    $18 for this, disgraceful.

$18 for a chewy lukewarm sandwich that looks like it came from an elementary school cafeteria? What a shame because the beer was pretty good, but I can't recommend this place. Terrible frozen food, they obviously don't care. When the server asked if everything was okay, I told him that the food was not good and showed him the chewy sad looking sandwich. He agreed that the food looked bad but never offered to refund or replace the meal. I do not recommend. Update: After posting my original review, the manager reached out directly to address the issue. They took the feedback seriously, said they'd be working with their team to improve, and offered a refund. I really appreciate the follow-up and accountability, it definitely changed my impression of how they handle customer concerns. Hoping to see improvements to the food moving forward.

Great beers! I was suggested the Alpine Lake IPA- excellent choice. The servers were quick to answer my questions and there was basketball playing! Pretty chill spot to delete a few cold beverages

Great bar style restaurant that is fun and has great food. We stopped here - strangely - just because we thought it would be funny to eat inside a ski gondola with a table inside (in front of the restaurant), however we ended up loving the place ! Best of all was that they have GF / gluten free items on the menu for celiacs like me. Get the pepperoni pizza with a GF crust - amazing ! We also got a raspberry beer that was good. If you get the pretzel, buy the optional mustard for $0.50 !!! It is WAY BETTER than the cheese it comes with. It is pretty cool inside with couches and the staff was cool too. The only thing we didn't like was the root beer. Overall - we would definitely come back and this place helped make our vacation special !! Thanks Big Trout Family !!

Incredible beer! If you're in the Winter Park area this is a must stop. The Hoppy Henry and Amarillo by Morning beers are delicious. This is the kind of spot you want to hang out in for a few hours - Go check it out!

We were a group of almost 30 and came in around 1pm. Service was great for such a large group. Our server was super nice and friendly the whole time and made great suggestions. Much of their menu can be made vegan, if needed. I also like that you can get a small 2 oz pour of beer if you want to do a little flight or just want a tiny serving. I really enjoyed the Alpine Lake IPA, tomato Bisque, and grilled cheese sammie. Definitely recommend this place.

Big Trout Brewing is a cute spot nestled in the town of Winter Park. They had a variety of beer options, but also a food menu. We stopped in here during our first night at Winter Park. Our server/bartender was wonderful. He was super gracious with our large party of nine and great about providing recommendations! We enjoyed a little bit of everything!

We visited Big Trout Brewing for a private event (meet & greet the night before a wedding), and had a great time. I'm not really a beer drinker, so I was thrilled that they served wine and liquor. There were plenty of tables, as well as seating at the bar, and the ambiance was fun/casual. The decor was partially hockey-themed but there were also plenty of art pieces around the room. There was also a wall of merch, which had some very cute apparel and glassware. I ended up coming back the next day to buy a cup! After about half an hour, they brought out a buffet of small bites - Pretzels with Beer Cheese (absolutely delicious), Caprese Avocado Toast (very tasty, surprisingly not messy to eat), and the So Gouda Mac 'N Cheese Bites (my favorite, I kept coming back for more of these). They also brought out pizzas, but unfortunately these weren't the best - way too doughy. Our server was SO attentive with the refills, many of the guests ended up commenting on it - he was fantastic! Overall, a wonderful place to host a private event in WP.

I'm not sure what the bad reviews about service were - we got better service here than anywhere else near Winter Park. We walked in and immediately sat at the bar. Within the first 10 minutes, we were asked if we were taken care of 3 different times by different people. We ordered flights (we did NOT eat here), and had them in front of us within a few minutes. Their flights are so freaking cute! My fiancé and I both got different options - they had a ton to choose from, something for everyone. We didn't try one that we hated, everything was pretty good. If you're looking for a spot to grab a few beers, this one is awesome!

The waitress come out to my order and delivered my beer, but where is my meal? The waitress came out and didn't check with me. There is another who has been sitting a bit and she hasn't come by. She finally came by. The ambiance is causal and inviting. The sliders didn't even have enough crab to cover the bun.

Drink beer and pet dogs is a very fitting slogan for this place. Wanting to try some different beers tonight, we had quite the flight: 1 - American Dream Cream Ale 2 - Irish Red 3 - Mexican Lager 4 - Ginger Pale Ale 5 - Fruit Ninja Blonde 8 - Lostoberfest Marzen 10 - Mangy Moose Spruce Tip Pale Ale My two favorites were the Cream Ale and the Marzen. Following the flight, I enjoyed a pint of the Cream Ale. My wife liked the Marzen and the Mangy Moose the best, and she enjoyed two pints of the Marzen. Employees and customers are all very friendly. A definite stop when we're in Breckenridge.

