We needed a flotation device for our dog for a trip through OR, WA, and parts of Canada where we'll be on the water. We didn't realize how hard they were to come by locally or online. But I found one in stock at Peak Sports and called to see if I could buy it and have them hold it for me for a few weeks. They offered to hold it without me buying it. The woman in the phone was so helpful and nice. We just stopped in to get it and the same kind woman offered to fit it on our dog. Such kindness. We got it adjusted and purchased in no time. We have visited Peak Sports often since moving to Corvallis in 2017, in part to rent skis each winter. This year we were disappointed to learn that Peak has changed its system in such a way that all of the skis in my and my oldest daughter's size have been leased out for the ENTIRE season. So now our only option to obtain skis for our trip this weekend is to rent them at a cost that is 2-3x more at the resort. We are extremely frustrated and feel discriminated against as petite people. I would like to support Peak in the future as they are a wonderful local business, but at this point I feel a bit abandoned and overlooked as a long-time customer. read more

Whatever you need done to your bike they will do it better and cheaper at Corvallis cyclery. Peak sports does careless work and charges around $100 more per a repair which will leave your bike worse than it was when it came in. Peak sports has a knack for up charging customers and does it without remorse. If you go avoid the tune up packages no matter how much of a "deal" they try and make it seem like. Mechanics will damage your bike. They took a chunk out of my pivot when removing the bearings and chipped the clear coat on the carbon in multiple places. When they serviced my breaks they didn't replace the pads and there was so much air in the system the levers would touch the grips without even stopping the bike. They mounted a tire I didn't ask for backwards on my front rim and when I brought it in again for the correct tire the tire wouldn't hold air for more than 15 min because there was no sealant. Seriously, go to Corvallis Cyclery the only thing peak is good at is doing things incorrectly and aggressively up-charging anyone who walks in the door. Can read more

I had a really specific bike in mind when I went in and not only was Reed happy to show me the bike I wanted to look at, he helped me trouble shoot and measure a few things to make sure it was the right bike for my needs. He reassured me that I could easily return the bike if it turned out not to be the right fit which really helped me feel confident in my purchase. Sigh. I don't know why I keep going in there. The last three times I went, I was disappointed at the lack of items available. Each time I left without buying anything because they didn't have it. One time it was some glue to attach d-rings to a paddle board. Standard repair supplies for boats. Nope. Didn't even have D-rings. I went in again a few weeks ago looking for some pretty standard outfitting for canoes that they actually sell. Nope. Nothing. Nada. OK. Bye. Finally I was in and was looking for a canoe care product for annual maintenance. They had never heard of it. It's recommended for the canoes they sell, but they've never heard of it. I hope I remember this and just stop going there. I'd like to support a local business, but they don't carry maintenance supplies or equipment. It seems they mostly want to sell clothes and have some items available on display to look like they sell sporting goods. Yes, they have Nalgene bottles. They have fuel for your backpack stove. They have cam buckle straps. They have some parts for your Yakima racks. And expensive clothes. On the plus side, the staff are usually friendly if they bother to come see if you need help. They also sell various sizes of rope in bulk. It wasn't always like this. This shop used to have a knowledgeable staff and supported paddling after they bought out Whitewater Warehouse. Now Corvallis has no paddling shop, and it's sad. It would be really nice to be able to buy maintenance supplies locally, but I guess it won't happen until either Peak Sports wants to actually support the community or they quit pretending to have paddling supplies and encourage another small shop to open. We came here on a recommendation for a bike for my daughters birthday, money in hand, excited to get her a new bike as she had outgrown her last one. The sales person walked us back to the bikes and really didn't seem to care to educate us too much on what size bike would be best for her. We needed guidance. Because of the disinterest in our business that we both felt, we just left. We didn't get a good vibe and wanted to feel like our business was appreciated and not an annoyance. Maybe this is the kind of store you go in knowing exactly what you want. We didn't know. We ended up buying a great bike from bike Newport where we met the nicest people! On my visit to Corvallis I stopped into this bike shop to have a look. I was happy to see it was a Specialized dealer, which is what I was interested in. I'm a novice with little knowledge of bike technology. Zachariah helped me find the bike that was the right fit for my MTB goals. I was looking for the Rock Hopper but learned I was riding the entry level equivalent in a Trek already. His knowledge of the sport and equipment needs to meet transitional skills put me in the right bike to meet my goals. I'm so happy with his service and for the expert technician that adjusted my bike to my body specs. They taught me about the bike and the upgraded features, how to use them, and why. They even took it apart for me so it would fit in my car for the long travel home. It rides like a dream, I've been so happy with it. My husband, an expert rider, loved my choice too! I recently bought a roof rack system to mount a roof tent, and not only was Peak Sports the ONLY place I could find the landing pads that I needed, they were shipped super-fast in time for a planned trip. Although, I ultimately decided not to go with the RTT and had to return my order. Spoke to very helpful staff on the phone that made the return process easy and straightforward. After the item made it back to the store they even called to confirm that it was received and that my return would be processed....and it was, within a day or two. Really great customer service! Even though I never had a chance to visit the store in person, it was a great experience and would definitely stop by if I'm ever in Oregon. read more

