The one star is because the employees are very kind. This place has no right to offer nail services, it is completely unequipped to handle the service. The first go around the technician used a gel that had obviously been altered/stretched. Subsequently he had to remove it because it would not dry/set and had tons of air bubbles. He did the best he could with the products at hand. And finally after an hour my nails were done, however due to the excessive filling needed and the terrible gel used, they came out messy and unsatisfactory, but as the place was closing and my nails had already taken an hour we needed to move on. The chair for the pedicure was broken and lacked the ability to adjust so I had to lay there uncomfortably. After the technician was done with my toes, and some awkward standing around, I was informed that they don't even have a pedicure or manicure drying station. I had to leave wearing paper flip flops! I really wish I had read the reviews before coming or buying the Groupon. I am very disappointed in the audacity of this "business" to charge for services it has no business offering. Even worse is I am set to attend a very important conference tomorrow and I will be unable to have them redone before then. Inexcusable. read more

I WONT ever come here again. I will never ever come back. I bought a Groupon from this salon as I've done years before for a Brazilian. The lady that does the Brazilian was really nice. I have been coming here for years for my hair and waxing. Today I had an appt through Groupon for a wax like I always did in the past and was told when I made the appt a few days ago they are under new management but they would honor the regular Groupon price when I went in. I exchanged my Groupon to Groupon bucks and went in to pay today at the Groupon price. The new owner/manager I believe her name was Monee or something similar proceeded to tell me we aren't honoring the price. I explained the gentleman told me last week you guys would. She said no but our regular price is $50. I can give it to you for $40 that's the lowest. I said I paid $23 dollars will you be willing to take $25 because at this point it is false advertisement. She said NO. I told her with Covid going on everyone is still trying to get back into normal working situations. I was reassured by her employee on the phone that I would get to have it for $23. She still said no and that she would talk to the employee. I said well what about me as the customer and she said I can't do anything but offer you it for $40. I told her so I paid $23 on Groupon and wasn't even refunded that it had to go into Groupon bucks. Now you want an additional $40. Please charge me $25 I'll still be losing $2 dollars she just looked at me and said I can't. I've never had anyone so unprofessional to try and make things right when they are at fault. My wife fixed an appointment for me on 14th November 2019 at 10 am with Juanita. I waited for 30 minutes but unfortunately nobody showed up. after 11 am i went to bilasita again and i talked to a guy who fixed my appointment on next day, 15th at 10 am saying he will definitely come at 10 and do my Pedicure. Guess what? the same thing happened again. No body showed up and i was waiting . I went and met the same guy again after 11:30 and he started saying sorry and all those bullshit. and he asked me to be ready to do the pedicure at the moment which i refused as they already wasted my two days with the appointment. I Highly recommend not to waste your time going Bilasita anymore which my family members already stared to follow. My experience was not at all what I expected for a supposedly high end salon. I had to wait 5 weeks to get an appointment at for a mani/pedi. When I showed up I also got the excuse their nail tech quit and I had to wait another week and 3 days to get in and left with the worst nails I have ever had. **Toes were perfect. I was upsold to gel nails, which I had never had before. I spoke with the tech and I said more than one time that I didn't want the gel on my fingernails if it was something that could damage them or had to be removed because I had stopped doing fake nails 5 years ago and still struggling to get my nails back to normal. (If you don't know [like me] you do have to have gel nails removed!) she did this procedure to my nails anyway. Now honestly it could have been the nail polish but if my clients nails looked this bad I would have apologized and fixed it. I could have handled "Ma'am I am not happy with this polish and the results so far; would you mind terribly picking another color?" It would not have been an issue. The nail tech also explained she does hair but they don't have a regular nail person so she was helping out but that she hates to do pedicures! I guess that would explain why she didn't rub my legs and feet down really good or my arms and hands for that matter. Just rubbed on me lightly with lotion and the salt stuff on my legs. I also think this salon might be having issues with the buildings plumbing because it stank. It smelled like poop! (Worse than an old fashion perm.) Both times I came in it was smelly. I am not impressed and even tho I had paid before with Groupon I tipped and left with in 4 days I had managed to peel off the gel from my fingernails and they were damaged all over again. My friends told me to go back the next two days but I didn't have the time and it took a month to see a nail tech so I just moved on but thought I'd better share this experience. Came in for the first time to get a haircut yesterday. I arrived a few minutes early for my appointment. After waiting about 10 minutes, I was invited over to a hair station. I was soon informed that the salon's manager had left semi-unexpectedly the previous day, leaving the