What a nice find. But to find it you must walk around to the side/back and go down steps. It has a great vibe with cozy seating up front and then tables and chairs for dining. As is fitting, they have lots of barrels and the distilling is seen through the glass windows along the wall. We started off with ordering cocktails- I loved my Dreamsicle. Happily they sell it in cans to take home (not quite as good but close). My husband actually liked their single malt. On to the food: the wings are terrific. Smoked but just the right amount of smokiness. Soup of day was pozole and it was tasty. We also ordered wedge salad, French dip, the GOAT and plain mary Jane burgers. This is a very lovely restaurant/distillery, it is in the lower level, out of the way of the other restaurants on the Main Street. Drinks: California dreamin' (special) - SO GOOD!!!! I have never had a drink containing moonshine that was so crisp and refreshing like this one. The specialty drinks are all made with the liquor that is made in house. Our server was great at answering all questions we had about the drinks and what made them special. We also tried the pineapple punch, this one was good but a little too sour for my liking. Starters: Brussel sprouts, literally the best ones I've had in a while. The game changer for them was the sweet chili sauce they had on top that gave them extra flavor. Main dish: The Goat Burger - raspberry puree, goat cheese crumbles and arugula, all on a smash burger with a toasted bun! It was so great, I loved every part about this burger, it was perfectly made and curated for a good bite every time. We got the sweet potato tots as a side with the house made ketchup, they were perfectly made with a crisp outside and warm inside. Dessert: rum cake and brownie, the cake was made with their made in house rum and had a nice strawberry sauce on top. The brownie could have been a little bigger as it was buried underneath a lot of ice cream and whipped cream but it was still very very good, the fudge they topped it with was so rich and delicious! One of my favorite cocktail bars/distilleries in Colorado. I haven't tried the food, but the cocktails are very well-crafted and the menu always offers interesting, reasonably priced drinks. It's cozy inside and a great way to warm up on a cold night. A Yelp search led us to this little gem. It's off the main road tucked behind and down a staircase. We didn't have a reservation and just wanted drinks. There wasn't a spot at a table or bar but they have a cozy little waiting area by the fireplace and the servers came to us. They have a cocktail menu, whiskey/rum menu, and a food menu. My partner sampled all the whiskey and the rum with a flight while I indulged in a Jack Rose as well as a Apple Butter Toddy. My partner didn't care for the single malt or the pineapple habanero extra he was given but he did enjoy the rest. The Jack rose had the perfect refreshing sweetness to it and the Apple Butter Toddy tasted exactly as it sounds. Perfect for any ski/snowboard trip. We had reservations elsewhere but the food looked delicious. I think the main dinning area could do with a little update as the furniture looked a little outdated. They have a prívate dinning room in the back that looked a little nicer for private events. The bathrooms were clean and while they did have high chairs, there were no changing tables in the restrooms even though there was ample space for one. I don't remember the total price for what we ordered but I do remember it being fair. I would come back and I would try the dinning experience next time. read more

We found this place during our recent Colorado trip for dinner and drinks, and what a wonderful experience we had :) I was impressed by its atmosphere as soon as we walked in - chill and warm. We were seated right away, and our server gave us an overview. Basically, I can pick my own flight, and each one is about 0.25oz for USD $1.00 to $1.50. I ordered the followings: - White Whiskey - Woodcutter's Bourbon - Rye Whiskey - Single Malt Whiskey - Rocky Mountain Gold (Rum) - Idlewild Vodka Single malt whiskey was my favorite (rich flavor with hints of smokiness), and the white whiskey was a pleasant surprise (smooth, balanced flavor): Food quality is quite high - definitely above average in the "pub food" category! Crispy Brussel Sprouts was freshly prepared - hot, crispy, and flavorful. Lamb Lollipops was good too - the lollipop part was a bit "gimmicky", but the lamb was tasty and the side salad made the dish well balanced. This used to be our favorite place in Winter Park, visiting every single time we were here (4-5 times per year). This is our first time back this winter and unfortunately, they went from a very high class menu to really poor bar food. We tried the wings, lettuce, wraps, and fries. Lettuce wraps in trouble fries were covered with a strange sauce unlike anything I've had with a similar dish which was overwhelming in a bad way. The wings were extremely dry and overdone. My child did have a cheeseburger, which is fine - but just fine. We had the chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich, which reminded me of Costco frozen chicken strips, but somehow drier than I could do by placing it in an air fryer for 45 mins. The waitress initially tried to make our experience good but after waiting 30 minutes for our second drink, we could tell she was not interested. This might be the greatest fall from grace I've ever seen for what used to be a great restaurant. Took one of the shuttle driver's