Last Summer I purchased a hybrid bike for myself here, this past weekend I purchased a mountain bike for my seven year old. Both times someone was quick to offer help. However, since both times we were looking at bikes in the "inexpensive" range, I feel like we were given the bare minimum when it came to help asking us questions and offering suggestions as to sizing, etc. I wanted it to feel like a more collaborative experience rather than me asking what I thought were the right questions and hoping that they weren't just rushing me out for a quick sell. I do like that they offer free service on their bikes for quick adjustments, etc. I'll be bringing my bike and my son's bike in soon for sure, just to get everything tuned in after a few weeks of riding. People here are definitely nice, and they do sell a quality brand (Specialized), but there's just something missing from the experience for me to give them that coveted 5th star. read more

Absolutely the worst bike shop of all time. I brought my two bikes here on 4/19 to have both of them serviced. I picked my Yeti up two days after, but I didn't receive a call about my girlfriends bike back until 4/27. On 4/29, I went to pick up her bike and was waiting for 45 minutes before someone came out and said that they can't find it and they'll call me tomorrow. The next day comes and I call them to inquire because they didn't call me and they said that they donated the bike and they'd try to get it back. Well now 2 days later they finally found it and I went to pick it up. The issue with this place is that they don't have any care for their customers, I was standing there for 10 minutes while multiple people walked by me before I had to stop and tell them I needed help. Just had a great experience at BikeSource! I purchased a bike through them, and have had it in a few times for adjustments. After a recent bike trip the brakes were in bad shape, gears not shifting properly, and the chain needed some love. I expected to have to leave the bike for a few days. Eric took the time to fully assess the bike, and make the needed adjustments to the derailer, oiled the chain, and sanded the brakes right there with me. It was a great experience, and I'm happy I purchased the bike through them! read more

Tandem creaking fixed! We took our custom Paketa in for possible bottom bracket creaking. Blake not only checked that, he found some other problems that we didn't know about in our rear hub and fine tuned the Di2 shifting and brakes. I visited BikeSource as they were the closest CycleOps dealer and I needed a part for my trainer. The part is not one offered as a replacement. Eric immediately tried to find it and when he couldn't he called CycleOps directly. They not only agreed to send the part (and the entire assembly) but they did it at no charge. A few days later my trainer was as good as new. When you can but virtually anything online at a discount service and expertise is what sets a local shop apart and earns my business. Terrible service. Took my bike in on Saturday, they said it would be ready Wednesday or Thursday. Call Thursday and they said it would be ready Friday and hadn't even been started. Called Friday afternoon and they had an even touched it still. Called Monday afternoon and they still hadn't touched it. Don't get why it takes so many follow ups to get them to do the work. Blake is our guy. He fixed a fit issue that no less than 4 other fitters could not get right. I had literally bought every single bike saddle known to man kind to attempt to fix my numerous issues on my bike. I spent countless hundreds of dollars and finally even gave up on my bike all together. I went as far as buying another frame and building it up with the parts from my one of a kind S-works Amira, Highroads team bike. I ended up ruining the new frame in a wreck and had no choice but to rebuild the Amira. I went to Blake as my final attempt to get the bike reasonably comfortable. Blake is no less than a miracle worker on a bike fit. He made my Amira fit me better than any bike I've ever had, even my favorite Ruby Expert. I honestly cannot say enough great things about Blake. If you have saddle or other "bike issues", do yourself a huge favor and have Blake fit you. read more

Trey helped me out throughout the whole buying a new mountain bike experience. Anyone that has ever looked at bikes knows there are so many little differences, and trust me I had every question to ask. Thankfully Trey was super knowledgeable and patient and took the time to really explain the differences in bikes and everything there is to know about mountain biking in general, he also prepped up some bikes for me to demo around outside their shop. I ended up buying a Santa Cruz tallboy, and will be going back in future for anything else bike related. read more

Hard to get more aloof and rude. Some customer tips: greet customers when they come in the store, be sincere, try to smile and have eye contact, if you're helping a customer through checkout or on the sales floor your singular focus should be that customer and never carry on dialog with other employees showing disinterest in the customer that you're allegedly assisting, don't make your prideful elite bicycle prowess come through in an arrogant or demeaning way. Because Bike Source routinely violates these basic principles the only conclusion one can draw is, like so many customer facing organizations, the management team doesn't care about the customer and they don't make customer care core to their training and mentoring. Whoever owns Bike Source may want to audit, "undercover boss" style, this store and take some corrective actions. I will be shopping at Elevation or Wheatridge Cyclery for now on. read more

