The Tikka Masala was solid and i enjoyed a couple of their other chicken dishes as well. They also serve complimentary garlic nan with the buffet and it came out fresh, crunchy, and flavorful. I do not know my Indian food well but I thought everything tasted decent. My only complaint was there were lots of small bones in the chicken that I couldn't see. Overall you're not going to find better value for $17 with an ayce Indian buffet. Will be back! read more

This was honestly one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had. I was served raw chicken, and when I brought it to the owner's attention, he just took the piece from my plate, looked around at the other pieces to see if they were cooked, and then walked it over to the chefs, who were on their lunch break. The way the situation was handled felt very unprofessional. There was no real concern, apology, or effort to make things right. Serving raw chicken is unacceptable. I won't be coming back, and I definitely can't recommend this place to anyone. I genuinely hope they improve their food safety practices before someone gets seriously sick. read more

The food is okay. I have eaten here a few times and it has been underwhelming more recently.

I came here with a friend. It was her choice as she saw Tamarind and wanted Indian food. Upon walking in there were two tables occupied and several 4 tops and more 2'top tables open. We asked to sit at a 4 top but they said no, someone else could take that table. They did say they would clear our plates quickly and sat is at a 2 top. We just wanted to be comfortable and have a relaxing enjoyable lunch. The buffet was fine Salad, rice? 3 vegetarian dishes and 4 With meat and chicken and a rice pudding dessert. Hot naan available upon request. The service was non existent. The staff just stood around. No smiles. Could not care that we were there. We had to ask to have water refilled. They never checked and didn't care. Every request for bread or water or To remove the plates that they said They would remove quickly, was met With disdain and an eye roll. Not one pleasant word from any of the staff. We stayed because my friend and I don't get to have lunch together often so we chatted and had a good time despite the service. I won't tell them what they should do but with an empty restaurant customers that are there should be appreciated. We even had to ask for the check We paid right away and left I won't be back. I have come to Tamarind perhaps a dozen times for Sunday lunch over the past year. My wife prefers the Mediterranean "Pizzita" next door in this shopping center, but I have come to love the Pakistani flavors of the dishes offered at the buffet. I do not know the correct name, but my favorite is the goat stew with (curry?) and the salad. The tandoori chicken is also delicious and the lentil and eggplant side dishes are savory and perfectly compliment the overall meal. The owners and wait staff are always concerned that I am enjoying my meal and the Ambiance is casual, yet refined. White table covers contribute to the well maintained dining area. We ordered chicken tikka masala, lamb korma, a beef paratha roll, plus sesame and garlic naan. The curries were flavorful and the meats were REALLY tender, though they leaned on the salty side. The naan was softer and doughier than I prefer, but still good for dipping. Using the curry as a sauce for the beef roll balanced everything out nicely. Food was seriously amazing. The portion is humongous and the table unfortunately, is too small for all the size of plates. There are so nice though to ensure that you always have a good fill of water. The food took forever to come that we ran out of things to talk! But when it came, oh my how amazing the spread was! Price is very good for Indian meals but we think in comparison, New Flavor of India buffet place is better with quality. This place still serves very good Indian food. Their tandoori is tender moist and delicious but it runs out very quickly and most pieces are bony. Rice is hard. Chutney.... I won't recommend. I've only been to their lunch buffet, but with that being said this place is amazing. The standard chicken masala, basmati rice, salad is always served but every other day they change some of the meat. Every single time has been a banger. Goat was tender, fish was soft and delectable, all chicken variations are great with rice. Not sure if the naan bread is unlimited but they have been giving it everything I ask. The mango drink is great too, high recommend you try it. The amount of food variation and buffet for about $20 is already a steal now a days, and to have the food be this good made this place my top 2 spot in Chino. This Pakistani restaurant never disappoints. I was coming every Tuesday and then found out they have baked fish on Monday and it just melts in your mouth. The staff keeps bringing Nom and re filling the glass with water. They are so attentive and polite. It's a good sign when you see multicultural patrons enjoying the food and engaging on conversations. The soft music in the background makes time enjoyable while eating great food. Ordered Nihari Chicken Karhai 5 plain naan @$2.75 each We were told they close at 10 pm on Friday and we picked up at 8:30 pm. Nihari was nothing but JUST meat srapped from the bottom of the pot with no curry, well may be a teaspoon of curry. Picture attached. Chicken karhai was fine and ALL five naans were burnt. The food here is fresh, and we love the buffet ! Good air conditioning which is a plus. The buffet is $18.95 and seven days a week from 11 am-2:30 pm. The owner/server is very attentive, and always refills the water glasses continuously. He is rather stoic but that's ok. The naan bread is fresh and hot ! Yum !
