*BUYER BEWARE* THEY SELL YOU A TUB BUT DO NOT SERVICE IT COMPETENTLY. I spent approximately $13,000 on a Wellis hot tub from Big Star Backyards. About 3 1/2 years later (still under warranty), it developed what was initially a relatively minor leak. That was the beginning of what has now become a six-month ordeal. Since February, I've endured multiple paid service visits, repeated repair attempts, months of downtime, and countless emails and phone calls coordinating repairs with both Big Star Backyards and Wellis. Despite all of that, the leak has progressively worsened rather than improved. The most frustrating part is that what began as a slow leak has now become a spa that can lose nearly all of its water within approximately 24 hours after being refilled. Throughout this process, I've done everything asked of me. I've coordinated appointments, rearranged travel, filled the spa when requested, taken videos documenting the leaks for the technician, and remained patient while waiting weeks for parts to arrive. Unfortunately, despite all of those efforts, I still do not have a functioning hot tub. Rather than taking ownership of why repeated repairs have failed, the conversation has increasingly shifted toward my water chemistry--even though the spa is still under warranty, the water was balanced immediately after repairs, there were no guests using the spa, and it leaked nearly empty immediately after being refilled. We've spent more than $10k at this company over the years and had a great relationship and service from them. In a routine conversation with someone named Michelle regarding service she was rude and hung up on me. I called back and she did not apologize for hanging up or for her unprofessional attitude towards me. I let her know that she should go fuck herself for her behavior and that I would never do business with them again. Then I received a message saying that I was banned from their business. Fair enough. No courtesy or professional response from a company I've spent more than $10k at in the past 4 years. She needs to be fired. read more

Big Star Backyards is--hands down--the best spa purveyor in the Austin area. We shopped around to do due diligence, and not only were the prices better across the board at Big Star, but the sales guy we worked with (Chad) was WAY more knowledgeable. Turns out this is a family business, which makes sense why Chad knew the Jacuzzi system backwards and forwards. Probably been hearing about hot tubs since he was a kid. Also, he had just the right touch. He knew the products were quality, so he didn't pressure us or upsell. He let the products do the talking. He earned our trust and delivered on it 100%, including being responsive over text as I got the whole thing installed and set up. Service that really went above and beyond. The only thing I would add to the Big Star business model: a subscription plan to get the chemicals delivered automatically. Would love to set it and forget it, with my money going to a locally-owned, family-run business instead of Amazon. Support small businesses! read more

Very satisfied. They installed this hot tub about a year ago, still super psyched. The OLD hot tub I had was rotted out and had to be cut into pieces with a chain saw to be removed. It was kinda nuts. They cleaned everything up (foam insulation every where) and got the new tub dropped in shortly after and walked me through it. We had been to Jacuzzi of Austin in the past and just by chance we went back in to see if they had any floor models for sale. The sales person we spoke with was great same as we has received in each previous visit. We were new to hot tubs and wanted a good mid range tub. The sales representative showed us the Vikings tub we were blown away. It was perfect for what we were looking for and it was close to 1/2 the price of the other places we talked to and they could get us one in less than 2 weeks. SOLD. I can't account for the quality of their service in the store as I reached out to them for service on an existing Jacuzzi hot tub. To add further insult to injury, Big Star Backyards was referred to me by Jacuzzi. To this end, I have been trying to get a hot tub repaired since early May. I first called Big Star directly and got a call back from their technician early one Sunday morning some 4 days later. He need additional details on the hot tub that I didn't have at that time. After that, I called their tech back numerous times with no answer or return call. So, I started calling the Big Star main number directly. Finally I get to talk to their repair technician, Chris, again. He schedules an appointment to come out and then on the day of the appointment, some 30 minutes after the scheduled time, I get a call from him that he can't make it because his truck was broken into. Ok, I get that. Totally understandable. So, we reschedule. He doesn't make that appointment either and instead I get referred to another repairman - Kyle the txhottubman - I'll write a review of him later as it's more of the same with that guy. To be clear, I understand that during the COVID19 pandemic not everything is going as smoothly as it should. But, basic professional courtesy warrants return calls and timely follow ups. None of which occurred with Chris and Big Star Backyards. That is deplorable service. One further note, this hot tub is used for the therapeutic needs of an elderly man, not myself. It's not a recreational hot tub. Hence, the delays caused by Big Star Backyards and their referral have further aggravated a problematic situation where timely professional service is highly warranted and needed. read more

I am absolutely thrilled to write a review for Jacuzzi Hot Tubs of Austin because they are an amazing company to work with. We were shopping for a hot tub at other hot tub stores and were totally under impressed. When we went into Jacuzzi Hot Tubs of Austin, Chad was extremely helpful in showing us the various choices of hot tubs. He explained the differences between the various choices and the options. We purchased the 495 model and are thrilled with it. We called several times with questions and Mighty, Chad and Cory have offered a great amount of help. They have been extremely patient and knowledgeable. My hot tub cover had several cuts in it which I reported on 8/21/21 (from delivery) and I am still waiting for the replacement to date, 11/22/2021. I email them to get told it should arrive in 2 1/2 weeks and no update or communication. The customer service after the purchase is poor. I went and looked at tubs 4 times before finally deciding on the one I liked best and the owner Jim at Big Star/Jacuzzi never pressured me into buying, offered numbers on each model, and told me exactly what was needed in the yard to get setup. Great crew and deal with Jim, Chad, and Chris! I took a friend to look at swim spa sales around north Austin. Jim ended up selling my buddy and I swim spas. Other dealers couldn't beat the numbers and service. I purchased CalSpa FM-1681. Several crane companies gave estimates (too big require Right of Way permit to close street) and the smaller crane one was selected. Delivery and installation was smooth and fast. From truck trailer to filling water in an hour. Delivery from factory was about 1 month wait. Chris wired it up internally for stealth look. Chad and Chris set up hydraulic levers for cover lid. Quick review of basic spa operation and maintenance. Few weeks later when the deck is finished. I need to trade levers for cover baskets. Jim ordered it and Chris installed it with no additional cost. Jim threw in some additional spa cleaners as well. Chad and Chris are professional and friendly. Jim provided great customer service. He always responded to calls and texts, even after store hours. They're all focused on a great customer experience. Definitely recommend for anyone considering a hot tub or swim spa. read more

Took the leap and purchased a Jacuzzi from Jim at Big Star Backyards in Austin. I went to another dealer and was disappointed with their policy "we only deliver 'em we don't set 'em up". So I found Jim. Not only did they sell me an affordable floor model they included a upgrade cover, steps (all weather durable), easy cover lift and a safety handlebar.