This review is for the Bike Source on County Line. Two or three years ago I received very good service at this location; however, in the last year or so my experience has not been positive. Perhaps there has been a management change? Recently I've encountered long waits before the staff could tear themselves away from their phone to offer service. I also had an experience with a piece of defective clothing I purchased there. The attitude was basically 'tough luck' don't let the door hit you on the way out. This used to be my bike shop of choice. In fact, I have purchased 6 bikes from them. Over the last year or so though the attitude has gone down hill. I was just in there a few minutes ago and I was talking with the guy who runs the shop about some foot issues. I could tell he really didn't want to help me, he just wanted me to schedule a fit, spend the money and maybe we can help you. A few years back these guys were pretty customer oriented, not so anymore, it is too bad. I have probably spent over $12k on bikes over the years, but my next bike wont be from these guys. We were in the store last Friday and were looking at hybrid bikes. There was only one other person in the store at the time and we did not have a sale person ask us if we needed any help for 20 minutes. We finally went up to the counter to ask if we could test ride the bike. My wife test rode the bike and really liked it but wanted to know if we could get it for a cheaper price? The lady said that she would have to talk with her manager first. She said that we could put the bike on hold and she would let us know on Sunday what the manager said. Here it is the following Saturday and we still have not heard back yet. We had been to the other Bike Source stores in Denver and they had great customer service. I am not sure what is wrong with this store but we will most likely never go back. read more

Bike Source has the most complete selection of good quality biking equipment and supplies within 10 mile of my home. The staff are all bikers themselves and know how to direct you in the right direction or show you what is the latest in new technology. They are also very friendly. The prices are not always the best (there are cheaper stores in north Denver), but I love the service. read more

Bought a bike here on the recommendation of a friend. I will not be going back. I came in late June to get sized and find the right bike for me as I have not owned a bike in 15+ years. Found it but didn't have the truck with me, so I had to come back a couple days later to buy the bike and bring it home. The bike I test rode was sold, so they looked in the back and eventually found the same one (after trying to upsell me about 4 times because the sales woman did not want to keep looking for the one I wanted). I did not test ride this one before bringing it home, which I now know was a big mistake. I bought the bike July 3. The first time I rode the bike, the chain would not stay on the rear gears - kept jumping around. And the derailleur was bent even though it had never touched anything while under my care. The shop eventually agreed to replace the rear cassette and derailleur, although they clearly felt as if I had done the damage, and told me so several times. They then told me if I wanted the job done quickly that I would have to drive to one of their other stores to get the parts and deliver them. When I finally picked it up, I got a lecture about being careful (with a mountain bike!) from both the tech as well as the cashier. This past weekend, I was riding and took a very minor fall. The bike fell on me and I have a couple bruises, that's it. But the left handlebar hit the ground and the right gear shifter quit working. Instead of getting a lecture, followed by a denial of warranty from them, I took it to Bicycle Village. I would rather pay out of pocket for my own repairs than deal with them anymore. Customer service matters and they do not have it. read more

Waited for 20 minutes, and would up taking pictures of my shoe size in their foot measurement device...went home & bought specialized bike shoes on Amazon. Saved $100 as well on a comparable shoes. Stopped in today for an accessory. I was very impressed with the customer service and customer service is one of my biggest pet peeves. It's a pretty well stocked store from what I saw from first glance. I didn't walk around the entire store, but browsed a majority of it. The staff is super friendly, not pushy whatsoever and very knowledgeable to boot. Incompetent shop as well as sales staff. If you have expensive bike, you want to avoid this shop by all means! Having said that, this store has a hand full of experienced people, who, unfortunately, can't cover for all ignorant staff members. Prices are higher than most other bike stores - they managed not to sell a single bike to my family in a decade. The only 'pro' to this store is that they may have hard to find part for "Specialized" brand bikes. I had unfortunate experience around 2013 when I took my expensive downhill bike here for a simple repair - they installed the right parts, but in the wrong order, which caused damage to my bike 2-3 weeks later. When I brought my bike back into this shop and pointed out their mistakes, there was no denial they did it wrong, however, there was no apology or offering to repair my bike at their expense - I had to pay even more now to cover repairs that they caused by their service! Not to mention a couple of weeks wait! Needless to say, I switched the shops for all my bike needs. In 2016 I had to use this store again for a simple fix of my kid's bike, which was completed in 8 days to my satisfaction (after several back-and-forth conversations on the phone about shop being late). However, several weeks later the service employee called me to say that I did not pay for services provided and I must produce my receipt as a proof of payment, or else... Imagine this! They can't even track customer's payments, what a mess! Imagine you purchase a bike, pay several thousand dollars for it and the store calls you weeks later demanding a proof of purchase from you, the customer! This time I am positive I will never use this store again! read more

