This yoga studio is an amazing opportunity to try out a range of classes, from high temperature Bikram to pilates, meditation, and other forms of non-heated yoga like Ashtanga. They offer a $59 2-week intro that lets you try out a few classes and their unlimited packages are a reasonable price. I'm glad they offer the intro because I wasn't sure if it was going to be for me, but now I'm hooked. I really adore going to Anne, Brian, and David's classes. They are great teachers who correct your posture and lead you to success in these poses. You can tell they love to teach, which makes it even more enjoyable being a student. I always feel amazing at the end of class and feel it's given me both physical and mental discipline which is priceless. read more

After experiencing several stellar Bikram yoga studios in NYC over the last few years, my wife and I were worried about what Long Island had to offer. We were thrilled to find the little oasis that is Roslyn Bikram Yoga. Personally, I feel that Judy has been sent from the heavens to show us the light. Call me old skool, but I love that she's a hands-on teacher, actively correcting our postures during class, and giving us that little extra stretch-nudge when we need it. She has such a positive and encouraging aura that is motivating and helps me dig deep when the going gets tough. She also often bakes snacks for us, which is a nice little touch, especially after you're done "baking" yourself inside :) Finally, the staff (hey Steph!) and the community of people are also great and very friendly. My only complaint about the studio is that there should be a water fountain available to fill up our bottles! It would save on the plastic. Thank you! read more

I never thought hot yoga would be my thing. I started with an intro package at a place in Bayside recommended by a yogi friend. It was okay, sorta mechanical, do these movements and poses in this really hot room with 30+ people on any early weekend mornings. I yelped for a studio closer to my home, and found Bikram Yoga Roslyn. It's a great find, the instructors are mellower, and many took the time to correct my poses. It may be a stylistic thing, but I would rather make sure my poses are correct and effective than just going through the motions of the 26 poses. It has been 6 months, and I can feel the difference on my body if I miss a few sessions. I compliment my workout at the gym with hot yoga and managed to stave off post workout aches and pains. I have not had a need for massage for the last 6 months. Working on my 70th class! Back to the studio, it's cozy, clean, and friendly. Other studios sometimes feel like a competition, Roslyn is definitely welcoming and non-judgmental, even the students are mostly very nice. My favorite instructors, due to scheduling, are Judy, Dan, Karina, Brian & Jaime. They are patient and really seem to care. Always a pleasure to take their classes. read more

I am by no means a yogi, in fact, I can't even touch my own toes, but every few months I treat myself to a yoga class. I usually go with friends in the city but being home for the holidays, and my gym being closed on Christmas, I gave Bikram Rosalyn a shot...since they were the only place open. $25 for one class is a bit pricey (I usually pay $7-15 in Manhattan), but you truly get a quality, non-hipster experience. Judy was the instructor for the 7:30am class and she was excellent. She's so friendly, knowledgeable, and she really gets to know her clients. The studio is clean and welcoming, you can rent towels and mats, and when it's over, they bring out wet, cold towels that smell like lavender. read more

This place is top-notch. I took my first class yesterday with Yvette who is hands-down one of the best instructors I've had. Going in for a 90 minute class on New Year's Day after a bit of a hiatus = I thought "what was I thinking?!!" I've been practicing hot vinyasa for about a year but was deterred from Bikram due to experiences at other studios in Manhattan. I read the reviews for BYR and decided to give it another chance. The studio itself is beautiful. The colorful and warm space matches the general vibe. My class was very mixed in terms of levels and age/gender which I found to be refreshing. The instructor provided personalized attention to every student without singling anyone out yet it still felt like we were moving as a group. You can tell they really care about the well-being of their students and want to see people get the most value from class. I was most impressed by the corrections the instructor gave me. Fast, effective, and easy to understand. Looking forward to coming back to try more classes! read more

