You know, the things you buy when you care about people? The irony was lost on whoever was behind the counter. No "thank you." No smile. Just a full serving of stanky attitude with a side of complete indifference -- and I didn't even order that. They've got 444 on the door. Angel numbers. Protection energy. Good vibes literally bolted to the building. And somehow none of it made it past the front entrance. I've given this place multiple chances because I believe in supporting local businesses. This is me believing in something for the last time. To the owner: I genuinely hope you're not the person I keep encountering behind the register. If you are -- bless your heart. If you're not -- you may want to pop in unannounced one day. Bring a secret shopper. Bring a therapist. Bring snacks. Whatever it takes. The latte was fine. The cards were cute. The experience? We went here for a post 4th of July brunch and the line was out the door! However, it was not as bad of a wait as one would get at a typical restaurant in New York and was totally worth it. Me and my friend got a lox bagel and an avocado toast, respectively. The everything lox bagel was very chewy and scrumptious, with yummy garnishes of tomato, cucumber, and spices alongside a velvety blanket of salmon. I took one sip of my friends draft latte vanilla and ascended: the la colombe brews do not disappoint! I ended up choosing a protein collagen mushroom Latte but Fourth of July specialized, called Rosie the riveter! Located just a few minutes from the beach, I stopped in here to grab a latte and The sweater weather latte was recommended by the barista.. it was definitely a hit! The coffee shop is so cute and inviting. In addition to coffee, I ordered the avocado toast and after one bite, threw it in the garbage. Unfortunately, it was made with an avocado that had gone bad and it was very obvious. I didn't feel like turning around to return it but wish that they had taken more care to present fresh and edible food. If I'm in the area again, I will go back for coffee but probably would skip the food. read more

The Lakeshore Cafe was inviting and cozy. We were greeted when it was our turn at the counter by a welcoming face. There were only two people working at the Cafe, but they hustled and made it work successfully. The pastries and my husband's breakfast was tasty. The lemon lavender matcha seemed a little heavier on the lemon than expected, but everything else made up for it. read more

Inside, friendly service and lots of seating where I was able to plug in with my laptop and get about two hours worth of emailing done before it was time to move along. This is a cute coffee shop serving drinks (coffee and non), various pastries, and breakfast and lunch options. You order at the counter and if you dine in (seat yourself), they'll give you a table number and bring your order to you. My sourdough egg sandwich was dry - I wish there would've been an aioli, mayo, etc. Overall, it is a cute place. There are paintings for sale upstairs, and plenty of seating options indoors and outdoors. My only gripe is the prices are expensive for such tiny portions! read more

UPDATE: In the last year or so this place was bought by a long time employee and is now Lakeshore Cafe. Along with the name change came a distinct change, and clear attempt to upscale, the decor and overall vibe. Admittedly when I walked in and saw the loss of my beloved for twenty years-super casual-beach bummy-shorts tee shirt n dockers-exposed heavy timbered-often sanctuary transformed into something slightly more toward egg harbor cafe (with padded cream colored, chairs and soft white shades everywhere) I was a horrified. The folksy feel of tables in front of the store have been moved to a larger area in back and admittedly this has the potential to earn more revenue but will more revenue actually come (In my recent visit the area sat unused)? I was prepared to hate it--OK, I don't quite "hate" the new decor but will still say it was not an improvement over the original, just a different opinion of the new owner (and maybe the influence of an interior designer wanting a portfolio pic)--but nevertheless the overall experience is still positive with very well prepared food--and still--good coffee--though I do "extremely dislike" they got rid of some of the coffee varieties they had regularly. So, yes, I will still come, I just won't look forward to it quite as much as I did before--and that means I may make an alternate choice which could be a killer for a small business. I guess the moral of the story could be: "Don't kill the goose that laid the golden egg." (or upscale it so you lose what made everyone love it). read more

Great local casual breakfast and coffee shop! I had the Milky Way Frappuccino. It was delicious and the perfect size! For breakfast I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheddar cheese bagel breakfast sandwich. It was delicious! It came with an apple or chips as the side. The employee at the counter wasn't consistent with orders. She didn't ask me if I wanted a side but asked every one else in my party and she forgot to give one person in my group a number. I came here after a mishap with another coffee shop. Once my friend and walked in, we were both greeted with a, "hi, how are you!?" Nah! I ordered a plain black coffee. I was given an empty cup, so I could go to a carafe to fill it myself. They had three carafes with different varieties of coffee. The first was a flavored coffee, which I don't like. Another carafe that contained organic coffee was empty. The remaining carafe, which seemed to be a breakfast blend, had barely enough to give me 3/4 of a cup. My wife ordered a bagel. She did not want it toasted. It took a long time to get a plain bagel. When they brought out it was cold and they said it was from the refrigerator. We assume it was a store-bought bagel. Her tea was a nice organic variety. read more

Breakfast for 2 was around $30, and the sandwiches come with chips in a basket which is dissatisfying for the money. The coffees are nothing special, my latte was not made with much love. Nice place to come for coffee when you're in town, sits right across from the lighthouse outlet mall. A nice variety of pastries and I guess the coffee changes daily. First day everything was great and people were nice, next day ahh...staff not so nice and the coffee wasn't made right, hence, my reason for the 3 star review.
