I had repairs done a year ago when someone hit me, and he was thorough and did excellent work. This year, during a snowstorm, when a tree hit me (pesky trees jumping out and hitting our cars is a big problem in Central New York), I once again took it back knowing I'd have tremendous work done. I was not disappointed. Even a minor dent I put in the truck loading a hay bale was fixed (without me asking, or being charged) so that the truck looked like new. The cherry on top is the detailing they do to the inside of your vehicle - whether it was related to the damage done or not. It's like you're getting a brand new vehicle when you pull out of there. Mary Lou and the rest of the front counter staff are tremendously friendly, and keep you informed all along the way. This place is the example for how every business should operate with regard to customer service. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. They're just that good.

Before I even made it to Alabama my A/C compressor went out and I had a service engine light for a gas leak. I took it to a repair shop when I got down there and was told no one could work on the vehicle because it the entire bottom of the vehicle was rusted out and could cause further damage if they tried to work on anything. I ended up having to get rid of the car and ultimately lost $6500 in less than a months time.

I was charged $700 for them to tow me, kill a $300 battery and not do ANY work. I would rather be stranded on the side of the road than let anyone from that company touch any of my vehicles again. Steve and Devin from Johnston's showed up in less than 20 minutes after my wife called AAA. I could not be more impressed with the expertise they both demonstrated in freeing our car. From the very deep snow, they pulled the car, with my wife and dog still in it, backward onto a flat bed. They got to our house, then backed up the long curving driveway in very poor visibility and deposited the car just where I wanted it in front of the garage. I was initially drawn to them by the 5 star reviews, but trust me and go elsewhere for your repairs. Turns out Sprague's has been acquired by a private equity firm as of 1/31. I'm guessing that is the issue but either way, be warned that customer service is the last thing you will receive if you deal with this place.
