Consumer alert!!! For all my Richmond, Houston friends and family this is just a forewarning, you can use them if you want, and I'll revert this post if the company lives up to its 4 1/2 star reputation on Yelp, but please save yourself from time and money if you have plumbing issues don't use these guys. I had a pipe leak in front of my house less than 2 years ago, they charged me almost $1k, and now the leak is back and this is how they leave it because a work warranty couldn't be sent out to guarantee their work. How crook is that?!? Don't use Big State Plumbing Inc

We have been having severe problems with the drain system of one of our 3 new Lennox heat pumps, a…read more4 Ton unit. The unit continued to produce so much condensation that it backed up the drain system. I had been pouring the required amount of 'enzymatic cleaning solution'monthly, but even this failed to work. When I called the major A/C company that sold me these pricey units, they told me that it was a 'plumbing issue', and that I had to call a plumber. I did this a year ago and used the Sugar Land plumber recommended by the A/C company to do this. The tech from this company had a mini-snake and worked for over 3 hours, which cost me nearly $400! So, when the identical problem arose and the A/C company told me to call a plumber, I called the local company, Astro-Tech. This turned out to be unusually fortuitous, as the business owner, Israel, was the tech who had been working on the old A/C units for the past 15 years, before we moved into the home! He knew that the problem was not with the plumbing in the attic A/C site, but down below in the sink of the master bedroom, where the above A/C drain line couples into the P-trap under the sink. Israel quickly disassembled the components of this ensemble, thoroughly cleaned it all out, then flushed out the line from above, and reassembled it. This is a simple procedure that anyone can do, so I now feel so empowered that I now know how to do this on my own. As a bonus, he performed the same operation on the other 2 sinks. But the cherry on top was when he told me that there is a product that can be mounted in the coil area, which is like a pill, that adds tiny amounts of a compound that will keep the entire system free of the micro-organisms (algae, fungi, and bacteria) that are the root cause of this problem. And once installed, it can last for an entire year! I found Israel to be very friendly, knowledgeable, punctual, communicates clearly and willing to share his information to help us keep our A/C systems up and running well. We will be using him to do all future maintenance on our systems. He is a very pleasant individual and his prices are very reasonable. I would give him my highest recommendation!

The team worked seamlessly to remove our 25+year old system and installed a completely new heat and A/C unit in less than 2 days-ducts and ALL !. Everything is working great. He unhooked the water softener and i paid him 6000 dollars for a water softener and installation neither of which were ever received. The softener is necessary as we have a well and the water has heavy sulfur content. So now my kids have been having to bath in dirty water which I made the company aware of which didn't prompt any more urgency at all. On top of all this i had to contact the company that built my water softener and they said it wasn't broken in the first place but sitting and not being hooked up has caused it to need parts replaced so now that has costed me another 800 dollars. I'm just glad i didn't pay to replace the water heater and well pump like he said i should. We found out those were both fine as well. We have currently sent him an official letter to give him one last chance to remedy this before I am forced to sue him. I will leave an update once i get resolution. I would strongly urge people to avoid working with these people. It really hurts when you trust someone like that. Not only with your money but with your families health and safety and then they completely take advantage of you.

Our water heaters were improperly leveled during installation, installed under the wide open roof, left unprotected from exposure to adverse weather conditions for continuous period of time, and have significantly rusted, compromising their functionality and safety. We seek a prompt resolution that includes that the defective water heaters be replaced with compliant units that adhere to both the manufacturer's installation guidelines and the relevant building codes and regulations. Failure to address these code violations could lead to legal consequences and potentially affect the plumbing license of the company. Before we officially proceed with legal action, we would like to offer Rosenberg Plumbing the final opportunity to resolve this matter amicably. This issue was already addressed to Rosenberg Plumbing plumbers and Mr. Lopez several times, but because of lack action taken to resolve the problem we would like to bring Mr. Hector Garcia attention to resolve this matter without resorting to legal proceedings. If Rosenberg Plumbing responsibly fix the issue that happened due to their negligent installation, this review will be updated accordingly. Otherwise, customers be aware that company done installation in gross violation of local building code and manufacturer's instructions that led to the premature abnormal corrosion of our water heaters.

Yes, this company mostly does plumbing for new houses. My house underwent a renovation in 2013 and…read moremy contractor used this company. The plumbers got the job done. And the owner helped me out with a water heater issue (by informing me that the manufacturer would handle it). My main qualm with this company is that they weren't that kind to me, the end customer, when approached with issues. I realize that I am not their typic customer (as I asked for service after their one-year warranty), but as a plumbing company, they should be polite about referring service to others, which I eventually got the owner to do. I had to negotiate with the receptionist and owner to get advice on a simple water heater issue from the owner/manager. In the end, I got the shower faucet to be installed correctly, and got advice on a water heater issue, but the processes involved were unnecessarily stressful, and this is where I think they could improve in customer service. The other, albeit minor, thing that I didn't appreciate was that when the plumber installed new PVC pipes, he didn't pad the pipes. When faucets were turned on, the water going through the pipes would vibrate the pipes against the attic floor boards and joists, creating a knocking sound. I recommend people request padding on pipes when replacing them and also contact your appliance (e.g., water heater) manufacturer before calling the plumber for service. Also, the quality of the plumber was suspect on my 2013 job as I had to explain to him how to install a shower faucet diverter correctly (I ended up just reading the instructions to him).
