This place is an absolute scam and should be avoided at all costs. Based on my experience, Bike Attack Electric engages in misleading sales practices, uses unreasonable refund policies, and provides poor customer service. Frankly, I'm not surprised their Plays Vista location closed--I only wish fewer people had to go through what I did. My experience mirrors many of the other one-star reviews, particularly regarding their outrageous "no refunds" policy. The key difference in my case is that they sold me a bike they didn't even have. I was told it would arrive "sometime in the next month or so," with no firm delivery date or timeline. Rather than taking a deposit, they insisted I pay the full purchase price upfront for a bike that wasn't in stock and wasn't even in their possession. Given that I'm 6'6", I specifically asked whether I could try the bike once it arrived before making a final decision. They assured me that would be "no problem," which gave me confidence that I wasn't taking on unnecessary risk. A few days later, I realized how unreasonable the arrangement was. I had paid thousands of dollars in full for a product they didn't have and couldn't tell me when they would receive. I called and requested a refund. They flatly refused at first. What followed was an exhausting exchange of roughly 15 to 20 emails that started out cordial but eventually became increasingly hostile. After significant back-and-forth, the employee handling the matter, Kit, finally agreed to issue a refund--but withheld more than 7% of the purchase price, claiming it was for "merchant fees." I've never encountered credit card processing fees anywhere near that amount, and charging a customer thousands of dollars upfront for an unavailable product only to keep a substantial portion when they request a refund strikes me as completely unacceptable. Between the bait-and-switch style sales tactics, the refusal to refund a bike they didn't even have, and the generally unhelpful in-store staff, I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. I ended up relying on YouTube reviews to learn about the products because the staff offered so little useful guidance. I took my Aventon Aventure e-bike to Bike Attack in Santa Monica at lunchtime for brakes and picked it up the same day after work. They got it done quickly and with great precision and expertise. They explained everything they did and what parts they replaced and why. I rode my bike at lunch today and was very impressed by the work they did so I called them to tell them that and to thank them for doing such a good job. I was actually speaking to the tech, George, who worked on my bike. He was delighted. I could tell by the tone of his voice that my feedback made his day. He told me they loved my bike and were impressed by how many miles on it. They took a picture of the mileage and sent it to the bike maker, Aventon, to let them know that someone was really getting a lot of use out of one of their bikes. Recently bought a Sinch bike from Bike Attack. While first checking bikes out, the salesperson spent almost an hour answering my million questions. This was before he knew I was a serious customer. There was absolutely no pressure to buy. He was extremely helpful and I was convinced. I did buy a bike which had to be ordered. Again, their customer service was amazing. In the time between my ordering and receiving the bike, it went on sale. They gave me a full credit for the difference. Finally when I got the bike, Neil, one of the employees, spent time explaining every part of its function to me. And then, when I told him I hadn't ridden a bike in a while, he insisted on going out to the parking lot and he had me practice in front of him trying different gears. This was the first time I had my bike serviced at this location which is an older electric prototype and the customer service was excellent and the guys who worked their are friendly, competent and caring. Because my bike is older, they took great care in changing the back tire which includes the motor and they re-taped some wiring as well. I had the tube as well as the tire replaced and things seem to be fine and I'm grateful because few regular bike stores that are still around have the staffing to service electric bicycles. BIKE ATTACK has two locations and their number is 424-744-8148 and the front door is closed so you need to use the back entrance. The store is directly across the street from Coffee Bean. The guys that work here are super chill and nice. They don't pressure you into buying anything. Which I adore because the other bike shop I went to I have to fight my way out the door with "sorry's" and "no thank you's" They will let you test drive anything in the back alley/ parking lot. Deceitful business practices. Took my e-bike in to have rear flat repaired. Picked it up the next day it all looked good. I rode the bike as soon as I got home and felt the rear tire rubbing against the rear fender and also heard the scraping of the tire. I took the bike back to them to adjust the rear wheel and they told me the rim was out of alignment. I have ridden this bike for over a year and put 230 miles on it since I bought new from this shop. I never had any problems with the bike. I take it in and now it has an issue? Won't be going back to this clip joint. read more

My brother and I came here to test ride a few electric bikes to decide which type we wanted. We were trying to decide between an electric all-terrain/mountain bike or a commuter electric bike. We were leaning toward the more versatile all-terrain/mountain bike as we could both commute and trail ride with it and we liked the more rugged build. The staff here are super friendly and accommodating! They are more than happy for you to try out their bikes. They have a nice selection of electric bikes. The most important part of the purchase for electric bikes is that you can get them serviced in town! My brother and I researched extensively which brands were carried locally and the Magnum Mi6 & Peak fit us as we could use them both as commuter and mountain bikes. Definitely not aggressive mountain biking LOL but easy to intermediate runs, double track, fire roads, good hills, that's what we're looking at when we mean mountain biking LOL We are happy to know this shop can service our Magnums. Their friendly, professional, and accommodating and as we know we will have to get our bike serviced, at least we know we can get them fixed reliably here at Bike Attack. read more

They help me out and maintain my bicycle. They offer good prices and good monthly payments plans here. Unfortunately, they end up got a bad brand bicycle that I bought. it was Juiced. Don't buy it. They end up stop selling it and they did their best to help me with my bicycle and the manufacture. Anyway, 2 years past and I figured it's time to get another another electric bicycle. I was debating if I should shop around again or should I go back and get another electric bicycle from them? Since they help me allot and service my bicycle on time, I decided to get an electric bicycle from them again because I may not get the same customer service and have my bicycle fixed on time at other places. This time I decided to get E-Lux. This electric bicycle is very good and I am very happy with it. I didn't have that much problems with it at all. I am very happy with it. Called to see if they had a Sinch Ebike in stock - the girl said yes- so I drove all the way down there, come to find out, they haven't had them in stock for weeks!!!! The man that worked there said maybe I called the wrong store and I told him no it was this one , because that's the girl I talked to on the phone ( she was on the phone when I got there and I recognized her voice). He didn't apologize and was extremely rude, didn't bother to show me any other bikes, so I walked out and then he yelled bye and laughed as I drove off. What an ASSHOLE!!!! Buyer beware! This place will bamboozle you. I brought my bike over because I was concerned about the front tire rubbing on the disc brake. The employees told me that some rubbing was normal, but my disc brake definitely needed to be adjusted. When I picked up my bike later in the day, the rubbing was even worse! When I pointed this out to them the next morning, they tried to tell me that the brake was fine and that some rubbing was normal. If that was the case to begin with, why did they tell me it needed an adjustment? Reluctantly, they took the bike back and did another adjustment. This time they managed to get rid of most of the rubbing. They never apologized nor offered a discount, despite the fact that I had to take off work and return the next day so that they could fix their mistake. Bottom line: you cannot trust them. I explained the make and model of e-bike I wanted and it wasn't in stock so I asked them to call or text me when one comes in so I could buy it and they said they don't do that. Recently I got to check out the new shop of Ericson of Bike Attack, he helped me get a Kuat bike rack for my new car and he had it delivered to this store rather than his regular shop up the street, he did an awesome job setting up the new place! I was just there to pick up a rack but he offered me a test ride on one of the Stromer bikes he offers there, the shop has a comfortable area out back that allows customers to hang and chat about bikes. As I began my little test ride Ericson shouted to take it up a hill just across from the shop, what a great location to test out the power of these new wave of bikes! The store front is right on Main in Venice so it's easy to find, the show room is spacious and has plenty of eye candy for the bike minded! Look for big things from this solid group of folks as they are expanding even more with another electric bike shop in the newly developed Playa Vista area! read more