suggestions for dinner and had dinner here. The entrance is one level down from the top row of shops. There are stairs to get down or you can walk around on the roadway. It was a cozy setting with dimmer lights than the stark illumination of fluorescent lighting. There is a nook by the faux fireplace with two sets of bench seating with barrel stools and low tables. She thought it would be easier to eat at the larger of the two so we moved as the other party were leaving. It was nice being in that niche as we had some privacy. Our server, Jordan, was attentive and friendly. So funny too. She started with an expresso martini which is vodka, coffee liqueur, frangelico, Irish cream, chocolate and nutmeg. I ordered an Idlewild Mule with idlewild vodka. It was delicious. She took a sip of mine and decided to get one after she finished her martini. Smooth and with vodka it was delicious. Appetizers were truffle fries with Parmesan and a roasted garlic truffle aioli. We also got the avocado bruschetta which is buttered crostini, avocado, tomatoes, fresh basil and a balsamic reduction drizzle. We both had the ahi yellowtail tuna poke which is sushi-grade yellowtail tuna, avocado, cucumber, wasabi tobiko and a sesame vinagrette. It came with wonton crisps which added a crunch to the dish. Idlewild was such a cool find - very interesting location and maybe easy to miss in the shopping center if you don't feel like being a bit of a detective, but that aside, we loved everything about Idlewild as soon as we walked in. Visually, it's a super cute place, with lots of wood accents, cool lighting fixtures, stone walls and whiskey barrels. Seating areas are sprinkled throughout the many rooms available for drinking and dining. The fireplace seating looked incredibly cozy as well as several areas amidst their whiskey barrel storage. The bar is our "go to" spot and so, we ended up there, of course. I enjoyed two mules after learning that they make their own ginger beer - a barrel aged mule (whiskey) that I loved and then another that I loved even more, the mom's mule made with vodka and mezcal. OMG. I met another of my loves, lol. The birthday boy with me enjoyed his usual Old Fashioned and then mixed it up with the Idelwild Sazerac. Both so yummy that we brought a bottle of the Idelwild Rye whiskey home with us. And, just in case you may think that they only have amazing drinks, our food was awesome as well - we shared the mushroom pinenut bruschetta and an amazing slice of cheesecake. Okay... I REALLY wanted to give this place 5 stars, but I just couldn't. Upon arrival I was immediately impressed at the ambiance - they really did an amazing job with their tasting room and bar. It feels so cozy whether you decide to sit at the bar or a table. They really knocked it out of the park with the decor. However, our initial service experience left much to be desired. The bartender was cold, not into talking about the spirits and just poured us our tasting as quick as possible before leaving us alone... but what really took the cake in making it a negative experience was our food. After 2 drinks each we finally ordered and got our food. We ordered the brats which I believe were SUPPOSED to be served warm, and I think they literally took them out of the fridge and gave them to us cold. I get that food needs to be pre-cooked, but you better remember to heat it back up!! When we complained, the bartender simply said "oh, that's strange" but did not offer to heat it up, comp us the meal, or give us a free drink. It was strange indeed. After all of that, I was down to about a 2-star review. However, we did finally get a chance to chat with the master distiller. After talking to him and listening to his passion about creating a unique and local Colorado spirit, we decided it was worth a few more stars. Bottom line: delicious and unique food, wonderful service, and a really cool atmosphere. My wife and I are staying in Granby for our anniversary, and came here for a dinner date. We got a seat on comfy chairs by the fireplace (so cozy!). Our server was Sarah; she was very friendly and attentive, and had perfect recommendations for us. We're not drinkers, but we were excited about the mocktails on the menu. We tried both, and they were delicious, as was their ginger beer. Food wise, we got the duck bacon wantons, the cashew chicken lettuce wraps, the sage butternut raviolis, and the Korean "bulgogi" spare ribs. We thought the lettuce wraps were okay, but everything else blew us away. The wantons were super creamy, and the dipping sauce it came with was delicious. The raviolis were super yummy, especially the mushrooms on top. And the ribs were so tender that the meat literally fell off after the first bite. They were kind enough to give us dessert on the house to celebrate our anniversary. We got the golden rum cake, and it was delicious. Idlewild Spirts was a fantastic stop after hiking with some out of state guests! We shared several tapas and tried some of their specialty cocktails. Moscow mules are my drink of choice so I of course had to try their version. I'm not usually into an ultra gingery mule, but this version hit all the right notes. It was definitely ginger heavy at the start but had a nice sweet finish to really balance it out! As for tapas, my husband and I got the crispy brussel sprouts and bacon mac n cheese. We did sample our friends tots and kebabs which were both good but neither stood out. The mac and cheese was quite delicious and ultra creamy with a great crispy bacon bite!
