adjustable base and TV that are being offered isn't in the deal because I purchased the day before the sale started, even though I was informed by another salesperson with the company that there's a 30 day money guarantee that would allow for that to be added as well. If I can haul it same day I'll not purchase for delivery again!! read more

We purchased a complete set of Samsung Appliances they were delivered nearly a month ago. The range display would not work at all. I called them told them to bring me another one. It was delivered 4 days later, it would not work either and oh, by the way the guys delivering it almost dropped it down the steps and damaged the back of it. The burners came on but the oven would not work due to the display not working again! I then called and really was mad and told them I wanted something done I was more than disappointed and I wanted it replaced with a new one installed and working before they left. Well, they couldn't do that they had to send a service to look at it. So they are supposed to be here the 16th of September and look at this problem. Never again in life will I deal with this store again. For years I have bought from this store. Spent thousands but this last purchase for a LG TV WAS IT.Bought it in February only worked for about 2 weeks repeatedly they have tried to fix it. 4 times been to my house with replacement parts still does not work and they aren't coming back till July 16 Don't have a clue what parts they will bring.I keep saying it's a lemon but they told me I have a 5 year warranty that will only cover replacing parts ! We received a bed 4 months ago, the day it came the drawer on the footboard was broke, I contacted them immediately, sent pictures the guy came a month and a half later said hed send parts, then a month later we received a bracket...not sure what I'm going to do with a bracket, but ok. A few months ago, my children and I started over after a painful divorce. I worked hard and made sure I could at least let my children pick out a new bedroom set of their own. We chose big sandy, and they found everything they loved. After being promised it would be in within the month we waited. They delivered a mirror, some foot rails, and useless pieces of furniture and left. We waited for the rest of our order, with no success. I went to the store and they showed no remorse, although it wasn't the "stores" fault they did nothing to make it right. I now had to start the process over, with some broken hearts. My daughter begged for a vanity, we asked if we could have the display one in store, she was told no. We never received the vanity we ordered. I am disappointed, as a costumer that spent 7,000+ dollars with them, one would think they would care a little more. Very, very disappointing. read more

Shady business going on here. I went with my uncle to help him choose a sofa. We chose one, on sale for $599. By the time he got out of there, they had charged him $1100 for the couch. Then, once he got home and began to read the fine print more closely, he found that they had him set up on a rental agreement. None of this was disclosed up front. They completely took advantage of someone who needed to use a finance option. Needless to say, my uncle and his family cancelled the deal before the couch was delivered, after reading the fine print. A reputable business would be more joe front. I personally will never shop here despite needing to furnish a home in the near future. I will travel, if needed, to shop for furniture, rather than giving this place my business. read more

I got a 4K smart tv in December was told I missed 46 payments on a biweekly payment plan and I didn't even have it long except for maybe 8 payments worth of time and I ended up calling them because my job paycheck didn't roll around until the following few days for an extension just for three days I ended up paying the late payment fee but one worker who answered was really rude even had the nerve to tell me I missed 46 payments and was late on 98 payments and I said to her upset excuse me but I haven't had it that long and I want to know if you got my name correctly she got mad and said yes I did and you are lucky we are letting it slide for three days but you better pay which in my case was disrespectful. I am now having to go there personally this week when I can because my payments that I made on my tv they been clearing it off and making it look like I only paid a certain amount and my husband thank god he got it to my attention because I got a Christmas special going on with the tv and I should have already paid off my tv by now especially if I'm paying $105.39 every two weeks there is something really wrong. Also if I wasn't paying anything on it and I missed that many payments they would have taken my tv from me it's terrible for the record I'm never going here after this tv deal is done. read more

We bought a King size mattress and box Springs in 2011 from Big Sandy super store in South Point. Paid over $1800.00 with a 20 year warranty and in less than 4 years the mattress started developing two dips. The dips are so sever that it is very difficult to turn over in bed and there is a pronounced ridge down the center of the bed. We called Big Sandy and they redirected our call to there repair department. They sent out their inspector to check the dips with a piece of string and a tape measure. He took measurements through a thick quilt and said the dips weren't deep enough. My advice to anyone thinking of buying anything from the rip off kings, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. They're all warm and fuzzy when you're in the store buying something but if you have a problem they act like they have never seen you before. Just say NO to Big Skanky not so super store. read more

Very disappointed with the South Point store. Was sold 2 couches on Thursday and told they would be available in warehouse on Monday and delivered on Tuesday 3/31. Was with salesman when he entered delivery date in computer. On Sunday was called and told he just found out they would not be in until April 15th. I find it very hard to believe they didn't know until Sunday that they would not be there on Monday!?? Tried to get me to take different color or floor display models from other stores. I had already paid for items. Told him to cancel order. Meanwhile had started giving my furniture away to make room for the new ones also. Called back on Monday to complain to manager and be sure order was cancelled. Customer service said had not been cancelled as I had requested and manager not there but would be sure he saw it in am. No response. not even an apology. will never do business there again. read more

Having always been suspicious of bargain price baiting by big businesses, I have steered clear of Big Sandy Superstore. My suspicions have recently been reinforced by my next door neighbor's experience with them. Know the reputation given to used car dealers? Well that's what you can expect at Big Sandy. My neighbor was told he had purchased a leather couch and sofa. It turned out to be bonded leather about as thick as your kitchen trash bag. Both pieces cracked and melted in their home. The warranty had expired and what was purported to last 40 years or so only lasted 5 years. They explained the salesman that represented the longevity was now gone and they offered only a token $90 toward the purchase of more of the crap they sell. Be wary of the supposed leather furniture. They're still selling plenty of it. Poor customer relations and poorer quality products from God knows where. read more
