Mongolian, all you can eat !
    Tony J.

How did I forget to write this review?! Because I really loved it here! A friend suggested that he buys me lunch, and I know that Friend likes to eat, so this was the best place to go ! There are not too many all you can eat restaurants, and this one is totally within reason price-wise. Additionally, I need to add some more pictures because of pictures worth 1000 words. Furthermore, The food was delicious, so many choices on protein, ask the chef which sauces are the best before they put it on the fryer, the big wok! I always give them a nice tip as well.

To start I enjoy a good buffet but never been a huge fan of Mongolian BBQ. Just not my style and its been many many years since I've had any. Having said that I visited this establishment recently. Here's the rundown: Likes - Affordable price for Ayce ($22) - Spacious with plenty comfy seating - Friendly Service from servers - Tasty flavored Iced teas (was told it was brewed fresh and the peach/passion fruit syrups were good) - fresh sesame bread came piping hot every time Dislikes - Beef meat was tough like jerky. Maybe because it was thin and combined with raw veggies that take longer to cook. If I had to do it over I would cook meats separately from other ingredients and request medium rare. - boba bad texture not good (1/5) - near closing time they started mopping area with bleach which is not healthy to breath (they should use natural less invasive cleaning solutions or wait until customers leave). - white rice was too hard - unfriendly cooks - no fruits or free desserts Overall there is room for improvement. 3 stars as it stands.

Goated $22 ayce deal. Food tastes as good as you make it. Cooks were super quick and nice

    Good food

Great quality and reasonable prices. Server was attentive with drink refills. Good quality food and nice variety. Everything was cooked nicely. I'll definitely be coming back. Nice and clean Only negative is the soup was bland, but not a big deal here.

It's all you can eat! It's a great price. Food wise it wasn't my favorite but maybe I need to try again. Our toddlers loved the noodles. Service was amazing. I think the inside is quite beautiful.

    They clean the grill often.

Come hungry, and leave overly full! This is an AYCE Mongolian BBQ, which means you don't have to testris and smash your bowl, although you're probably gonna do it anyway. The line for the grill can get long, but it moves at a decent pace. Arriving in between regular meal times would be smart. They try to keep the food areas clean, although they also can get messy quickly. They do a good job of keeping everything stocked, too. Solid Mongolian BBQ experience, for sure.

Big Wok is an AYCE all you can eat restaurant. Prices are very affordable. Pretty good selection of food options, chicken, pork, beef, lamb. Shrimp is available on holidays, weekends, and dinner. They had a good selection of fresh greens, vegetables, tofu, pineapple, noodles, etc... you can add to your plate. They cook everything in front of you on a big wok. Sides of fried or white rice included. Though they didn't appear to have any deserts. They have a good amount of booths and tables large enough for groups. Service was friendly. Would recommend.

The all-you-can-eat concept is simple and fun -- you grab a bowl, load it up with fresh meats, veggies, noodles, and sauces, then watch the chefs cook everything on the large hot grill. If you're looking for customizing your own meal, and interactive dining experience, Big Wok Mongolia BBQ is definitely worth checking out.

If you are a fan of Mongolian BBQ, then Big Wok is for YOU! Growing up, loving to eat at Genghis Khan in my local mall..those who know what I mean, knows wassup lol ~ this place brought back a lil bit of nostalgia to my taste buds. The same fresh ingredients and wok'd cooking is still all there. Now, you just get to enjoy it in a sit-down environment. It's located in a plaza in Lake Forest, adjacent to a 24 hour fitness on the corner of Bake & Rancho Pkway. The inside is spacious, so perfect for large groups. We actually housed my son's bball team (10 teenagers + parents) here for lunch, after a local tournament once. Lemme tell ya, it was a kid pleaser. There are large tvs on both ends of the restaurant, idea for any bball/football game night. I low-key, selfishly wanna gate-keep Big Wok (because I don't want it to get too crowded for when I come lol), but being that it's likely the only surviving and last of it's kind all-you-can-eat Mongolian buffet, I feel the need to share my love for helping small businesses thrive & grow, in this dog eat dog world. Thus..here we are. For those who don't know what Mongolian BBQ is..lemme edumacate you. Customers get to create their own stir-fry bowls (to be eaten with rice, egg noodles or with sesame bread) with a wide selection of fresh meats, vegetables, and sauces. It's cooked fresh on a large wok by chefs, right in front of you.. My fam & I have been going here for years, due to its affordability for being AYCE. The servers are great and super attentive. They are proactive about clearing your empty plates, so you can go back for another round. Always ask for the sesame bread..it's unlimited too (obvi, if you aren't allergic to sesame that is)..it's sooo yums! Super crispy and piping hot. My hubs like to open it and stuff it like a hot pot with his concoction of mixed veggies & protein. My kids absolutely LOVE it here and it's definitely one of our go-to monthly food stops. MUST TRY & RxFoodie recommended. :) Bon appetit!!!

A hidden gem if you're craving mongolian bbq and your local mall no longer has it in the food court. Came here for dinner with the family and the line was long to get in. The price is decent for AYCE and kids under 34 inches eat free. They offer one type of food, a variety of vegetables, and several options for protein. I think it's a great deal if you're trying to satisfy everyone but for strict vegetarians it may not be since all the food is cooked on the same surface.

Review is for take out. Upon walking in, I let them know that I was doing take out and they gave me instructions on how to order. You grab a bowl and go down the line adding anything that appeals to you. They have a good selection of meat and veggies and at the end you add your sauces. The trick is to try and get as much as you can in the bowl. Once done, you head over to the skillet and they fry everything up for you. Their prices are a little high for take out, but I'll try again for sit down ayce.

