Tika's business is a tiny bit hard to find...your GPS will tell you that you have arrived and you will be in the middle of Crater Lake Avenue wondering if you are drunk or crazy. You might be, but Visions of Wonderland is a tucked away corner of one of the three buildings on the corner lot there. Essentially, pull in like you are going to Squeeze-In Sandwich shop and drive around the building to the back. Tucked in the corner you will find Visions! Tika has a great attitude, a fun style, serves up coffee, tea and sometimes a sweet snack. You can bring your own beverages and snacks, as well. Tika is patient and talks the class easily through the painting, even challenging ones! I've been following Visions of Wonderland on Facebook for the last few months, and I love how Tika keeps it interesting, promotes the different classes, for kids, different media and she also takes suggestions for new ideas! We came a little late and missed the music, but did see their fantastic stage set up for concerts, right in front of the large pond - a very pretty set-up. I participated in a political election gathering of about 50 people. The building was a nice,…read morecovered, open-air venue with stainless steel wine fermentation tanks as the backdrop. Food and drink included an eclectic selection of mixed drinks, wines, specialty liquors, and mixers. My drink included some beautiful accoutrements -- edible flowers and exotic herbs -- served in a large wine glass with a 4 cm dia. ice sphere (instead of cubes) for visual appeal, better chilling, and less dilution. There was also an appetizing spread of finger foods, charcuterie, and crudités. A live music group with a nice repertoire of memorable tunes gave people a reason to dance. Toward the end of the event, when activities started to slow, Linda provided a tour of the indoor space with casks. She explained that the space is available for meetings, entertainment, and special events. There's a great picture of that area on the Urban Cork website.