Bike Shop: Worst customer service and expensive They charge for every little thing they do, for example: installing a seat/ kick stand JUST bought from them. The problem is that they do not inform you they are going to charge for the labor until after it is installed. I do admit, they have good quality products, but the price and dealing with the employees/manager is not worth it. They are constantly trying to jip you. After the employees realized I was considering of purchasing a bike, they finally were willing to talk to me. I was planning to purchase a new bike at peak sports but became so annoyed with their poor customer service by trying to persuade me to not buy that bike, instead others costing $$$$. The next day I drove to the Portland REI, bought a similar bike, and feel successful and relieved that I never have to deal with Peak Sports again. Loved this store. I was greeted by a very friendly yellow lab and two staff members. I had been looking for good walking shoes for a while now and I managed to find a pair of Merrells that I love. We visited both the main store and the bike specific store (two doors down) and spent quite a bit of time at both! We went in to get some basic items for a bike packing trip my husband is taking. The staff were all super friendly and helpful and didn't try to push us to purchase more expensive items since they knew it was his first trip and he didn't know if he'd want to do it again. We also dropped his bike off for a tune up and it was ready for him the next day. When we got home, he noticed the bike bag he purchased was missing a strap. When he went in they quickly replaced the missing piece without any trouble. Additionally, we had our toddler with us and they were super friendly and encouraged her to explore the store. They even have a little table of blocks and toys for kids to stay busy at. Great experience! read more

4.5 stars for quick fix on my flat tire :) On my way to the gym yesterday evening I popped a flat on my tire and had to walk the rest of the way to the gym with a sad bike :( Since I don't have to go to work til later today I placed my bike in my trunk and drove to Peak Sports to get it fixed since I've been going to them with bike issues and they have been consistently helpful. Huge stars for that. One of the ladies working there opened the door for me and my bike (that was very nice of her) and I went over to the shop to get my bike looked at. The guy there wasn't all like "hi there, how can i help you?" but more like just a "hi." hmm... well i explained my story and he said it shouldn't take more than 5 min to get it fixed since it was just a flat. He propped up my bike on the holder and took off the rear wheel and took it apart. I did not know there was a inflatable tube inside underneath the tire! Learned something new every time I come here :D He explained to me how I may have got the flat then proceeded to check on the rim to make sure it didn't have any dents or scratches. He was very thorough with his work so with all the installation labor and the new inflatable tubing everything cost me a wonderful $10 :) happy camper! and I don't have to walk to work in this 80something degree heat :D read more

Not only did they not have the item in their store like they said but he didn't even care to help resolve how we could get them item to the store so we could check it out. *upate* Peak got in touch with us and offered their apologies for the inconsistent service. The issue has been resolved and we will continue to use them as their quality of service is excellent. My husband and I have been coming to Peak for over 4 years. We've had some good experiences but lately their customer service has been sub par to say the least. My husband took in his bike today with a lifetime coupon for service and though Peak had honored it before they wouldn't honor it going forward and even said "just be grateful you got a discount before". Obviously customer service is not a priority and they will be losing a loyal customer. This isn't the first negative experience we've had but we've tried to give them a chance. They do good work but we shouldn't have to be treated like this for good work. read more