salon a disorganized, logistical mess. My hairdresser was simultaneously trying to wash and cut my hair while working as the receptionist/stand-in manager. Other employees were around, but didnt seem to be working together to sort these scheduling issues out. I enjoyed the chit-chat, but probably as a result of all the multi-tasking, my cut resulted in unattended chunks of hair in the front, and lopsided bangs, that I noticed back home. I have a ton of really long hair, so the fact that my appointment lasted 30 minutes speaks to the lack of attention to detail. I mentioned at the salon that I get nervous during haircuts because they never turn out right, and this experience reaffirmed my phobia. Is my hair cursed!? I am glad I got to use the discount for first-time customers, (making my total $20) because I would have been upset if I had paid more. read more

I booked a nail appointment over 2 weeks ago and I have been called back 3 × to reschedule. Saying that their nail Tech quit and they are trying to train their current hair technicians to do nails?! My appointment has been pushed out over one month. I asked if I could get a different service for the same price in compensation they refused, absolutely NO Customer Service! I had NO IDEA this was q "Toni&Guy" salon or I never would have booked and pre-paid! (They refuse to refund me) Toni&Guy are good in different cities, but last year a simple cut and color turned into 4 visits and my hair falling out. They are terrible. Aidan is a wonderfully sweet and gentle person, and I think that he will be a great stylist with time. I am hoping to convey my frustration at being treated like a student hair model instead of like a paying client. I understand and appreciate the importance of new stylists gaining experience. However, It was incredibly unprofessional to not communicate that he was new and did not have the skill set to create the dramatic color that I was requesting. As a new client, I was very clear about what I was looking for when booking my appointment, clear communication should have been reciprocated. Had I known, I would have cancelled my appointment and rescheduled with a more experienced stylist. First off, I asked for a ombré with dark merlot-like burgundy fading into plum. I requested that we keep my length long while giving me side seeping bangs with some layering/framing in the front. The result achieved looks more like 20 washes in with a box color, and even with washing my hair with cold water, most of the color washed out in the first shampooing. With the color I was asking for, I was anticipating that it would take a few hours to achieve, but I would never have expected that it would 5 hours. At the 90minute mark, he was only 1/2 way thru foiling my hair. This is when he told my friend and I that it would take 2 more hours. 2 hours later, he needed 90 more minutes. I sat down at 12:30pm and left at 5:45pm. The initial color used was blue-ish violet, and was not fully applied to my hair. As he realized that he didn't have enough color, he asked the other stylist, who offered him some of his. As they were talking he almost used Manic Panic Violet Velvet to continue, when I asked if he needed to see the photo again. After showing him the photo he used Manic Panic Red Wine. Why would I choose an Aveda salon only to have Manic Panic used on my hair. He did not go all the way to the base of the skull with either color, so I can't put my hair up in a pony tail without showcasing the un-dyed brown of my nautral hair color. The second color was not applied to my temples, so while everything looks wine, my temples are purple... yet you can still see me grey hair. Not enough color was applied to my hairline, leaving all of the grey hair that needed covering. The color was not applied evenly throughout my head, so while the highlights on my right side are pink/magenta/purple, my left side is pale pink/orange/yellow. And he did not clean up any color left on my face, so I had to go the rest of the evening with a purple streaks on my temple. When we finally got around to cutting my hair, the initial bangs he cut were about 2 inches shorter than my hair. I reiterated that I wanted them near my eyebrows. He cut off another inch, I said shorter. We repeated this several times. At one point, I had to point out that I could see the line of pink on the left side as it left a 1 inch pink square on tip of the darker section of hair. For the 8th time, he cut a little more off. Furious and frustrated that I was not being heard, I finally gave up and said that it was good enough length. No additional framing was added. And now I'm left with bangs that are shorter on the left than the right, at chin length that should have been at the eyebrows, and no face-framing layers. Aidan offered for me to come back so that he can correct the color and he then asked when I wanted to come back in. I would have preferred my money back. This was my first Aveda mani/pedi and I'll start off by saying my expectations were high because all other Aveda services I've had in the past were fabulous! I bought a Groupon for a gel mani/pedi and decided to treat myself to a last minute pampering session a couple of weeks before my baby is scheduled to arrive. When I walked in about 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment time, the place was empty. Only my nail tech and the man at the desk. The pedicure was overall unimpressive. It was probably the fastest pedicure I've ever had and the tech did have to redo on of my toes twice due to a massive glob of gel that had spilled over onto my skin and cured that way. As I was sitting there other employees trickled in and since they did not seem to have any clients right away they spent their time goofing around, using the