We knew the end was coming and Dr. J worked with us to relieve Honey's discomfort as best we could, until it was apparent the time for her to move on had come. Then the care given on Honey's "goodbye" day made us feel cared for even though we were all very sad. The private cremation package, including a beautiful wooden box-urn, paw-plaque, paw-ornament (thanks, Martha!) and lovely hand-written condolence note from Dr J. and support emails, was more personal than end of life care we received in the past from other veterinary practices in other cities with other cats and dogs. Honey is "our last best cat" and this is the first time we've lived without an animal companion in 48 years, but we feel her with us. We deeply appreciate the support from the WAH staff over the past 6 years, since she moved with us to Whitefish. The care she received from multiple vets and staffers since 2019 helped her live to age 20 (our oldest cat ever) and enjoy Montana with us. We recommend their care to others with senior cats. My dog George…read moreMichael had a major congestive heart issue while on a trip to Montana, and I called every clinic within 30 miles to try to get him treated. Every clinic called either had no appointments available or they were closed. When I called The Animal Clinic of Kalispell they understood how dire the emergency was and they let me bring George there immediately to be seen by Dr. Clark. Dr. Clark was so comforting and knowledgeable that he immediately put my wife at ease once we were seen. George was treated within an hour, and we were able to clearly see that he was feeling much better. The vet tech was unprofessional and gave no explanation about what was happening. Our dog was dragged to the back and returned with scratches on his face. When we called afterward, we were told it was from a muzzle supposedly used on previous visits--which is simply not true. Very disappointed with the lack of care and communication.
