I hired Sias W. Parsons IV, Derek Parker, and Ryan Riggs from Big Yeti Builders LLC in Ogden, Utah, to demolish an existing deck, construct a new deck, and install a Renaissance Classico cover over a portion of it. The cover has leaked since shortly after installation, causing water to pool on the deck and creating a slipping hazard from ice buildup. I first contacted the company for warranty support after the initial leak in the fall of 2025. Derek Parker came out and retaped the seams on the awning, stating that this was the repair method recommended by the manufacturer, Renaissance. After the first snow in early December and then thaw, the awning began leaking severely. On December 4, 2025, I reached out again and left multiple voicemail messages and emails requesting assistance but received no return communication. On December 18, 2025, after I sent an email, the company finally acknowledged my concerns via email, took responsibility for the lack of communication, and promised to schedule warranty work. However, as of January 19, 2026, no further action nor communication has taken place. Because the office phone is not answered and voicemail messages are not returned, I requested via email that someone come out between January 9 and January 16, 2026, to at least document the situation including written notes, photos, and a detailed description of the problem and to confirm next steps for repair since we understand it may be a challenge to repair in the winter time. That request has gone unanswered. In my experience, Big Yeti Builders and its representatives have not followed through on their stated commitments regarding warranty service. Communication with the office manager, Kim Crandall, when she does answer the phone, has also not resulted in any confirmed action or resolution. As of January 19, 2026, their contractor license (#10687874-5501) expired. This review is based solely on my personal experience with this company. I have nothing but good things to say about these guys. Contacted them about an estimate for replacing my deck. Bill came out to my house on a Saturday to do it. When we decided to use these guys he came back on a Saturday to do our contract. He stuck to the estimate he gave us and gave us exactly what we wanted. He even took the time to discuss how the deck should be rebuilt so that it will last longer. They came out on a Tuesday and started in. Torn down the old deck, cleaned up the area, then stared in on the new deck. By the end of the day most of the new deck was done. The next day was finishing up the trim and installing the railing. Again, once it was done they did a great job cleaning up the area. Saving this company's business card for other work I need done in the future. They are worth it. read more

Where do I even start?! We just had a deck built in 6 days by them and it looks amazing. The workers are so detailed in everything they do. They arrived on time. They worked no matter what the weather was doing, one it was a day it snowed, rained, hailed and was sunny for small moments and yet they worked through it all. They were reasonably priced. We checked out a couple of deck companies and Big Yeti was a little more but their material was much higher quality with a longer warranty. To me that was worth the extra. I had lots of questions and Bill was awesome to communicate with. He met me at their warehouse to go over samples, he answered my texts and phone calls quickly. Seriously if you want amazing work done go with them. Their workers go beyond the call of duty. They noticed my elderly neighbor unloading cement from the pack of a truck. My crew of 6 guys went over there and unloaded it for him! Seriously, so kind! They also trimmed a tree for us that was so over grown, they asked us if they could beforehand. It was one of those things I just hadn't gotten around to it! When installing my sliding door the guy noticed my kitchen needed to be caulked and he did it! Their attention to detail shows through in every aspect. From the start, to the job and to the clean up. They were also so kind my kids liked watching them and talking to them. My dog wanted to be by them as much as he could. They were so kind dealing with my crazy zoo. I will definitely be saving up and using them for more work in the future! Bill came out, discussed our options and stated that he could have this done in a week's time. My husband and I were skeptical as we have had other contractors work on our house and have fallen though on their promises but we decided to give Big Yeti Builders a try. Boy, are we glad we did! One of the things I enjoy least about home-ownership is fixing anything in it. I'm not a handy person. When I work with tools, I usually causes more damage than repair. At the end of last summer, I was quite sure that I needed to have our deck redone, as another coat of stain wasn't going to cut it. I took a few months reaching out to friends that had done recent remodeling and it was my bishop that recommended Big Yeti Builders. I spoke with Bill and was able to get a design and estimate done within a week. Not only did it fit my budget, they seemed like they were able to give me more than I expected. Then, they showed up. I was a little freaked out, as they looked like some rough-and-tumble characters. Turns out appearance can definitely be deceiving, as these guys came in, worked harder than I've ever seen & appeared to have a great time while customizing my new deck to be everything I was hoping it could be. Now, I have an amazing entertaining area in my backyard and couldn't be happier with the results. I had a decrepit 8x10 deck which was past being a safety hazard. It was a matter of when, not if, it was going to crash down. I found Big Yeti Builders in my neighborhood and decided to give them a call. Bill was very prompt and showed up on time. I explained what I wanted and I received a very favorable bid the next day that I accepted. I planned on them starting in September but scheduling allowed them to start a month early. Fine by me! One day to tear down and 2.5 days to rebuild and extend my deck. Wow. I am amazed at how well my new deck looks. They have superb work quality, attention to detail, and absolute craftsmanship. Big Yeti just finished up a major overhaul of our deck in Kaysville. The project took three days to complete. They used the finest materials and their workmanship was top-notch. These guys came out for a small section of fence. Even though it was a small job, I felt like I was a top priority.
