I had them installed a new opener some years ago and it needed a new belt, I looked up the model number on the unit and sent it to CVOD, they said it's under warranty so I ordered a replacement and they installed it for no cost. The service was excellent and the installer knew what he was going. I love the belt drive because it's quite and the belt and drive sprocket lasted 20+ years which means I bought a very good model a 1/3 hp. I wouldn't hesitate contacting them for anything associated with my garage door and hopefully your experience will be the same. read more

We had a quote from a few garage vendors and landed on Central Valley Overhead Door because of the price and the reviews. This review is for work done a couple of years ago. We were able to get an automatic garage door installed and the old one taken out in about 1-2 days. The process went smoothly. However, when I called within that next before the warranty was over to try and get someone to service the door, the man on the line seemed very annoyed and would not send anyone over -- he even said "if I send someone over and it's just basic maintenance then you're going to be charged for the visit." It was not kind and neither was it forward looking to try and maintain positive relationships with their customers. I didn't bother calling back. I think they can definitely work on that and also on advising on maintenance plans after they install. read more

Zero stars. I called to get an estimate for replacing a garage door opener. I sent a picture of the Liftmaster unit I wanted. I was given a quote and told that the unit we had discussed was attached to my order. I was told someone would call to schedule an appointment. When that did not happen, I called again to do so. The first available appointment was three days later, so I waited. When the technician arrived, he said he did not have that unit but could upgrade me to one that has a belt and a camera and is much better. However, the new unit would cost over $400 more. What?! I had agreed on a product and a price. I do not appreciate the attempted bait-and-switch. I called the office to complain and was told that they would check with the technician and get back to me. Sometimes things occur but it is the way the company responds to the issue that makes the difference. Sometimes it is just one person who saves the reputation of the company and makes me willing to continue to do business with them. Not this time. This time it was a team of people. I have never had an issue arise and the whole team was on 1 page and all willing to make a solution happen. Danny, the service tech who initially came out was friendly, knowledgeable, and truly cared about getting things resolved. In good faith and ethically speaking he would not charge me since the issue was not able to be resolved. Dustin, the guy who called me later in the day to let me know what the company decision was. He was friendly, calm, and reassuring. He had a game plan and laid it out for me. Tyson, a guy I have done business with before. The behind-the-scenes manager and the guy who could have made this event turn out differently. I thank him for taking care of the client. Lastly, Jory, the final tech who came out and was able to install and program what he could. He was friendly, professional, and kind. They all took their time, looked for solutions and tried to resolve an issue. I do not know who the owner is, but they say that the atmosphere and tone of a company starts from the top. Well owner you are either doing something right, or you are just extremely lucky to be blessed with so many wonderful people in one place. The actions of your employees will certainly give me loyalty to you and your company for future doors and service and I will tell everybody that asks me if I know someone, I will say I do. The openers are still not linked with My Q, but it wasn't for lack of effort, and they were able to sync them to my vehicle so I don't have to jump out every time to open and close the garage doors. If you are ever in the area and can have a tech walk through with Lift master so that it all works with their app and technology, I will definitely update this review and/or write another. In the meantime, I am grateful and thankful to your team. If anyone reading this review wonders if they should use this company after reading this, I hope you do. I highly recommend this company. Who gets excited about a garage door and opener upgrade/replacement? I do! Having checked out the services of 2 other companies, CVOD impressed me far beyond the lackluster faceforward from its competitors. The other folks didn't even smile when meeting or say hello. Why would you want to give them your business? If that's the 'first impression' they're putting forward, things aren't going to go well. Just imagine if you had an issue down the line... And guys, IF you're 'the face' of your business, family or otherwise, that first impression is kinda important, no? It's Sales 101 and if you don't know that, good luck to you. If you didn't bring a smile to work, you're going to be losing sales. CVOD has a large showroom and clearly has 'scale' to their advantage (and yours). I appreciated the quotes I got and from Mike fielding all of my questions, despite having dropped by