The owner and instructor (Charlotte) is fantastic and very personable. Flow yoga is primarily what they focus on and I definitely got my sweat and stretch on. There was calming music (which I loved) and the hour class ended with a great relaxation period (was not rushed at all, unlike other studios I have gone to). I was looking for some variety in poses and more focus on meditation and this place covered both!

(Yes, I live within 100 feet of train tracks. Yes, the train goes by often. No, it does not wake me up at night.) Rubber Soul is tucked away in the pretty yet unassuming Leathers Building, which is on Pulaski Street right before you get to the tracks. Rubber Soul has a small door marked with a stand-up metal YOGA sign; their front door always has that month's class schedule posted for the taking. Rubber Soul is a donations-based yoga center. A $3-5 donation per class attended is suggested but not monitored or required. (Not monitored as in they don't watch each person enter to see if they're paying or not.) I paid $5 my first time but only $2 today. You can go for free if you can't afford to donate, and they won't hate you for it. The classes are all taught by volunteer teachers who really believe that yoga can help you physically and spiritually. Thus far, no one I've encountered over there is overly preachy, so that's nice. The space is small but comfortable. Yoga mats can be rented for a $1 donation; bottles of water cost the same. Yoga bricks (?) and blankets are yours for the taking during class. I went to Laughing Club there a few months back with some friends. A fun and strange experience in which we spent an hour making weird noises, movements, and giggles. You should try it, especially if the idea freaks you out. Today I went to Gentle Yoga and loved it. Even the gentle class was a little workout for this novice! I love that this place is a non-profit. I love how involved they are with the community. I love the cozy space that doesn't waste resources. I love and don't love that the schedule changes month to month. This is a great Tai Chi class!!! We do a lot more than just the Tai Chi form. We spend time warming…read moreup with stretching exercises and breathing. I have become so much more flexible since starting this class. At the end of each class, we spend a few minutes meditating. It really reduces my stress and I leave refreshed and with a feeling of accomplishment. This class is like extended family, our instructor is kind and explains how each thing we do affects our body. Even my 89 year old mother loves this class, and never wants to miss it!!!

I joined Forge-Rx after being a member of the larger gym in town. That particular gym did not have…read moreenough equipment for enrollment size. Forge RX is a smaller, family owned gym. The owners are good people. I do like that they have several sets of dumbbells, so you aren't waiting for people to finish their set (most women use 10 to 25 lbs. There are many sets throughout the gym). They keep the gym clean, which is a major plus to me. They take pride in their gym. The only minor issue I had was I was working out in the smaller weight area behind the front desk & the young lady came and fumigated the area w Lysol as I was working out. It's not something I want to deeply inhale as I'm "in the zone". The lockers in the female locker room are hit or miss w the locks working & a lot of people just leave their stuff there on a permanent basis making it hard to find an empty locker sometimes to secure your belongings. It is a smaller gym, so there is no hip abuctor machine or leg curl. There is only one smith machine which is popular. There are a lot of teenagers that work out as a group here and take a good bit of time on the machines doing their sets. Which, it's good to see them engaged in a healthy lifestyle, I just wish there were more machines. They do offertraininh classes and nutrition guidance (for a fee). I have not used these services, but my neighbor does and she looks absolutely amazing. They do have a smaller infared sauna that you can pay extra for. Just be sure to schedule your time to ensure you get to use it. I take my own bath towel & sweat it all out. (They have smaller, hard sized towels to sit on) The area is kept very clean & I have seen the health benefits already. Overall, I enjoy this gym verses the others in town & if you're looking for a lot of weight loss, it appears to me that their coaching programs are worth it and small enough that you get personalized attention.

None of the cleaners were filled nor was the paper towels or TP. I came in took 6.5 hours cleaning the first day. Then came back every day for the rest of the week. Members seen me and complimented my cleaning duties.. from 5/17/2026-5/24/2026 I've worked a total of 17.5 hours @$15.00 an hour.. which I considered a deal. I've yet to receive any pay!! Him and his dad refused to pay me!! All I ask for is what I'm owed! I will not enter that gym due to the lack of care to the gym or its members!!! PAY ME WHAT I AM OWED!!
