Went in and ended up getting an Extremely expensive, all electric AddMotor Trike. I was ready to pay in full for it, but salesman talked me into the 'Extended Pay' program through Synchrony Bank and the 'Freedom to Ride' program! IF YOU CAN PAY, DO NOT USE THIS PROGRAM!! They automatically give you a credit card, over 30% interest! Before I got any paperwork for the 'free loan' they sent me an unsolicited credit card with interest on that card over 30%! I thought it was an unsolicited credit card so I cut it up and threw it away. Almost instantly, I got daily comments through text messages, why have you not activated your credit card? Your credit card needs to be activated immediately!! I don't want their over 30% credit card!! Followed by texts, counting down days to payment due! When I try and set up account on the Synchrony bank app., to make a payment, I find that without a Synchrony bank account or their credit card, They tell me that they can't find me and no payment can be made at this time. No Credit Card or Checking or Savings account, located with Synchrony. So I call them and get someone with extremely limited English at the Offshore Call Center!! This person tells me that they will only accept payments through the Synchrony Bank. Either mail a check or money order, or my personal bank debit card information. Tried to pay in FULL using my personal debit card, but would not accept payment more than $500.00. I am glad this is a one purchase only transaction, because I will never go back to a business that insists on me using their payment program, instead of letting me go ahead and pay for my purchase at the time of purchase! P.S. I do enjoy the trike, just not the company that I have to make the payments to!! I just won't be going back very soon to this business! I located a shop near me that lubed the squeaks and will do any future repairs I may need. Also, their "chat" is not actually live. They tell you they will contact you in a few minutes, but it's been over hours and I'm still waiting. read more

Totally forgot to drop these guys a review! Wow! Man, WOW! I haven't had service like this in a while. Being a Store Manager that I am, customer service is everything to me. They were so welcoming to me over the phone, I just had to bring my business over. I stopped by to get a crankset swapped out and just even over the phone the information that was provided to me was well organized and knowledgeable. I felt safe and comfortable, even when I went and dropped my bike off. Everything was so easy and smooth. They even communicated with me as they took care of the job. My new chain ring was not going to fit with my current chain that I had so they went ahead and texted me pictures of all the varieties they had and I made my selection without a problem. Upon picking up my bike, I couldn't stop staring at it. It took me like 20 minutes to even just pay lol. The location is really smooth, right off the freeway and parking is really easy. They are so nice and awesome that you WANT to give them business. I have tools here at home, but we have to support our locals and support each other at that. I spent $450 on tune up service, detailed wash,and parts. ($120 service, $60 on a bar & grips, $217 tires, $20 on tubes) only to get a wrong size bar, grips that didn't fit, and a Dirty frame... Moral of the story, always drive out of your way (if you have to) for your bike's service. This included a "Full detailed wash & polish" only to find that there was still gunk near the crank and sticker residue all over the frame. There was even a sticker on the stem from the previous owner that they forgot to take off. I verbatim asked and paid for a full wipe down and wash and honestly it doesn't even look like they tried to clean it. There was still sticker residue all over the top of the frame that easily came off when I wiped it. Worst part is the day I dropped it off to get service. The clerk Daniela helped me pick out a handle bar and grips. Only to find out the day I go pick my bike up, that the grips do not fit the bar, and so I had to ride it out of there grip-less. I later found out that the hb wasn't even the right diameter for the stem and way to short for the front brake lever. They could have at least called me during the week to tell me that the parts they picked and I paid for didn't fit instead of letting me ride out of there grip-less. After I left Just Ride, I Took my bike to a reputable shop on the east side of town, and they gave me the free diagnostic. Apparently the bar isn't the right size for that stem. That shop didn't have the type of bar I was looking for so they referred me to another good bike shop down the street who would have the handle bar I was going for. Second shop got me right with a new hb and appropriate brake cable. The tech there then informed me that the botched service used the wrong cable for the brake which was also way too short. Wrong side of the bar for front brakes too if we're being nit-picky. When I had dropped off the bike they just said to come by a week later on Wednesday. I show up around noon and they tell me that the techs are barely working on it, and that they would call me. Would have been nice to know that I would receive a call when ready. I knew something was up the moment I looked at my bike when I went to go pick it up from Just Ride. At the very least Just Ride refunded me for the grips, so I'll give them that. But not the wrong diameter sized bar. Id avoid them and recommend you drive out of your way to get serviced at better shops. read more

I come here about once a year for the last 3 years either for maintenance or in today's case to maybe invest in a new bike. I was greeted at the door and helped right away. I am still relatively ignorant and new to biking world but they were clear to let me know it was a judge free zone and they were their to help with my questions which is always nice to hear when you're coming in to something new. I told them my concerns about my current bike and my needs out of a bike and they showed me a few bikes that could fit my needs through different price ranges. I love options so it was nice to not even ask for options, they kinda just read my mind. I ended up going with one of their recommendations and man... they checked every box of needs out of a bike I mentioned to them. Cherry on top: like I said I come maybe once a year, even moved to Arizona for 3 years and came back and the owner still recognized. Such a good feeling and great customer service! read more