Go to Golden Bike shop instead, or Wheat Ridge Cyclery. These guys are not experienced and would be better as greeters at Walmart. Went in with my husband to buy a new bike for myself. Sales guy was rude to us right away, stating that women should be on full suspension, no matter what.......even on a 29er ( I am 5.8", expert racer). OK, pretty much the most stupid thing to ever be said, but OK, sometimes people are stupid, let us see what you have. Sales guy keeps being rude, stops helping when my husband mentioned he was going to buy a bike today too, and joked if there were any deals......wow, dude just walked away. Anyways, My husband found a bike in his size 4,500 USD, and the sales guy lies right to his face on the model year (last years bike), husband shows him the internet photo of the manufacturers website stating the correct model year and the sales guy's mistake, but the guy refuses to acknowledge it ......seriously? We left. they lost 6,500 worth of sales because of stupidity. read more

I have been in many bikes shops and even worked in one for a year, and I couldn't be happier with the service I got. After having my new road bike built at another shop, I took it into BikeSource because it just didn't feel right. The mechanic Jack looked at it and immediate found many flaws in how it was originally built. I had a triathlon coming up and was leaving for Steamboat the next day. Jack took the time to go through everything on my bike and essentially had to "rebuild" it. After spending a substantial time fixing what another shop had failed to do, he also helped make sure it was fit to me. I road the bike 10 miles home and couldn't be happier with how the bike felt. Thank you Jack for taking the time to make sure I could ride my new bike safely for my race! I will definitely be back! read more

I've been really struggling with finding a local bike shop (LBS) that doesn't suck. I think I finally found it, unexpectedly, at Bike Source. I've been in to the store part a handful of times over the last couple of weeks, had a few phone questions and today I visited the shop. Every single person I dealt with was super helpful and the shop dude, Joe, was incredibly knowledgeable without being arrogant or irritable. 3 trips to buy a bike and they still couldn't get it right. (I've bought 4 bikes here in the past) 1st trip, not a bike built with the right size frame. Looking at a Specialized Crossroads Elite. The bike on the showroom floor is a medium frame. Salesguy says I really should have a large. They can build one, and it will be ready tomorrow. I come back. I get on the large. Next Salesguy says, gee, they should have measured you, because you should be on an extra large frame. I can build you one and it will be ready tomorrow (which is today). He says it will be ready at 1 PM. I leave work early, change clothes and arrive at 2:30. No bike. Still in the box. Same Salesguy says they can build it and it will only take an hour. That will be my last time with this company. read more

Laura and Eric (GM) were great! I returned a new bike from another store and they quickly put me on the Stumpy I needed (last ST for a good bit!). I regretfully did not get the bike technician's name but he talked me through the final assembly stages while I waited, pointed out helpful tips and answered questions. That must be annoying for technicians, but I did not get anything but positive insight. Despite being very busy, the staff was attentive and the GM took the time to set up (fit) the bike for me himself. I travel out of my way to do business with this store. I was very fortunate to be connected with a superb salesperson, Josh, who was above-and-beyond helpful to me in my search for a top-tier mountain bike. In spite of limited inventory, he found me a superb Specialized bike that was exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, he could not find a bike for my wife in her size, suited for her ability and riding style. But driving home, my phone rang, and it was Josh calling to tell me he had called a competitor's shop, and they had a killer deal on an awesome bike for my wife. I own two Specialized bikes and once again- I struggle with this stores customer centricity. I dropped off my Rockhopper for a new Headset and 12 days later it was ready. First the wrong parts were ordered that took 8 days, then when the right set was found- they asked me to wait another 2 days. At no time did they offer an apology or provide any pricing relief to very expensive repair of $76 bucks for a 30 dollar headset. I'm heading back to BikeVillage. 03/31- Just took delivery of a new Stump Jumper FSR- from Wheat Ridge Cyclery. I gave Bike Source another shot at my business and the sales person was unresponsive. read more

I commute by bike from Denver to Highlands Ranch. Riding to work several weeks ago, my rear derailleur cable snapped mid-shift. Bike Source was the closest open bike shop, so I dropped it off there. While it was in, I asked them to perform the deluxe tune - disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and adjustment. In the process, they found several other worn parts in need of replacement, which wasn't surprising because I put a lot of miles on this bike. At each stage of the process, they called me, explained what they had found, and told me about my options. They even offered me a discount when the price got higher than I had planned. In the end, they called me a day before they had originally estimated the job would be finished, and I picked up the bike. They talked me through what they had done and showed me the worn parts they replaced. In response to my questions, they let me know that some parts I suspected were worn did not in fact need replacing. The bike now rides at least as well as it did when I bought it new, and maybe better. The shifting is crisp and smooth, the drive train is clean and quiet, there is now zero play in pedals and wheels, the new bar tape is cushy and better wound than the original, and the bike is so clean and shiny it gleams. I haven't dealt with their sales department, but I can say from experience that their service is top notch. read more

I had an all-time awful experience with inattentive, unhelpful salespeople and getting sent home with wrong product in the bag - I was really disappointed, especially considering I ran a shop for 7 years. Anyway, came back the next day and the manager Hans was very apologetic and worked to square up the transaction. He seemed like a good guy and was pretty earnest in trying to make things right.
