What's not acceptable was the attitude I received: eye rolls, scoffing, chuckling, and dismissive behavior that felt targeted and completely uncalled for. After confirming the correct name with my mom and giving it to them, they said they recognized the order and brought the cake out. But instead of completing the pickup, they left the cake sitting out and helped several other customers who came in after me, including three who also picked up cakes. They even decorated a cake in front of me while I continued to wait. No one communicated with me. I was repeatedly asked for the name on the order, even after giving the correct name multiple times. By the time I finally got the cake at 2:20 PM, it had been sitting out so long that decorations were sliding off in the heat. The box wasn't enclosed properly either, and it felt like they just didn't care. What made this especially disappointing is that it was my first time at this bakery, and I was picking up the cake for someone who has been ordering from them for years without ever having a problem. The fact that I had such a negative experience on my very first visit makes it feel personal. As an Afro-Latina, I can't ignore how racially charged the behavior felt. I came in kind, calm, and speaking the same language, but was treated with blatant disrespect. I expected better from a community-based business.