unannounced. Jaun, my estimator, who also did the install is top-notch. Besides spending a generous amount of time addressing all of my questions (and believe me folks, I've got a lot of them), he was just easy to work with and pleasant. Nice face forward, Jaun! I went with a modern flush panel number with 4 long narrow double insulated frosted glass windows. The core insulation of the door is the best available on the market (almost R-18). As with any appliance or other key item, I carefully consider the quality and design of something I'm going to be using and looking at for the next 20 years. In this case I studied specs and products in the market for 8 months before purchase. I upgraded the coils and hinges to a higher quality/life cycle...because you only get one install so don't be cheap... Let's talk openers: What, other than a new flagship Apple watch, phone and iPad gets me excited is a state-of-the-art garage door opener! Enter the wi-fi connected Jackshaft 8500 W with battery back up, 2 remotes, LED lighting with motion detection and wireless keypad. You can open the door over the internet remotely to let a visitor or delivery guy inside and then close it (anywhere in the world with internet access). The system will alert you if the door has been opened, left open and the length of time. The application tracks and lists all the opens and closings, duration of event and will email you an alert. You track the history in the MyQ application. You can even assign up to 3 additional people by 'inviting them' to download the application giving them access too. What a system! The Jackshaft sits to only ONE side of your door. I had my electrician install an outlet to accommodate it. Love how the area in the middle of the ceiling is now clear of obstructions and stuff hanging down. It feels nice and open. Really attractive. I considered voice control but ruled it out. Does one REALLY want a voice controlled system with a garage door system? Me thinks not! I added all the accessories, including the wireless LED, motion detection, light, wireless external keypad. With my old door, I had to open the garage door for the light to turn on. With the new system, as soon as I open the garage door (or inner house door), the motion detection turns the light on. Yeah, it's a little thing but it's those little things that add up to a 'next level experience.' My old door was an aluminum oven, uninsulated and sits on the east side of the house. Up until noon, it PUMPS heat into my garage (muffins and biscuits take only about 30 minutes). It also did not close/seal completely since it's 30+ years old. Leaves and dust would always come in. And, peeps, it was NOISY! Was that a train 'scraping/derailing off the tracks' or was it my garage door opening and closing? lol The Jackshaft is super quiet and the replacement prospects were more exciting than merely upgrading my iPad or phone.... This project starts the sealing and weatherizing of my garage space. My pallet of Roxul 30-R insulating panels is coming! And, least you miss the point, the house will be warmer/cooler. Hot, lower PG&E bills, Dog! I also appreciated the insider tour they gave me of their business, the owner's 'Star Trek themed' office and the attention. Regarding the whole experience: I really appreciated the continuity I experienced with this company. My sales guy, Michael, was the one who contacted me 6 weeks after ordering to schedule the install. Since I'd already worked with him, that was nice not being handed off to a stranger. Jaun, who came to measure and finalize my door options WAS actually the same individual who installed the door! Again, that continuity was valuable! He'd been with the company for over 16 years and did fantastic job with the little details!! Top Points- 1. CALL THIS COMPANY FIRST :) 2. Best price for installing a new garage door opener, $125. 3. Really great customer service. Brandon in the office was very helpful and informative with what my options were. 4. I needed to call day of to reschedule the appointment and they did not charge me a fee or anything 5. Jory, the technician, was fast, knowledgeable and courteous. We needed to replace our garage door opener as the one we had decided 2021 was too much also and went kaput just before the end of the year. When you need a new garage door opener you can either purchase one through the company or you can buy one from home depot at a lower price and have a company do the install. That is the route we went to help save some money. I contacted several companies for a quote on the install, highest quote was $275 and a lot were over $200. I was shocked when I called Central Valley Overhead Door and they quoted me $125. Honestly, I wish I would have called them first to save me the time. The original garage door opener, installed in 1980, gave up the ghost while we were away. Poor thing may have died of loneliness and/or heat stroke. It had to be replaced. Seeing an ad in the Fresno Bee for Central Valley Overhead, hubby checked into the company, called them, and in three days the installer came, at the time promised, and quickly dismantled the old door opener, taking it with him, and installed the new one which works like a charm. Just hope it keeps going for 32 years like the original. read more

