I think it's awesome that they kept the name original to its actual name. But reading a menu alone, it was kind of like the blind leading the blind. The deluxe platter is an awesome way to kind of sample a little bit of everything. If you go in a group, everyone can get a different thing and you get even more choices. My boyfriend and I shared one platter and I honestly already forgot which items we got. But everything I tasted was amazing. The only thing is please be very mindful that it is quite spicy. Even the ones that are mild are a little more spicy. Please also note that I have the spice tolerance of a child so maybe my idea of spicy is someone's mild... We got the mango and masala lassie. I really like the mango one, but the masala was more savory than it is sweet so it threw me off. My boyfriend liked it, though it was different than usual. The owner was really friendly and helpful when it came to recommendations, and she even gave us a complimentary special puri dish! It was filled with yogurt, pomegranate, and chutney, and it made a really balanced and refreshing bite. The yogurt itself that came with some other dishes, like the veggie paratha and deluxe thali, was absolutely fresh too. I also loved the daal and aloo subzi puri (WHICH WERE HUGE). The puri that came with it were spiced and texturally really interesting. Man, the prices are pretty great too, but maybe that's just the Bay Area resident in me who's used to things being at LEAST $18. Counting down the days until I come back, especially for their carbs. I ordered another raj kachori because that's what I wanted but she gave me piyaz and didn't even refund my money back ... Raj kachori the outer shell was fried in bad oil, and full of sweet yogurt u couldn't taste any of the fillings. Paneer was sweet, Naan was k. All flavorless and sweet. Their number system they need to work on. They gave my food to another order so I had to wait another 20 minutes for my food. I had to tell him I have been waiting forever. The paneer pakora had some stuffing in it which made it taste nice and fresh. The pyaaz kachori was delicious. The deluxe thali was the highlight. I visited Bikanervala, Diamond Bar, on Saturday, May 23 this year after seeing great reviews on Yelp and as a person from Delhi, I was really excited to try's this place. However, my experience of the place was nothing like the reviews. The good part was that the restaurant was nice and clean with plenty of seating. But the food was very average and nothing like the Delhi location. I got Rajkachori, which is a specialty, this had no filling inside, just contained lumpy yogurt with minimal amount of chutneys. The Paneer Pakora order only had two 1" square pieces cut in half, at tiny portion. Food also took a really long time after ordering and the reason they gave was there was party going on, and everyone was busy with that. This should not be reason to ignore the regular customers. This was my first and disappointing experience. I don't think I'll go there again. read more

Bikanerwala's flavors do remind me of India, which is always a plus. However, the portion sizes feel a bit small for the price. Our favorite, the chole bhature, comes with two large bhature, but the accompanying chole is served in a very small bowl, which isn't quite enough. This was our second visit, and while we enjoyed the famous Raj kachori last time, it didn't hit the mark this time. It had less yogurt than before and was overwhelmed by tamarind chutney, throwing off the balance of flavors. Also, I wouldn't recommend the Paneer Kulcha -- it felt like frozen one and was a waste of money. We especially drove from San Diego to diamond bar for cholle bhature. We ordered cholle bhature, raj kachori, khandvi, mango lassi, fresh lime soda and badam milk, dal and onion kachori. All the food tasted fresh, location was clean and the owner was very polite and friendly. He ensured couple of times that we were good with food. This flavor can't be found in any Indian restaurants in San Diego unfortunately, those who have eaten at bikanerwala in Delhi knows the authentic flavors of cholle bhature. The bhature were not at all oily and was devoured before photo could have been taken. It's quite a drive so will save this for special occasions visit. I wish I could give zero stars. I ordered Khandvi, Rasmalai, Daal Kachori, and Pani Puri, and unfortunately, nothing met expectations. The Pani Puri had the thickest shells I've ever encountered--completely off in texture and lacking any real flavor. The Khandvi was a major disappointment: it arrived frozen and even after microwaving, it separated into water and oil. It honestly felt like I was eating plain besan. The Rasmalai was just average--nothing memorable. As for the Daal Kachori, it was clearly frozen, then fried flat--no fluff, no crunch, just dense fried dough. I understand that many Indian restaurants use frozen food, but this experience felt like Bikanerwala was aiming for the "Frozen Food of the Year" award--and not in a good way. I decided to visit this thinking it'd be different and cause it was a newly opened restaurant. Food is flavorful, portion sizes are very small/skimpy and ambiance is mid. I got some chaat, some sweets and samosas/kachori. I saw them heating up kachori and samosa, so they're frozen/refrigerated. They also have little filling and a lot of crust. I sliced them open and had to throw away half of the crust. Rasmalai and jamun were good without being overly sweet. Chaat was good, but not filling as a snack. I wouldn't recommend visiting as it's vegetarian and everything seems to be frozen or reheated. There are a lot of places in Artesia which offer better value for your money. read more

Extremely average food with premium prices. The food is very mediocre and the prices are unreasonable. You can have twice the serving at your local India Sweet & Spices or at Artesia. Everything lacks salt and spice, very bland. We got the Samosa Chaat and the kachori. The daal inside the kachori was stale and left a bad after taste. Two small samosa's were for $6, you can get bigger samosas for less price. Samosa chaat for $10 was nothing but bad. I was really disappointed. I was looking forward to this place opening but the prices and taste of food left me feeling very disappointed. Not many vegan options and probably one of the few Indian restaurants that can't veganize their vegetarian menu. The reason given was that the curries are premade, and they put butter/ghee on things that would have normally been vegan. That's not very good for a restaurant model for customers with allergies or varying spice tolerances. It took forever to get my food as well but I chalk that up to being a new space.
