I participated in a political election gathering of about 50 people. The building was a nice, covered, open-air venue with stainless steel wine fermentation tanks as the backdrop. Food and drink included an eclectic selection of mixed drinks, wines, specialty liquors, and mixers. My drink included some beautiful accoutrements -- edible flowers and exotic herbs -- served in a large wine glass with a 4 cm dia. ice sphere (instead of cubes) for visual appeal, better chilling, and less dilution. There was also an appetizing spread of finger foods, charcuterie, and crudités. A live music group with a nice repertoire of memorable tunes gave people a reason to dance. Toward the end of the event, when activities started to slow, Linda provided a tour of the indoor space with casks. She explained that the space is available for meetings, entertainment, and special events. There's a great picture of that area on the Urban Cork website. If you're an oenophile (aka wine nerd) like I am, then this is the place for you. It's a local secret that underneath the covers of 20+ wineries of the Southern Oregon scene are the amazing talents of Linda Donovan. Local wineries give their grapes and vision to Linda, and her team delivers the ambrosia of wine. And, she's a nice, welcoming lady too. Urban Cork is a tasting experience that rotates a flight of wines from these various wineries, on a 2 day rotating cycle, which keeps things fresh and interesting for those wanting to explore the local variety. And the staff here is passionate about the end to end process and result of wine making...these aren't just server hacks, but serious folks who love the product and engage with about all things wine. That's my kind of people, right there. I also recommend the charcuterie plates, which come in 3 sizes, all at very reasonable cost, in my opinion. I've seen similar offerings for 2-3x the cost, so snack away with a nice meat and cheese pairing. What a cute place! And kids are allowed which is nice. Wine is predominantly what they do, but they do offer beer and cider as well as a charcuterie board in different sizes. They have a ton of wine options so I recommend the wine flight which is only $7 and has five wines that include red and white! It's off Main St. so there is a small parking lot. read more

Been meaning to come here for a while, as have been a fan of Linda Donovan wines for sometime. Sure glad we did. Scott was very personable and right amount of conversation. Wines are reasonably priced. They rotate tasting flights frequently of many different wines that Linda makes for her own label and many other Southern Oregon Wines that she is the Winemaker for. What a terrific find while visiting Medford. Great selection of wines to taste and buy. They also carry a few beers and ciders for your non wine drinking friends. Our hostess was very friendly and knowledgeable. She steered us to some great tastes and a nice bottle. The space is nice, spacious and comfortable. Stopped by this place on a Sunday evening. Pretty quiet. A few couples. The decor is so well done. Super cool urban vibe! We were immediately greeted by who we now know is the owner & one of the winemakers Linda Donovan. Nice, pleasant, helpful, informative! I could go on & on! Urban cork offers wine tastings from Oregon wines. My understanding is the wines offered were created by the winemakers here. The flights rotate every two days!! How awesome is that? The flight we tasted included six really yummy wines. We showed up to simply check this place out & taste some unfamiliar wine. We were certainly not looking to buy wine, but left with a case! We snacked on an absolutely delicious meat & cheese platter. This place is just slightly off downtown Medford's beaten path in the Liberty Park District. There is plenty of space to accommodate large parties. I would imagine a large party would definitely enhance the awesome atmosphere, but we discovered it's absolutely charming with just a few strangers bellied up to the bar, sipping wine, having nice conversation while music softly fills the air. I love that Medford is getting cool places like this. If you are reading this trying to decide if this is somewhere you want to check out, do it! You won't be disappointed.
