We have gone on walking and food tours previously and this is one of the best we've been on (and lowest in calorie count!). Dom focuses on the changing landscape of the neighborhood and the local manufacturing /arts movements in the area. We visited some local artisans that we NEVER would have discovered by ourselves and saw some really cool and unique items. Even though our tour only had 3 participants, Dom definitely did not skip on the tour itself as it lasted 4.5 hours. True, we ended at a local wine bar (where they grow the wine in upstate but put brooklyn artists' labels on the bottles) but it was a fantastic way to end as we were able to chat about what we saw, the neighborhood and what we saw. However, it was actually just a ferry ride, which is free, with no real organization of getting on except for running and making sure you can see the tour guide and then getting off to instantly to catch the next one back as soon as you got there. This should be explained in the details. Additionally, you do stop at the places mentioned but you do not get access to go into anything. For the Brooklyn Bridge it was basically just walking to the front for a photo and leaving. Same for Grand Central Terminal, you go in and walk around quickly while he explains a few things. For $220/pp, I expected a bit more. Martin was our tour guide and he was great. His voice was loud and he knew what he was doing. Just keep in mind that you should honestly be in shape for this tour because you are consistently having to jog/run to keep up with the tour guide to stay on schedule. I would not recommend for anyone who cannot keep up. All in all, we had a smaller group, so it felt more intimate and it was nice meeting others from different countries and states. And you are able to get nice pictures throughout.
