I came in for something simple, a rear tire repair on my bike. I explained my situation clearly that my tire is flat and my bike is my only way to get to work, so I need a new inner tube. I kept getting told a tuneup would be better than just doing the tire and then he said I needed to replace the whole tire inside and out. I said while I know it could use a tune-up, it rides fine and I couldn't afford it that day so I just wanted the tube changed. The guy at the counter nodded, said no problem, and told me he would take care of my tire in about an hour. When I came back, he blindsided me. Instead of fixing my tire like I asked, he went ahead and did a full tune-up I never agreed to, then held my bike hostage until I paid him $200. I told him point blank I didn't want that service, I never authorized it, and I didn't have the money as I live paycheck to paycheck. His response? Too bad. Pay up or leave without your bike. That kind of business practice isn't just shady, it's predatory! He knew I had no choice, so he backed me into a corner. And to make matters worse? My bike is already rickety again. So not only did he overcharge me for work I didn't want, but the work itself was garbage. This shop took advantage of someone just trying to get by. If you value your money, your transportation, and your sanity, avoid this place at all costs!! Will never return. His name is Jorge, and he rips you off!! read more

As a matter of fact didn't even want my number when I dropped it off. Just told me to come at a certain time. Now I know why. Once the work is done you're screwed. I'm SOO GLAD to have found this shop. I had a seriously wobbly front wheel on my pet jogging stroller and other bike shops didn't want to work on it. My cats were not happy about that - they NEED their stroller outings. So thankfully Jorge carefully identified the problem, fixed it in only a few hours and charged me a Very Reasonable price, much lower than other bike shops that have a high hourly rate. Really like this spot! Came here to get my brakes fixed, and the shop person (owner?) instantly realized that one of my brake chains was broken. I had no idea. He suggested he check my entire bike for $50, and although I was hesitant, I'm glad he did that. He fixed the brake, oiled my chains (and probably did some other things I'm not aware of). My bicycle doesn't squeak anymore and rides smoother. Unfortunately I got a flat tire just a few days after, but that would've been $28 to fix here so I went elsewhere where I knew it would've been less expensive. Bummed I couldn't support this local business a second time. I highly recommend this place though, the repairman is kind and personally cares. read more

Jesus was so accommodating on short notice and assembled my new fixie in less than a day! I dropped it off around closing time friday & it was ready for pickup by noon next day. $100 flat. Although the shop was busy, he was very patient and kind, having me test ride my new wheels out back and making seat and handlebar adjustments until it felt just right :) I wanted my handlebars higher & happily they had a "razor" in stock to do just this that he popped right in. Let me rave about this place. I recently bought an old bicycle and needed some help replacing the rear wheel hub. Jorge took care of it quickly, and then went to the trouble of helping me work out some squeaks on the bicycle. He tuned up my front brake, mounted a new saddle (that I had purchased elsewhere) and was just all around helpful. I dropped off my bike here and got the work i wanted done in a very reasonable amount of time. The only reason Im not leaving them 5 stars is for the following. After getting home with my bike i realized that the $150 headset that i purchased seemed worn out and the letters around it seemed corroded. I decided to call the shop and see if they had an explanation. Within seconds of me bringing it up the mechanic says dont worry come back and ill give you a discount. For the little effort he took to defend his position I can only imagine that this was a take off part that he had laying around, and since I caught it he immediately gave in and gave me some money back. I do appreciate the money back in my pocket, but a quick phone call saying "Hey I have a slightly used one laying around here I can offer you a discount on it" would've sat much better with me. read more

I had to get a few things fixed on an old, rusty bike, including a tire replacement and a recalibrating of my gears. The shop owner took my bike in right away (there was a 4-week long wait at a bigger, more commercial bike shop in Culver City) and had it completely done in two days. I was super impressed by the shop owner's speed, professionalism, and kindness. He had hand sanitizer at the check out and instructed me to use before/after touching the payment screen. I also thought the pricing was transparent and fair (I'm always worried about getting ripped off, since I don't know too much about bikes and how much repairs typically cost). He also fixed up my brakes because they were loose, but didn't charge me as that wasn't part of the original request. I'll certainly be going back - love this cute and helpful neighborhood bike shop. BEST SHOP ON THE WESTSIDE! I have had numerous issues with a few bikes recently, and not only are they honest and upfront with the work and pricing, but they are FAST! I've taken bikes to other local shops in the past, but they have usually been expensive, and I've been forced to wait days for the work to be completed. Not here. The work is usually completed within the same day (if dropped off early) for an incredibly reasonable price. I can't say enough good things about this place and their staff. It's encouraging to find a store that values their customers and treats them like people and not dollar signs. I hope anyone reading this will give them a shot. Quick and efficient repair on my bike. My front derailleur cable snapped yesterday and needed it removed and replaced. Called beforehand to make sure if they had time and confirmed they did. Said it should take an hour at most. Went and got coffee at the cafe next door and an hour later came back and it was in great working order and shifting smoothly again (in addition to cleaning up a frayed cable end I've been meaning to fix for years).