I called them out for estimates on replacing some damaged panels or a full blown replacement (door, tracks, springs, etc.) The rep was pleasant enough and pretty chatty and spent about 30 minutes collecting information. He said my tracks and springs were in good shape, so I was inclined to go with panel replacement (3 of the 4 were damaged). I was concerned about a color match since my door was 20 years old, so I asked about replacing all 4 panels, and he tells me that it would cost the same amount as a full door replacement. Let's get this straight: They charge the same for 4 panels as they do for 4 panels, new tracks, new springs, etc. It sounded like BS, but I let it slide. He said they would email estimates to me in 2-3 days. That was almost 2 weeks ago. I guess I wasn't worth wasting time on since I was only interested in a basic door and not something high-end. I know under the current high demand/low supply situation that contractors can pick and choose their jobs. Why waste time and manpower on a $2500 garage door install instead of one that costs $8000? Dishonest and a waste of time with this company. I only called them because they installed the door when my house was built and their phone number was on it. Oh, yeah. I found a reputable company to replace all 4 panels, and guess what? Replacing 4 panels was HALF the price of a full installation. read more

Had a 1pm- 2pm appointment today for CVOD to show up and convert my dual spring Torquemaster Plus to a single spring system (right side TM spring broke). Got a text at 12:15pm alerting me that Jory was on his way. He arrived at 12:30pm and was polite, professional, and on it! He answered my questions w/out rushing and had the job done perfectly in 30 min. I usually fix these things myself, but due to extended shipping time for replacement springs, opted to call in the pro's. I would gladly spend that money with them again!! I had two new doors and openers installed at my home. I had already installed a remote keypad to open one of the doors from the outside that worked with the old openers. They did not program the keypad so I called to see if they could walk me through the process. I was told that there was no one there that knew how to do this but for $80.00 they could send out a service technician. I asked to speak to a manager and was told someone would return my call. It has been 5 days and no return call. In my opinion, poor customer service. read more

Saturday morning at 10:00am I called thinking that I would get an answering machine, leave a message & wait for a phone call on Monday. Not the case! A very nice gentleman answered the phone, listened to my story about the sounds my garage door was making & set up an appointment. "Mario will be there between 2:00-3:00." Wow, he knew the name of the person coming out and the time was only a one hour window. Nice. Mario called 15 minutes out & arrived right at 3:00. He was knowledgable and friendly. I had a Liftmaster installed 13 years ago. Since early on, I have had nothing but trouble. I have to raise and lower the door manually. Trolley shakes and give out a very loud noise. Going on the Internet confirmed my suspicions. Unit was improperly installed. I had them out to replace the springs and then another time for an adjustment. Seems like all of these visits would have found the problem. I will never use this company and will not recommend them--EVER! Now I have to find a qualified person to come and fix it and pay more money. read more

How to call a different garage company out due to my home warranty but had used Central Valley before and knew they were trustworthy. I was so fortunate to reach Ivan on the phone. He knew more than the LiftMaster customer service representative. He also knew about upcoming laws affecting garage door openers. I was so impressed with his knowledge about LiftMaster and his knowledge about garage doors in general next time I'm just going to pay the money out of pocket and forget the home warranty's company that they force upon me. they sent the same company over and over and over and it was from out of town, the Bay Area specifically, and I would much prefer to use a local company that really knows what they're doing like this one. When it's comes to specialized labor, like garage doors, it's so easy for the customer to be ill informed. My garage door spring broke a few weeks back. Cory explained what he thought happened, generally how much it would cost if it was just the spring and then we scheduled an appt. The tech called me and came right on schedule. The garage door still wouldn't function properly due to a belt. He had every opportunity to charge me a ton of money. Instead, they processed a warranty and are installing the new belt with minimal labor. What a breathe of fresh air. Amazing customer service. Thanks for being one of the rare ones. read more

A spring broke on our LiftMaster overhead door. I called the original installer who first said that they couldn't work on it for a couple of days unless, wait for it... for an additional $80 they could fit me in right away! When I called Central Valley they came within the hour, Replaced both springs and tuned up the whole mechanism. Gustavo, the technician, was courteous and efficient and was finished with the job in no time. I'm very pleased with the service and will recommend this company to anyone who asks. read more

Central Valley Overhead Doors replaced the gears in our older Chamberlain garage door opener back in early 2012 when it broke down. It's worked great ever since and was less expensive than replacing the entire garage door opener. It only required 1 visit from them and took about an hour of work. Great service. I called 8am this morning and the rep told me that Charles will be at my house around 3 to 5 pm. He was at my house at 2:40 pm. He took a look at my garage and was able to tell right away that I needed a new spring. Rather than having to wait for him to order or come back with one, he was able to fix it within less than 30 mins! I damaged my garage door and contacted CV Overhead since they were previously recommended by Granville. Danny came out to provide an estimate, which was timely and upon receiving an estimate asked if I should obtain another estimate for comparison. He said yes but they are the largest supplier in Fresno and they have a lowest price guarantee. Went to Phillips and their estimate was $13 ($996 v $983). Since there so minimal difference, went back to CV asked that they match. The receptionist seem to know nothing about their policy. Came back on the phone and said that they would need a written estimate from Phillips. I thought the request was ridiculous for $13 so I called back to cancel my order. This time a guy answered the phone. Very kurt and said ok. I guess they have so much business around the valley including builders that the individual orders are meaningless. Glad I found out about their attitude towards customer service before spending nearly $1,000 with them. Phillips was very friendly and they will replace the door. read more

We bought a new garage door, complete with a new opener (a lift master brand). After the technition left we noticed the newly installed opener opened the next door neighbor's door every time we used it. The company blamed in on the neighbor's opener, even though his system was unaffected by my old opener. They actually tried to sell him a new system. This company did not and will not stand behind their product. I would not recommend them for any services. UPDATE: After going on television news with our complaint the company contacted the neighbor (not me) and agreed to supply him with a new opener, free of charge. I still would not recommend this company. It was only after a TV appearance that he agreed to make things right. SECOND UPDATE. Just discovered that when they installed the garage door it prevented us from opening built in cabinets on one side of the garage. Need I say it? I cannot stress it enough...I do not recommend that you use their services. read more
