The sandwich was stone cold with the saddest little drizzle of what I can only imagine was fully congealed béchamel that had been piped on and maybe popped in a toaster oven for fifteen seconds. The egg on top was cooked over hard. Why even put that sandwich on the menu if you're going to execute it so poorly? The crepes were gummy, the avocado on the green goddess salad was mealy somehow. We just ate what we could of our meal and left. I would give this place a miss. If they're going to charge what they do, they need to fix the food.

CARDS. You know, the things you buy when you care about people? The irony was lost on whoever was behind the counter. No "thank you." No smile. Just a full serving of stanky attitude with a side of complete indifference -- and I didn't even order that. They've got 444 on the door. Angel numbers. Protection energy. Good vibes literally bolted to the building. And somehow none of it made it past the front entrance. I've given this place multiple chances because I believe in supporting local businesses. There are some cozy couches and tables here and there among the stacks of books. I suppose you could take your cup of coffee and curl up on a couch or chair, because I saw one person doing that. But mostly: This is a bookstore, not so much a coffee shop or place to lounge. So I wouldn't visit with the intention of posting up and working for a few hours. This doesn't seem like that kind of place. Again, it's a bookstore first, a coffee shop second, a place to lounge third. Although The Press is a small bookstore, it has a nice children's section, with lots of books for kids and even graphic novels (my personal favorite). There is something for everyone here.

Lots of plants, has lots of places to sit and sip your coffee, there's a puzzle on a table that everyone can work on, cool mosaic above the door, and has some cool art pieces on the wall.