    Service is quick!

They guide you and prep the grill so you can cook your meat. We tried basically one of everything. I loved most of the meats, some I could do without. Overall the restaurant is pretty spacious. Decoration is nice and I just loved how excited and enthusiastic all the workers were to serve you and give you all the information you needed about what you ordered. In Chinese cuisine, some barbecue meats and cold dishes are prepared in advance and may be served at room temperature or reheated before serving. Using a microwave does not automatically mean the food is low quality or not fresh. It can simply be part of the serving process. Chicken and duck are also commonly chopped and served with the bones still inside. This is a very traditional way of preparing and serving these meats, although customers who are unfamiliar with this style may find it inconvenient. The food here tastes authentic, and in my opinion, Frank's BBQ is one of the best traditional Chinese barbecue restaurants in Orange County. Inedible Garbage…read more Back on Sunday, September 17, 2023, my wife and I decided to order dinner using Grubhub. BBQ was on our mind and we found Texas Pit Bar-B-Que on the app. Noticing they offered brisket and three-types of ribs, we placed an order for two brisket plates and an order of Louisiana-style ribs. Let's just go ahead and establish that this restaurant does NOT offer Texas-style anything. Far from it. I should have known when I was prompted to choose how I wanted the brisket prepared, with the selections ranging from "rare" to "well done," like I was ordering a steak. I chose "medium well," despite the fact that this should not have even been a question. The brisket arrived looking like over-sauced, burnt pulled pork. I never saw the option to select between sliced or chopped, but I certainly wanted sliced, juicy brisket with that nice pink smoke ring. Instead, I got sloppy-joe meat that had more sauce in it than it had meat. And, as for that nice "smokey" flavor that one expects from smoked meat, this garbage tasted like it was smoked over literal garbage. No idea what kind of wood they are using, but the "smoke" flavor of this dried, burnt, chopped, over-sauced abomination was seriously off-putting. The ribs were no better. One wants rib meat to "slide off the bone." These were "gnaw off the bone" tough. They were absolutely horrible. Very tough, over-sauced, and like the brisket, they had the same off-putting "garbage" smoke flavor. The beans were undercooked, hard, and mostly soupy sauce that tasted like they had been seasoned with a can of Manwich. The French fries were undercooked, and the potato salad was just plain not good. However, the coleslaw was acceptable, and the cornbread was actually pretty good. If I had ordered only slaw and cornbread, I would have probably been satisfied. Instead, after tipping the driver, I spent $109 on this meal, a meal that could have been beat by the worst McDonald's visit. The bottom line is that if they cannot do any better than this, Texas Pit Bar-B-Que should consider closing their doors. In fact, given how poor the reviews are here on Yelp, I'm extremely surprised that they are still open. Some of the reviews seem to indicate that they used to be a decent place to dine. If that is true, based on my experience, those days have long past. My guess is that they are able to survive only because tourists and individuals new to the area go there without reading the reviews. That's what happened to my wife and I. Lesson learned.

It came with 2lbs of brisket, 2 racks of ribs, 1lb of sausage, 24 pieces of bbq chicken, coleslaw, cornbread, mac n cheese, homemade potato chips, a peach cobbler, and a gallon of lemonade! The brisket was perfectly cooked with a nice smokey flavor and quite juicy. The house sausage was great, I could eat it every day. The chicken was so good with just a bit of char for that nice grilled taste. The ribs were amazing! They fell off the bone and had a perfect bite to them. Their bbq sauce is really good too, not too sweet yet smokey. Coleslaw was good and fresh. The mac n cheese was gooey and so cheesy. The chips were actually really nice, crispy, and salty. The cornbread was delicious especially with their whipped honey butter on top. For dessert I couldn't ask for a better bite than from the peach cobbler with their homemade whipped cream on top. The staff were all so nice when I went to pick up my order. Even though they were swamped for the holiday they were calm and did everything with a smile. There were 2 dining rooms that I saw so it looks like a ton of space. There's also a whole display where you can grab some bbq sauce or hot sauce to buy. It also changed the tip I entered to auto apply their own tip. After I paid, it showed me my total that they already collected payment for PLUS the tip they decided they wanted to force me to add. How could this be legal? I immediately called the restaurant but no one was answering the phone. Went to the restaurant and explained the situation to the cashier who told me I am the second person today to complain about this! She was unable to refund the tip that they took the liberty of applying themselves but I left my phone number and am still waiting to hear from the manager, otherwise I will have to take this up with my bank. Now for the food, I ordered a brisket sandwich and a side of mac and cheese. The brisket was not trimmed and it's inedible unless you like a mouthful of fat in every bite. Every single slice of brisket on my sandwich was just a slab of fat with a little meat hidden inside. I had to clean it myself and once I did there was barely any meat in my sandwich. I am attaching photos so you can see how pathetic it looks. Had I dined at the restaurant I would've sent this back or shown them how much fat I removed and asked them to bring me the equivalent in MEAT not fat, which I paid for! I would love to hear from management about what happened here regarding the deceptive pricing. As far as the food, not sure if they just have gotten lazy and don't trim their meat anymore but anyone who knows bbq knows the effort needed to properly clean brisket and that was certainly overlooked here. $25 total for a fat sandwich and a side of super oily mac and cheese. Definitely not happy in the slightest.
