We purchased our first bike with Bike n hike, a Townie. The employee I worked with was very helpful. There was never any preasure as I tried to figure out which style fit me best. They let me ride the bikes around so I could evaluate/experience the performance of the bikes. We were so pleased with the product and customer stervice that we came in a couple of months later and got the same (male version) bike for my husband. We have been extremely happy with them. They took the time to help me and my husband get safe helmets, explaining the importance of a proper fit. My very physically fit husband needed an extra large and the employee showed us how to adjust them and test them. What a professional! I bike often through fields and I ended up getting a flat tire due to the blackberry thorns. Bike and hike, not only took care of it on the spot but only charged $10.00 for the tube and service. They also recommended a tube that could handle thorns since I travel daily through that field. I recommend these guys highly. They know what they are doing and the care and after service is outstanding. read more

The last time I was in Bike N'hike Shop, the sales person was very rude and condescending. I had been in shop numerous times and owner helped me with numerous purchases and repair on my 2 bikes. Today I came in to purchase a couple bike tubes and inquire about a rear basket. As in the past, I brought my bike indoors, as I've witnessed other customers do. The counter person did not greet me nor asked how he could help he just stated that there was a bike rack outside. I stated I was concerned about it getting "ripped off". He only said there's a rack outside. The bike needed to be inside to see if they had a rack to fit my bike, however I decided I did not need to purchase items from this store and wished him a good day. As I headed out the door the employee stated "I didn't need to have a hissy fit". Very unprofessional and probably would not have happen if owner was present. I plan on taking my business to another local shop. read more

Great people good shop frindly reliable service, idont understand the bad comments below, complainers will complain, hey this aint walmart! i've had nothing but good experiences with them! very helpful, frindly, group! helped me find what i was looking for even if they had to order it! beets having to order myself i'll be sure to get the right part i want and a courtesy call when it arrives! i even bought a couple of bikes from them which have been nothing but spectacular! and they are always willing to help me out with any issues, mostly my fault, flat tires, kicking the chain off, etc. love this shop. they're amazing! read more

No, do not shop here. Horrible customer service. I've spent 20 years shopping in here. They treat me like they don't know me. They act like helping you is a chore bot the job they do. The deaf guy isn't much help at the front desk. And jj seems to not know what is in his cases and what he is selling. He csnt tell ya the size of anything nor wil lie look it up. How dare u interrupt me sweeping my floors to spend 2k on bmx stuff? Seriously... u need to know what you need when u come here or they can't help ya. read more

So happy we stopped, we were camping at Waterloo and my son totaled his rear axle on his bike. We stopped in near closing time, the mechanic did all he could to get our bike back on the road, even without an app. Very thankful for the great service read more

I had high hopes for Bike N'hike in Albany after reading a few fantastic reviews. On my first visit I would have been willing to put up three stars. I will outline my two visits and why I am giving such a terrible review. 1.) My first visit I came in looking for inner tubes for my partners bike and my own. A young employee greeted me kindly and was very helpful and understood that these are the first bikes we have had in a long time and I didn't know much about what I was looking for. I also came to get a bike rack for my car. He showed me a bike rack that I didn't think would work because it was for a spare tire. He told me that it was probably just the picture and I, not knowing much about these things, believed him and bought it. He offered to help me put it on my car which was a nice thing to do. He went to go put it on the car and no, I was right and it was for a spare tire. He took it back and asked what I wanted to do. I decided to buy the other, rather expensive one that would work for sure. He went to go ask "the boss" about how to handle the transaction but instead of finishing business with me first he decided to stop and help another customer as I stand at the counter awkwardly next to "the boss" while the employee who was helping me and was supposed to be talking to him was off helping someone else. This ticked me off a little but it wasn't a huge deal or anything. At the end of my visit I got what I came in for and overall the younger employee was fairly helpful. I would have given this 3 stars but fast forward to the next day... 2.) I forgot to get helmets for my partner and I so we came in to get a pair. The prices seemed a bit much but they seemed like good helmets so I was willing to buy them. Well "the boss" was there and walked up asking if we needed anything. I explained we were just looking at helmets expecting him to get on his way but instead he stayed. Let me note I am not the smallest person around but I'm not giant either. Well he felt he -had- to suggest that I get an extra large helmet because I have a big head. ... Excuse me ? Even if that were the case, the correct way to handle it would let me try whichever one I picked and if I said it was too small explain that they have larger sizes. Well I put on the smaller helmet and hooked it up, told him "see, it's fine", and then we left never to come back. It was not just him trying to be "nice" or trying to help the customer. He was just being a jerk, plain and simple. read more

Today I'm wishing I had never visited Bike and Hike. I called ahead this afternoon to find out if they had the tires and tubes that I was looking for and the person on the phone assured me they did keep those in stock and said that they were open until 6 p.m. I believed I arrived there a few minutes before 4 justa mintue or so behind another customer on a bike. When I walked in the store the person behind the counter did not make eye contact nor did he greet me in any way. I was content to browse around and wait patiently for my turn but the person ahead of me was rather indecisive about what he was going to purchase. While I was waiting another man came in and began waiting too. He went to stand relatively close to where the other two men were and I remained behind to observe social distancing. Well the first customer remained indecisive he suggested to this salesperson that he go ahead and assist the other customer. I assumed that the salesperson would acknowledge that I had been waiting before the other person had arrived but he proceeded to assist that person instead. I decided to step outside for some fresh air and wait. When I saw the second customer leave with his purchase I re-entered the store and again I was not acknowledged in any way. At this point I was becoming a little irritated at the lack of courtesy or customer service. By this time I had already been waiting nearly 20 minutes. There was a young man working on bikes in the back of the store, so I walked back there to speak with him and asked if he could assist me. I told him that I was there for tires and tubes and he said simply there's another person in the other room that can help you and he turned around and went back to what he was doing. Really? Two other people walked into the store at this point and no one acknowledged them either. The lack of customer service is appalling, I would not recommend patronizing this establishment read more

Visited the bike shop yesterday was cleaning the parents and nice shop customer service was terrible I needed to pick up a set of grips for a friend's bike and it was if I was putting the people out purchasing them the old grips on the bike or sticky and I asked for a towel to wipe my hands off after showing them they said they didn't have any towels even though they have a full service department 20 feet away and made me write my check with sticky hands and we're very rude. I will never go back to the Bike and Hike in Albany Corvallis has too many great bike shops to waste my time being treated that way. read more

My wife and I bought our bikes there. I highly recommend buying from your local bike shop. I bought my first road bike and they have high pressure tires. I didn't know I had to check the pressure and got a flat. I brought it to the store and they replaced the tube for free and gave me great information on how to care for my bike. read more