massage chairs and chatting, loudly. I was a bit turned off by the overall unprofessional appearance and behavior of the staff. My pedicure does look okay after the redo but I'm still pretty disappointed in the manicure. Although my tech was very nice and friendly, she lacked confidence in her technique and even unsure of the proper way to use her tools. The shaping was off and he tips of my nails are practically bare and unbearably thin. Overall, I would say this was a sub-par experience that I would've never paid full price for and I honestly expect much higher quality from the cheaper salons. I've enjoyed the services I've had (Brazilian wax, haircut) when I've been in there, but their phone situation is obnoxious. Neither the phone number on their website or on Yelp/Google actually gets you through to a person. It's either a busy tone or "the subscriber cannot accept calls at this time". You can't book appointments online because their website has said "coming soon!" for a year. What good is a salon where you can't make appointments? I've been trying to finish out a 3 visit Groupon since October and can't get through to anyone. If the phone does ring, rarely, you get sent to a voicemail and no one calls you back. If I could do a negative a Star rating I would. My friend and I went to the mall location and it was the WORST mani and pedi we have both ever had. The place is filthy. My pedi took 15 minutes and was painful. She rushed every part of it and I now have to pay to get it redone. The man sitting in the front rushed the girls and was super rude. There was so much that happened in the 45 minutes we were there 1. A lady that works here told a customer that she didn't state she wanted acrylic nails and that's not what she asked for 2. The man who runs this facility told the manicurist working on my friends nails that she had 10 minutes to be done and not to make it more right after she started 3. Both manicurist cut our fingers 4. If I could give this place zero stars right now I would. I have gone to this place on and off for years, and I knew I shouldnt have gone back because while James is good at color the last 2 times he cut my hair he left it uneven. However, this last trip was the worst and I will NEVER go back. I tried to get the name of the girl who butchered my hair color and when I called in to talk to the manager Cameron he gave me some crazy story about how their private contractor wont allow them to give out their hair dressers names. She is a younger, heavy set girl with short shoulder length hair that is very brassy, glasses, and a gold nose hoop. Anyhow, I told this girl that I wanted natural looking highlights, not stripey 90s highlights, and wanted my hair toned so as to eliminate brassiness and for it to look ashier. Since I was late to the appointment (which I should have just canceled because now I'm going to have to go drop around 100 dollars to fix this hot mess), this girl wasnt able to style my hair so I had her braid. I could tell when she took the towel off that I hated it, but unfortunately I didnt say anything then because I was afraid of hurting her feelings. Unfortunately, due to extenuating cuircumstances I had to return to Tucson before I could get my hair fixed which is really upsetting because now I have to drop more money. But Cameron needs to tell his customers the truth and not lie about not being able to give his hair dressers' names out, because I'm sure if I wanted her name so that I could make another appointment he would have given it to me. Shame Cameron. And shame on this girl who butchered my hair...i didn't realize how much someone could screw up color until this girl did my hair. Great haircut, and I bet the color will look nice after a couple washes. But I'm really disappointed that when I reached the counter at the end to give a nice tip, there was an extra $40 in hidden fees. James said that he used 'extra products', but did not disclose at any point whether I wanted any products, or what exactly he was adding to my tab, or what the actual products were. So now I have a magical bill that can't be explained, I'm guessing the money was just to offset that I bought a Groupon for this service, and they just want to pocket extra cash. I received lowlights with foils (instead of highlights) everyone said that was no issue, (that would be a great time to let me know if they wanted to increase my pricing). I am new to the area. Came in for highlights. Got an ear full about how bad the entire staff is . Pulled my ends all the way through with bleach. Proceeded to dry my hair with no styling products or protectant at all. Used a 5 dollar dryer, no sectioning just pulling the brush through. Left with same roots I came in with and over processed ends that are breaking off. I walked in with healthy hair. Don't go here. There is nothing aveda concept about this salon. read more

I tried out this little salon in the Bricklight neighborhood today and I was not disappointed. I actually spotted it while doing some work at Winning coffee shop a few days ago, and decided that I'd give it a try. I was in desperate need of a haircut, and after being disappointed by many "top rated" salons here in Albuquerque, I figured I had nothing to lose (but a few dry inches of hair of course). So I went in and scheduled an appointment for a few days later. The receptionist was really friendly and welcoming and helped me book a time that best fit my schedule. Now for the service. I came in and the place was pretty empty (which surprised me because it's in such a busy spot) but they're also pretty new, so that seemed about right. The space is so open, clean, and filled with natural light due to the floor to ceiling windows surrounding the salon, so it's just a really pretty space. I was