We fell in love with their original location years ago. Their beer is fantastic. The service and atmosphere, though, is what keeps us coming back. The Broken Compass team works at both locations. Claire was our favorite team member but everyone on the team does a great job at inviting you to feel welcome. They're amazing. My favorite beer is their coconut porter. It has a hint of fresh coconut and is a lighter side of porter, not too syrupy. It's well balanced and might I dare say--it's perfect. That said, I haven't had a beer here that I didn't like. They have a great layout at the original location, though you wouldn't think it being in a commercial warehouse. There's a big garage door that opens in the back to outdoor seating. There's this amazing mural in the back of the building. The crowd there all seem to know each other which I am amazed at each time we visit. It's a more local vibe at the original location than the more touristy accessible location on Main Street. The original location has a super cozy vibe, lots of board games (or bring your own). It's a great place to hangout for a few hours. They also have a shuttle that takes patrons back to Main Street. Just call or ask the crew for more details. Again, favorite brewery in Breck. Thanks Claire and team! September 2024

I slept about 4 hours the night before to make it early for sunrise. To say that a few tasty beers were what the doctor ordered would be the understatement of the century! None of this matters, of course, to the good folks at Rocky Cut Brewing Company. This is off the main drag of Estes in an unassuming strip plaza. Humble vibes inside, a simple U-shaped bar top with seating all around, a few smaller tables, a community table, and a large patio with mostly picnic table seating. If you're lucky, snag a stool right along the Big Thompson River! Though, I recommend they fix the wooden placeholders for beers, they're leaning on the wrong side of history, we don't want any full glasses of beer reaching an unnecessary demise! Interference IPA * American IPA * 6.7% * 16oz ($7) From their website: "Climbing the Interference Boulder in Rocky Mountain National Park requires strength and power. This Colorado IPA showcases the power of hops with an intense blend forging citrus aromas with a pine forward finish. Featured ingredients: Cascade, El Dorado, Mosaic, Chinook, & Simcoe hops * Recommended adventure: hiking Black Lake, climbing the Twin Owls, skiing upper Hidden Valley." A perfectly apt description. I would summarize this beer just as they did, focusing on hops, citrus, and pine. Absolutely delicious, a memorable IPA in recent memory. I liked it so much I ordered it again and it tasted just as delicious the second time down! They also had a food truck outside, so safe to assume they do this often. Would love to try more of their beers during my next visit. Rock Cut, I see you!

The owner Phillip was drinking a Guinness at the bar when we arrived with his back to the door. No welcome. Just told us to sit anywhere. Turns out the whole family works there. Met the daughter Grace while perusing the menu. Not a lot of options but we tried the chicken wings with pints of Outlaw lager beer. Both were fairly tasty. Looking around at the tiny place made me think of a cozy little British pub. The tunes playing in the background were pleasant. The owner told us his story about buying the business and how his family worked there. Saturday afternoon had only three family members as the wife was out. As sweet as his daughter was, she was far too talkative to patrons and fairly ignored the two groups of people who came inside and sat down. Her dad was in the back washing dishes and we still waited 10 minutes to order our main dish. The other patrons even got up to look in back to see if anyone was working there because they were ignored. About ten minutes later the owner came around the corner but Daughter was still gossiping outside. He scurried around. We split the fish and chips between the two of us as well as the salad. I was not impressed with the food. The small pieces of battered fish were decent but the overcooked fries and the salad were NOT good. I was bummed. It's like they realize the fish portions are small and they overcompensate with too many fries. I really wanted to like the place. The salad dressing came in store bought packets. Bottom line; only come for the beer and you will be happy.

The beer is excellent, which is no surprise given their reputation. We also tried the sangria, and while it was definitely way to sweet for us, but it was very tasty. We appreciated that they also have a full bar, giving everyone plenty of options. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the atmosphere while looking over the menu. One of the reasons we originally chose to stop in was because they serve Rugby Scott beef. Rugby Scott is our favorite butcher in Denver, so seeing it on the menu immediately caught our attention. We ended up ordering the Italian beef sandwich. The flavor was very good, and the au jus was especially tasty. My only complaint was the size. For the price, it felt very small. We also ordered the Caesar salad with grilled chicken. The salad itself was fine and dressed well, but it didn't really have that classic Caesar flavor I was expecting. The bigger issue was the chicken, which was so dry that it crumbled in my mouth and had me reaching for my water between bites. Despite a couple of misses, we'd come back for the beer and the Rugby Scott burger.

Walking in on a cold February day, the mood and ambiance were warm and inviting. The downstairs bar was lively, and the wood ceiling and decor definitely gave off a classic aged lodge feel. We were seated upstairs per our Yelp reservations. A collection of canteens hung on the wall, which sparked a fun conversation and history lesson for my twins. Since they're part of the CamelBak and Stanley cup generation, they hadn't seen anything like them before. My son was impressed by the size of the kids' burger, and the fries were great. The rest of us had the NY Strip. I'd say it was good, but not great--though I did appreciate the blackened seasoning and the chimichurri. The grilled asparagus, however, was simply fantastic. The showstopper was the upside-down apple pie with what seemed to be homemade vanilla ice cream. Both were generous portions and kindly comped by our server for my birthday. I ordered my standard Ranch Water, though it unfortunately didn't come in their traditional canteen cup. Overall, it's a great spot. I look forward to visiting again on our next trip to Colorado.