Highly recommend for all people with different types of flexibility. I usually go to Herald Square at weekend or Friday for my Bikram yoga classes which I enjoy very much but I always want a Long Island studio near my home for my weekdays classes that is clean, comfortable and modern environment. Luckily, I found the Bikram Yoga Roslyn with my google search and tried it out the same day. I purchased their 7 day unlimited pass for $ 25 which is a good deal at any point. I tried this place last Saturday through 3 week unlimited trial, which was only $49. I like the coziness of the studio even though the studio could improve a little bit such as particular smell of hot yoga. I took the class with Mary. She would walk you through every movement. At first, I thought she was a little slow but it was actually effective. Later, I felt really refreshed. I was tired and a little bloated before the class but it was instantly effective. I could get into my favorite pair of jeans. Make sure you get plenty of water since if you don't, you will feel a little dizzy. I am planning to keep going to this place. LOVE this place! Jen and Jamie (owners) are there to serve us students and staff and teachers are very friendly. I did not expect this studio to take me to this Yoga journey. I did not expect for me to last this long and it has been three years since I started! You think "just 26 postures".... well, think again! Every time you go take a class, you learn something new and realize the depth of postures and practice every time. Every teacher offers something different and they are all different. Tonight was my first time doing hot yoga and I thoroughly enjoyed it (even though I left light headed and nauseous). The studio itself is very spacious. There is plenty of room for each student to place their mats and have enough space to move around. I'm taking advantage of their unlimited 3-week pass since it is so cheap..$49. Stay hydrated during the class and bring towels! You'll need one for the class and another just to put in the car. You will be drenched by the time you leave! read more

I moved to this area in June, I have been practicing Hot Yoga for the past 11 years. I have practiced in many different studios in NY and in the US as I travel I love taking different classes. Yesterday I took the WORST class ever. The instructor was antagonizing and rude. I took his class a few weeks before and figured I give him one more shot. First off, an hour class is supposed to be just that: ONE HOUR. He strolled into the class at 12:05. Obviously not respecting anyone's time. Then he proceeded to start the class and call people names. lazy, CLub med , and antagonizing a first time student. Comments like how much coffee did you drink this morning.. don't drink water.. picking on this poor girl Gracie the whole time...This is exactly the opposite of what YOGA and practicing stands for. I understand he is in love with himself and thinks he's Barkan, however we come there for peace and should not be ridiculed and embarrassed. In my ELEVEN years practicing I have never seen someone so nasty. I tried to stay as much as possible but he continued to talk down and pick on people, so I took my mat and proceeded to leave his class early. I was aggravated enough. As I walked out, he asked me if I knew the class is an hour, and what was I doing. I proceeded to tell him that I despised his style and I thought that he was nasty and that I was leaving. Honestly, instead of having a nice practice I was so upset. I looked down at time and it was 1:03, the class should have ended but they were not even at the closing series. He had at least ten minutes to go. Bottom line is, had he come in and stared on-time and not chastised people and kept to the series the class would be an hour as it should be. I would never ever take his class EVER! His name is Aldi and teaches a few classes at this studio. People should be aware!! read more

I come here for the Bikram's yoga :-) The instructors here are amazing! Been doing yoga for years, and have never been able to find a studio that was a perfect fit. Have some back issues and other things that yoga helps out with, the classes help tremendously. The studio is large and spotless.My class today with Adil is the best I have attended anywhere in or out of the US. All the instructors are excellent and give it their all. I've been doing bikram yoga for several years now off and on and most of the time I have gone to the city for lack of a welcoming clean environment on Long Island. I'm a huge fan and have seen and felt amazing benefits through this particular type of yoga practice, my absolute favorite. There is hot yoga and then there is Bikram. I always stick to Bikram because I know the instructors are well certified to teach and will make sure you are doing everything correctly. That being said, I decided to give this place a shot since it was great to see a studio so conveniently close to me. So I took the hubby, who is also a fan and we went together to check it out. Wow, I am so impressed with the cleanliness of the place, the little details like the beautiful showers that are so pristine you actually want to stay and take a shower...rare for a bikram studio. The studio itself is clean and smells good....that's right I said it smells GOOD!!! For you Bikram yogis you know exactly what I'm talking about. The instructor I had, big shout out to Steve was wonderful and the owner Jamie who is also an instructor was very welcoming. His passion for this place is so obvious. I will be a regular here and encourage anyone who has never tried bikram to come to this studio first. it is a great place to start a practice because you will be so spoiled over all the amenities and the lovely staff. read more

