I actually got a follow up email from a couple of different teachers after my first classes with them. The whole experience is very humbling and encouraging and supportive. I was originally introduced to Bikram Yoga in Atlanta 6 years ago. I missed it tremendously after moving to Athens and spent the last 5 years hoping someone would open a Bikram studio in or near Athens. My wish FINALLY came true in December of 2011 when Bikram Yoga Athens opened. I signed up for an unlimited annual pass as soon as the website was up and running. Woo hoo!! I treated myself to a 60 day challenge that began early in January this year. A few of my friends thought I was crazy - 60 classes in 60 days! When asked why I was willing to schedule my life around my yoga practice, I answered, "Each time I walk into the studio, I'm choosing me." I was rewarded with immediate results - improved flexibility, more relaxed state of mind, increased strength, better balance, higher quality of sleep, decreased back and hip pain, and an increase in lung capacity. I even beat my husband - an avid runner - in a lung function test we both took during our annual physicals. :-) The deeper benefits became apparent after my 41st or 42nd consecutive day. I suddenly found myself thinking the 90 minutes in class just flew by. I was noticeably experiencing the benefits of a moving meditation. I now attend class 3 or 4 times a week. And, I'm still in love with the practice. The days I attend class are the best ones in my week. I have more energy, am more focused, and just generally feel better. Jolin, Natalie, and the guest instructors are simply wonderful. They're clearly focused on helping each practitioner get the most out of every class. And, the studio is simply stunning. By far, the BEST yoga studio in Athens. The studio is beautiful. It has an amazing array of retail items. From mats, to yoga clothes for both men and women, tanks and t shirts, mat towels and water bottles. Everything you need to take a yoga class! The teachers are the amazing. Well trained with a variety of styles. They are really what has kept me going there for three years now. The offer a wide variety of classes with multiple times throughout the day to fit everyone's scheduling needs. Vinyasa, Bikram, yin, Pilates, Rocket and many different workshops throughout the year. The locker rooms are well kept with showers and top notch bath products. I highly recommend it. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned yogi, it's a MUST in the Athens yoga community. All 5 stars- WA-BAM! I bought the introductory membership deal while visiting Athens over the summer. If I was a student or still lived in town, I would be a member. I love my hot yoga and I was very impressed by this studio. The modern and refurbished industrial building for the studio? So. Athens. I LOVE IT. Check-in, store, try on room all upon walk-in. Downstairs are clean and handy dandy restrooms and shower areas. They lock everything up during class, so you can practice even more free of mind knowing your stuff is safe. Then you can leave fresh and so clean because there's the shower area I just mentioned. Ah, but back up stairs is the large, clean, open, blue carpet room for class. I am super serious about cleanliness at a studio and this place nails it. After class they even swoop through and tidy up before you enter. They stagger the classes to make this possible. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Nothing is refreshing about laying in pools of other people's namastes. Yuck. Instructors learn your name and even greet and say the names of everyone before class begins. This is a nice way of introducing everyone to the people in the room and creating a community, not just a class. You get instruction throughout the entire class and help as you need it. I pushed and challenged myself to go 10 for 10, and boyyyyyy did I start to feel it. I really, really like this studio. Added bonus: I got an email stating they now sell Lululemon in store. I went there for the first time last night and definitely want to go back! The instructor knew the names of everyone in the class and made an attempt to give personal attention to everyone. He used constant reminders throughout the whole class so that you wouldn't forget to target all of your muscles. I was nervous about being able to tolerate the heat but I was very hydrated and made it through the whole class feeling great. I also slept better last night than I have in a very long time! :) You should go. No matter what level you are or injuries you have, they will work with you! read more

I've been here before, and enjoyed my experience. However, the last time I was there, I was one (1) minute late (because the parking meter was not working properly), and they kicked me out. I would have been fine with this, except they were rude about it and did not offer apologies, an explanation, or anything of the sort. They just made me leave the building (I was already inside). I don't think the instructor had even started talking. A yoga studio, in my experience, has nothing but good vibes and positive energy. It's unfortunate that I didn't experience it that time, but I know they are capable of it. I won't be back, but if you go, just make sure you get there early! read more

Fuel Hot Yoga. I stayed at The Graduate for 3 days and walked to classes here 3 days, tried out 3 different teachers, 2 Bikram classes and one 90 min hot. All were awesome teachers who took the effort to know my name even though I was a visitor. Great verbal cues and physical adjustments! Very beautiful practice by all instructors. I'll be back next time I'm in town! read more

One of the best studios I've ever been to. I was visiting from out of town and blown away by how nice this studio was. Great instruction you can hear from a PA that isn't too loud. Room had beautiful light, lots of mirrors, and an even temperature distribution. The Tuesday morning class had plenty of space for the participants. Class ends with a refreshing cold scented towel for final savasana. Showers were available in the locker room. Mat and towel rental were available too. Hope I can come visit again! read more

I really like this studio, it's very zen and the people were super friendly and helpful. I'm not a normal yoga guy tight I don't really know what that means but everybody's been nice and kind of let me ease into poses and the whole experience. The heat can get to you so if you're going to show up drink a little bit of water well drink a lot of water make sure you have water with you just remember to take it easy and go with the flow. I definitely recommend this place to anybody that wants to try yoga or is already in yoga wants to add a little heat. read more

This was my first experience with BIkram yoga, though I have been practicing yoga for a little over 10 years and have attended one hot-power yoga before. The instructor was very high energy, though a little repetitive. I understand why people don't consider BIkram "true yoga", but it was a really great work out, got a great sweat on and some really good stretching in. I wouldn't say that its for someone looking the benefits of more traditional yoga, but it's a great way to burn some calories and break a sweat, I'll be back for sure! read more

What an unbelievable experience! The hot room yoga practice is like none other!!! I feel so good, healthy, and strong from the inside as a result of many months of this yoga practice. It's an extreme form of yoga but it's done wonders for me. It really gives you an extra edge to help with your normal work out routine as it helps detox your body and also teaches you to breathe better, on top of the stretching for better blood flow and flexibility. The instructors are great. You do have to make the time though as you have to be there for the whole class. They lock the doors to prevent people from coming in and stealing your things from the changing rooms. I recommend it to everyone. read more

Took my first class 8/2/2015 after a conversation with a friend about our bodies aching and getting. I said "I hear Yoga is good for that". I picked this studio only because it was the closes to my house and would now drive whatever distance needed to get to it. I have lost 28 lbs in 6 months, feel amazing and have so much energy! Since my first day I have been attending 4-6 days a week. The studio is amazing, students and teachers are very welcoming and give you a place to belong no matter your size, shape, flexibility, strength or etc. Just show up and do your practice..whatever that may be. read more
