I truly can't say enough about Samudra. A friend and I tried Samudra through a Groupon and we were hooked. You truly feel like family when you are there and when you are virtual! They offer a great variety of classes and the instructors are just amazing! They have pushed me to better my practice and I truly look forward to it. Since moving, I attend virtually and I am so grateful to still have that connection. Virtual classes are posted in the video library and I have taken so many of those as well at my own leisure. This studio is a hidden oasis tucked away at the perimeter of the Garden City town. I was so fortunate to have had stumbled into Samudra via a Groupon deal in December 2017 (which I believe is still being offered). The space itself is welcoming, open, unobstructed with gimmicks other than the yoga itself. The owners of the studio have cultivated a place that attracts people whom are not only approachable but friendly, true cheerleaders of the breath, and gather around a sense of community. There are plenty of styles offered: Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga, Yin Yoga, power-classes, and pre-natal friendly options. Personally, I enjoy Sasha's Flow, Syvia's Mindful Flow and Meditation, Dena's Yin Yoga, and Yahaya's Yoga for Athletic Conditioning. I also deeply appreciate that the studio is consistent and active in hosting events and workshops for their students on specific techniques of the practice/deepening your practice, lifestyle, health, and serving the local neighborhood. read more

I've been to yoga classes and studio all over the US and Europe. Since I started my yoga practice in CA I was a bit spoiled. Making it near impossible to find a studio or class in NY (outside of the city.) Well 7 studios later I finally found my new yoga home. Samudra Yoga offers a wide range of classes and you are definitely going to find something here that fits your needs while continuing to challenge you to deepen your practice. I personally love the meditation classes and combo classes that I would have not taken but have found this mind work has definitely helped me in my yoga practice. I love when I learn something new The class mates are all friendly without being intrusive to your focus, space and practice. Clearly many other yoga studios have become a gym like social club and forgotten some of the base lines of yoga -in my opinion. There is always a well blended group from people that are new, reentering the practice all the way to OMG I wish I could do that. It's taken me a few months of attending classes before I felt comfortable in writing a review. The teachers are amazing and the space is perfect! The studio is quiet, smells nice, clean and has all around good vibes. There is plenty of parking and a safe place to keep your shoes and things. I find the class just the right amount of sweat and relaxing. read more

I think I've found my new yoga home at Samudra Yoga! Lately, I have been inspired to make yoga a habit rather than an occasional sport and on a whim I purchased a Groupon for Samudra. I have been blown away by this little one room studio! Not only is it clean, equipped with all your yoga equipment needs, and smells amazing 24/7, but also the staff is phenomenal! LOVEEEE this yoga studio!! Melissa has been teaching me and my daughter yoga for years (she does kids yoga too) at another yoga studio and we followed her here of course. As soon as you walk in you instantly feel relaxed, like your on vacation . They also sell the coolest things , like essential oils, crystals , sage & jewelry from local vendors!!! Good news: Nice studio, convenient location. Love, love, love the restorative yoga class. Very relaxing. Bad news: The only reason I'm giving a single star is because of awful customer service; no rollover of unused classes and are unreasonable about it. I really was surprised. I expected different based on my experience with other studios. Maybe they need time to figure things out because they're a relatively new studio. In the meantime, stick to a more established studio such as Yoga-Nanda in Garden City, approximately 2.5 miles away. Classes are equally as wonderful, if not better, and they are very friendly and accommodating with regards to rolling over unused classes, even those purchased from social media deals when they offered them. read more

I love this studio! Two weeks of unlimited yoga is an unbelievable deal. I've been to many studies and taken hundreds from f classes and I love this place the beast. I found classes of all levels both challenging and restorative . Teachers are super attentive students are very welcoming. Yogies of all levels practice at this amazing studio. This is definitely the best yoga studio I've ever been to. The atmosphere and overall vibe of this place is so tranquil and positive. Melissa and Sylvia really know what people are looking for in a great yoga class. It also helps that they are two of the nicest people! They really know how to make you feel relaxed and at ease during your entire experience there. Melissa is always helping me reach my full potential during her classes.
