Visited Kiwanis Park this week after beach time at Higbee. My son needed play time to run out some energy because he is still getting used to the beach and it's not his favorite right now, much to my dismay. Kiwanis made my toddler's day! He had a ball on the playstructure, swings, and just running around on the lawn. He loved watching the fountain in the pond, which I was happy to see still running in November. The posted rules say dogs aren't allowed, but various locals were walking their dogs all through this park. The park isn't huge, definitely no walking trail or means of real exercise, except for the basketball court, which is a half-court size. For leisure, picnicking, playground, etc. it is a great space, cuted up with the pond view. Private parking lot is down Leroy's way, the small lane at the entrance.

The most functional parts are the sports fields, picnic area, and playground. Playground looks very new as of Aug 2021. Rubber chips all over for safety, all playstructures are clean, functional, and updated. It had a lot of cool stuff my toddler loved! A kid drum circle!!! Can you imagine if enough kids were there to play all the drums? So fun! There was no one else there at the time of my visit in a weekday afternoon. Had it all to myself. This park has a dog bag and waste disposal station just off the parking lot, so unlike other CMC parks, it appears dogs are permitted at this one.

I was looking for a fun non-beach outdoor activity and discovered this playground only a few minutes away from our rental. When I got there I was so happy to see that a large portion of the playground was shaded. There is a huge playground area, a big gazebo with a book rental box, baby swings, tunnels to crawl through and a sandbox with a ton of toys. There is also a large clean bathroom with a changing table. Overall, it was the perfect park and my daughter had a really good time. I'm grateful that we found it! If you are in Dewey with kiddos and need a break from the beach this worth hitting up.

There is street parking or a lot parking available. I do recall one year due to the Marlin tournament. Parking was difficult and we did park a few blocks away. Overall the walk was not bad and it was well worth it. I recommend bringing chairs or a blanket. If you plan to stay a while. On Sundays, they have a live band, ice cream for purchase, a playground, pond, and lots of open grass for family and friends to enjoy. Everyone's favorite part is the Sunday fireworks show. The show is great! We will continue to add this park to our Sunday fun day while in Ocean City.

So my little ones like to run around the playground and they're the right age for it but sometimes things get broken and it shuts down and my husband he goes out kayaking and then my wife goes out partying at the nightclub so my little kiddos, they like to run wild on the thing and I don't know how this can slide but it's very small and no after they turned one year older they're not gonna like this place mark my words. I love going kayaking at this place and my whole family does but Thing is I don't really like going on the playground so small. I broke my neck here once and the grass is so brown. I don't even know how to believe it. So that's all I have to say after I broke my neck here I came kayaking and I fell into the sewer, but it's OK. I got myself out with the crew rescue teams and then the wildfires happened and then it was a very tragic day, but I'm not gonna talk about it because I don't wanna cry again. Wow - it's not often that you can find totally free kayaking these days! We walked up, filled out a…read morewaiver, got our life jackets, and we were on the water within 5 minutes! We paddled out into the lily pad area that had a clear spot to go through. We saw lots of turtles and a few beaver dams (didn't spot the beavers though). There were sooo many pretty blue dragonflies that liked to land on our boat and sometimes us! We also saw some floating snail shells in the water. Our paddle took about an hour, and they allow you to borrow the kayaks up to 2 hours. After our paddle we checked out the playground for a bit. It was perfect for our 4 year old. It has 4 big kid swings and 2 baby swings and areas for the both the bigger kids and little ones.
