The live piano playing late at night was one of the most unique and fun bar experiences I've ever had. The Annex is located atop of Coral Gables. The pianist was playing along to all types of music but it was loud and had the crowd dancing! Absolutely a must stop at if you're trying to find good nightlife. Coffee was just okay BUT there was a lot that made up for it. Including super nice barista who went to the back and found a reusable glass for me to put my iced americano in. And the fact that it has lovely second floor patio seating that overlooks the water. Plus, much cheaper than the other coffee spots I walked by. We were in the Saugatuck area for three days, and are coffee addicts, so we were always on the hunt for a good cup of Joe. The Annex was hands down the best cup we had the entire trip, and also, the least expensive. It was just perfect. We had a lovely early morning breakfast, on Mother's Day even, enjoying our pastries and bagels and coffee at The Annex, overlooking the water and enjoying just some quiet time together. Great views, inexpensive, great coffee! Perfect for early birds too. read more

I ordered a medium size latte which came as a small latte in a medium size cup. The scones were overcooked and tasteless.

Excellent coffee. Fairly large space with plenty of seating right in the harbor. Wasn't too busy at the time, but only one young girl "manning" the whole place. The bartenders were unbelievably ridiculous and had our whole group kicked out because she could not get in the bathroom. It was the blond bartender. With in minutes she had called the cops and had us removed!! This is not the first time this has happened and is a typical example of captured audience and the employees thinking that they can treat customers this way!!! The owner should seriously consider replacing any employee that thinks this way! We travel to Saugatuck (group of 25) nearly every other weekend in the summer and will encourage any and all of our friends to give their money to other establishment. We do love the entertainment but simply will not tolerate thus kind of disrespect! read more

It's not that it's the most amazing place or the BEST cup of coffee... but it's a simple place, a local type place, with good coffee that's only $1.25 / $1.50 / $1.75... Seriously! I like to grab a cup, walk the docks & start the day. Great spot! read more

Come for the live piano music. The pianist is very engaging and friendly, and the drinks are reasonably priced. As the night goes on the place becomes a party and everyone is singing along and having fun. I can't speak to the food here, but if it's anything close to the food in the Coral Gables restaurant, then go else where and come back for the pianoman. read more

Great coffee shop morning and mid-day and a great piano bar by evening.

First experience this morning before work! The lady behind the counter was very nice and helpful. I ordered a mocha ( my drink of choice when I'm not having green tea) and am so happy i did. It is delicious and espresso was perfectly to my liking. More people need to come have a drink here. They have tough competition with uncommon grounds right around the corner, but trust me on this, if you are a fan of good quality coffee that is very prompt and friendly people come here. Plus who can beet that view overlooking the boats! read more
