They helped with baiting the hooks, unhooking the catches, cleaning the fish, and providing unparalleled entertainment. We couldn't have asked for a better day on the water, the fish were biting and the weather was absolutely perfect. The captain kept putting us right on the fish and we ended the trip with plenty to bring to a restaurant for a hook and cook dinner. I can't recommend this place enough, the price is right and the people running it and keeping it going are great. The captain even let us know when a pod of dolphins were nearby so we could enjoy seeing them! Such an unexpected and great bonus to the day! It is BYOB if you want, but onboard they do have some beverages and snacks for purchase (cash only on board), but we brought our own which worked out well. Tickets can be purchased with debit or credit cards, but cash on board is king for drinks/snacks, tips, and fish cleaning so make sure to bring some cash for your day on the water! If you're in the middle keys and want a great value for a fishing trip without a full charter, this is the best there is and totally worth it.

The bite was very slow all around, but more importantly we felt like they weren't putting in any effort. Asked around and everyone we talked to said they heard they have really went down hill. We went on another boat out of Islamorada last month and the boat limited out super early and everyone went home happy. Sad to say, we're retiring our tradition of going out on the Marathon Lady every year for our anniversary trip.

The mate was especially patient and kind with our young boys and really made sure they had the best time possible! This was following a night time charter with a different boat in the area, and we caught twice as much fish and had a much better time with Sea Dog. The shared catch aspect was originally a deterrent for us, it's something we're really not a fan of. In the end it worked out fine though, and we were glad we decided to give them a try!

We had a beautiful day on the water, a great boat ride, and a lot of fish caught. John put us on the fish right away. Johnny and Nick both were kind, funny and considerate. We especially loved Johnny's jokes. He treated us like family, it was an overall amazing day as we traveled from Oregon and Tampa to fish in the keys. Take this fishing charter if you want to catch fish!! We were going to take another rival party…read moreboat until we heard about Sea King. Glad we listened!! We took our two small daughters with us and had a blast. When we got out to the reef the captain had us on the snapper. As soon as your line hit the water you were reeling in a keeper. We caught so many we started throwing them back! I actually got sea sick when the sun went down, and had to go in the cabin to lay down. The mate that was working with us tried his best to make me as comfortable as possible, and he was excellent with our daughters. Even though I was sick as a dog,lol, I enjoyed hearing my daughters and husband reeling in all them fish!! Two adults and two children it was $144.00. That was less than anywhere else. The captain don't charge any more money, rods no charge, bait no charge!! You do need to bring you a cooler with a lunch and drinks. You can also bring your own poles if you want. Hands down this is a great value for a awesome time!! Have fun catching all hem fish, and leave us some.:)