Bikram Yoga Roslyn is the real deal. Every instructor I have had the honor of being led by is fantastic. My practice has improved since coming to this studio. This studio has many different class times with 60 and 90 min classes. The entire studio is extremely clean. There are locker rooms with showers that contain shampoo/conditioner and body wash. I have not been put off by the Bikram yoga room smell as the carpet in the yoga room is sanitized. The staff and students are very friendly as well. I have absolutely no complaints. Yesterday was my first true Bikram yoga class. Jennifer, the instructor, was very welcoming and asked if this was my first time practicing this kind of yoga. I had taken hot yoga before, but that paled in comparison to this experience. No music, but that was perfect because it takes concentration and focus to be safe and get the poses right. I have been going to Bikram Yoga Roslyn for several months now and have had the opportunity to visit other studios when I travel. Based on these travels, I can tell you that this is a VERY nice studio. It looks like it is brand new! They have a super high tech heating/air filtration system and a non-smelly yoga carpet which is actually quite nice (= not gross!). Most importantly, the instructors and management are super nice, helpful and supportive. I just left class a little while ago where I was touching my exactly forehead to my exactly knee and I feel amazing. read more

On a recent visit with family on Long Island I decided to try a local Bikram studio instead of taking the weekend off from my normal practice. So glad I did! The studio is newer, very well decorated and immaculate. The owner, Jamie, has done a wonderful job of making the studio a tranquil space while still bringing in some up-to-date technology (making reservations online is very easy and convenient). Jamie, and my instructor Jenn made me feel very welcome, even knowing that I was just visiting the area. I had a small moment of disappointment when I saw that the floor in the yoga room was hardwood, only to be surprised to feel the softness when I stepped into the room. The floor is a new material (printed to look like a hardwood floor), not really carpet but soft and somewhat giving, with great grip so no sliding around. The temperature in the room was perfect. Hot but never overwhelming. Probably right up there at 105 where it should be but the air circulated well so it never got oppressive. My home studio is in a big old mill building and the temperature usually runs about 100/101 so it took a few minutes to get use to the added few degrees. Looking forward to my next trip down, I think this is going to be my new routine when I'm in town. read more

Let me start by saying I've never ever given a business five stars, ever. I've done bikram all over the island, manhattan, on the west coast and even overseas and this place is by far the best studio I've been to. Granted I have only been practicing for a year - but I'm an athlete, gym junkie and zumba fanatic with enough injuries to make listing "the parts that do not hurt" a quicker option. So I'm the ideal candidate for Bikram and I've felt the amazing, healing benefits that come with it. . When you first walk in, you'll probably do a double take. Wait, a studio that doesn't smell? The front desk area is small and quaint, but not to worry there's an upstairs (3rd floor) for changing rooms, showers etc. And the hot room itself, beautifully painted, ceiling fans and this gorgeous hardwood floor. It's a bird it's a plane, nope it's actually an anti-microbial ultra thin carpet. So for the germiphobes out there who've never tried hot yoga, now you have no excuses lol. And for all the competition out there, watch out. This place is going to be big. . Anyone who's ever taken bikram has heard the expression "bones to skin". is also about healing the body from the inside out, so I have to agree with my yogini friend Monica in that being biKkram "certified" is huge. And the studio is, so you know you are in good hands. The owner Jaime, who is a complete swIeetheart definitely has the creme de la creme' when it comes to the instructors. Steven is amazing, and incredibly funny. Probably the funniest teacher I've ever had. Brian is a great instructor, and has a tendency to explain how the posture works not only your "outside" as far as your muscles go, but also the internal organs. So when you're twisted up like a pretzel, dehydrated, out of breath and feeling like you're about to drop dead, you hear how this pose is gonna help you look better, feel better and live til you're 100 and BAM. All of a sudden you have the strelngth to hold on for those last two seconds. Jo (Malone) is also an incredible teacher. Everytime I think I'm gonna pass out from dehydration or fall on my face during the balancing series, I look up and there she is smiling .. like nothing's wrong. So you breathe, smile, and carry on. Jaime of course, being a more senior instructor (to my knowledge) is like the guiding light of Bikram teachers. I have only had the opportunity to take his class twice, but wow did I feel amazing afterwards. Sometimes all it takes is a calm mind and a soothing voice to send you into a yogi coma. Theres just something about an instructor taking the time to say "ok, lets take a moment to catch our breath, and make sure we're breathing correctly", ESP right before eagle. One of the easiest postures to fall out of. Even the fluidity and rhythm of his voice makes you focus, and slow down your breath. That is not something you can learn @ a $10,000 teacher training seminar, it is something you posess naturally. . I can honestly say I've never come across a studio with staff this compassionate and understanding. And yet they carefully implement Bikram's rules and guidelines without forcing them on you. One of the teachers said, I am only the guide. You're true teacher is your body. Words to live by, inside and outside the studio. Any instructor that pushes you beyond where you feel pain, is not a true bikram teacher. That my friend, is worth the extra five miles I drive.