I ordered my bicycle online. My height is almost 6'2 so I was not sure if I was a ML or L. I am also in an ankle cast recovering from surgery. The owner and or lead was super helpful, I came to get the bike and he made sure to help size me on the bike by holding it in position so I could get a feel for the bike and pedal in place. Without his help I'm sure this would have been a long drawn out process! He also provided me with a fix it kit and let me keep the basic pedals used to test the bike. The Corona virus has certainly done a reset on how we experience life. There is so much we can't do right now so, in some respects, we have to reinvent ourselves. I still have the same vintage Schwinn that I bought as a kid but, like all road bikes, it's annoying to put it into a car. Lately, I've been thinking about Brompton bicycles: small-wheeled marvels that fold down to almost nothing. The design is so iconic that examples often appear in art museum collections. Last year, I saw one at the Cooper-Hewitt museum in New York and it's been in my mind ever since. Last week, I went to Just Ride LA to look at the large display of Bromptons. Seeing all the different colors was like being in a candy store. I'm 6'3": would I fit on one? I rode two and was stunned how much it felt like a full-sized bike. The only immediate noticeable difference is that the steering is much tighter but that can often be a good thing. I was sold, maybe even smitten, and I walked out carrying a black M6L titanium model. It was so oddly satisfying just throwing it in the back seat. When I got home, I spent a few hours mastering the Brompton fold and unfold: it takes less than 30 seconds to do. I've now been on this thing from Malibu to Venice and Santa Monica in between. I hit the streets of Downtown LA and the biking trails in the Valley. I love the ride and, more importantly, the flexibility that a Brompton offers. To throw this bike in my car and be able to ride at a moment's notice gives me such freedom. (That feeling is especially valuable during a time when we all feel more constraints about what we can do.) I don't have to lock up the Brompton because I fold it then carry it into a store or restaurant. It's an expensive bike and not worrying about someone stealing it is peace of mind. If I get a flat, no worries: fold it then take a ride share. The Brompton is one of the most satisfying purchases I've made in years. read more

I have been on the fence regarding the purchase of a foldable bike but due to a limited living space and nowhere outside of my apartment to safe keep a bike, having a foldable made perfect sense. Customer service was excellent. I had my 6yo son with me. He was constantly interrupting me and the associate but she, Parker, was so patient and answered all my questions and offered info that I didn't know to ask regarding the purchase of a bike. Many years ago, I was looking for a specific color combination Brompton bicycle. I checked out a few stores in LA that sold Bromptons, and noticed JRLA had one of the largest selections. While they didn't have my specific model in stock, they were getting one in a few weeks later. So I asked them to let me know when it arrived so I could purchase it. Not only does the store have a lot of Brompton bikes, they have a lot of accessories. When I picked up the bike, they installed a Brookes saddle and some handgrips that I purchased. Fast forward to earlier this yeah. I decided to take advantage of their $99 tune-up deal. It only took them 2-3 days, and when I got it back I could feel the difference. My experience with the tube up was so good, that I now plan on having my Specialized Fuse (they don't sell Specialized unfortunately) served there too. The employees are very friendly, knowledgeable and obviously love biking. JRLA markets itself as a community-based brand, and it is reflected in its store and employees. read more

My first 2 bikes were Giants and the bikes served me well for years and came at a very reasonable price point. Seeing that my friend was new to biking and lost in all the options, we needed a stop at a physical location. Hence, I found this gem on the Giant Bikes Website. JRLA has a great Yelp reputation and also has reasonably priced sales promoted online so we decided to stop by. We parked in the free black gated lot and were greeted by a sales rep upon entering. He asked us what we were looking for and gently guided us in the direction without hovering. We were able to browse freely. When we were ready we came out to ask questions. I loved that it gave us space to feel free to look as we were getting aquatinted. My friend got a better idea as to what may be more fitting and when ready, we would be back. I got my Giant TCR Advanced CP2 here, and while I do like the staff, I do notice that the servicing of my bike hasn't been that great. I know that after a few rides, the cables can get loosened and need adjustments, which I noticed from some "clunks" while just pedaling, and not just during shifting. The technician did something with the front derailleur to actually made it worse, because when I go to top 3 fastest gear on my cassette, the chain rubbed against the front derailleur guide. I found out when I took it to my local Trek Bike that the Giant tech took one of the screws for adjusting and insert it from the other side in order to "compensate" for the clunk. The Trek mechanics fixed it and I haven't had a problem since. read more