promptly (and politely) greeted and offered a cool beverage, which I took them up on because it was sahara-desert-hot outside, and I waited only a few minutes before I was greeted by my stylist. Originally, I was supposed to see someone else, but the owner (I think) offered up another open stylist so I wouldn't have to wait (my original stylist hadn't arrived quite yet). I thought that was really considerate, although being in no rush, I also wouldn't have been upset having to wait a few minutes. I appreciated that they wanted to make sure I was taken care of, so that was great. My stylist was Rhesa and she was just wonderful. She was incredibly sweet and friendly, and made me feel right at home. I also liked how she really tried to dig deep and understand EXACTLY what it is I wanted from my haircut. I showed her a picture (mostly because I don't know any hair stylist lingo and don't know how to accurately describe what I want) and she explained the style and what we'd need to do to achieve it. However, rather than just use stylist lingo, she explained it in layman's terms (which I appreciated). She did an amazing job with my hair and made sure to involve me in the process (by showing me what she was doing, asking if I liked it, wanted more layers, etc) just to make sure I was completely satisfied. She also made sure to tell me all about the salon as a whole. She told me all of the specials, all about the products, and special things they do (like free blow out Friday's) to try and keep me informed and let me know I'm welcome back. I really loved this place and think more people should give it a shot! Oh and I got 20% off because of the opening special, which was an amazing deal. My only con, would be that the desk girls weren't as attentive as they could have been when it came time for me to check out. I mean, to be fair I was the only one there for almost two hours, but when I was done I was awkwardly standing at the counter while my stylist had to interrupt their conversation to get someone to check me out. Again, this is minor as I'm sure it's more to do with the salon just being a bit empty, and less to do with them not caring, because I received nothing but great service while there. My cousin and I went in, in hopes that we would have time to relax. Instead, we came out of there highly disappointed and upset. We had used the groupon for the gel manicure and pedicure for two. When they sat us down to receive our manicure the girl who did my nails did not even do the full service, she simply filed and painted my nails. I had to remind her about the hand lotion. My cousin, however, did not even want to finish her manicure, or get the pedicure for that matter, because the guy who was in charge of her manicure filed her nails to the point where she no longer had nail exposure above the skin of the tips. She told the guy she didn't want to apply anything on them anymore because they were burning. I did get my pedicure but it was rushed and the process, once again, was not as it should have been. My cousin called to get a refund on her Groupon but was only able to get credit for any future Groupon purchases. When I was leaving the lady in charge asked if my cousin could come in to pay for the prep of her nails. As if they had done anything at all! I explained to them she did not even get through with her manicure and that they had hurt her nails so it was fair for her to pay for anything. My cousin came in and explained calmly that she didn't think she had to pay for them damaging her nails, and after a few moments of going back and forth they didn't make her pay. I just received the WORST mani-pedi of my life. Had to come home and redo not only to polish but refine them. It was an awful experience.

I purchased a groupon for One Gel Manicure and a Classic Pedicure with two of my bridesmaids for my wedding, and made three appointments. Upon arrival, I discovered that they had not scheduled me for a gel manicure, I was told that there wasn't enough time for me to get what I needed. This was the day before my wedding. It took 1 hour and 45 minutes to do my pedicure, and it looked like my 4 year old cousin painted my toes. The technician seemed rushed and inexperienced. I then received a rushed gel manicure, which also ended up looking like it was performed by a toddler. I ended up being late for my rehearsal dinner, and my two bridesmaids did not receive any treatments. I ended up having to remove the manicure and pedicure at home and got married with plain, undone nails. Hire more staff or don't schedule appointments for certain treatments until you can perform them correctly. read more

I just got the most amazing dye/haircut and threaded eyebrows! I came in with faded green hair and they helped me choose the right shade of red to go on top. I brought in my own blue dye because I wanted some in the bangs but it turns out that they carry permanent unnatural colors! This is something that no salon I've ever been to does. The service was extremely friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming. Also, while I was waiting for the dye to set in, I mentioned I wanted to schedule an appointment for eyebrows. They actually just called a girl over who recommended eyebrow threading and did it on the spot, I hadn't tried it before, but it was AMAZING. I highly recommend it, and they said it lasts way longer than just having them waxed. They blow dried my hair for no extra charge and voila! My hair looks gorgeous and I feel so confident now in my look! The cherry on the cake was that it was half the price I spent at other salons for a pretty complex look! Thank you Bilasita! About two weeks ago I was looking for a place near my home to get my eyebrows threaded. I usually go to the Coronado mall location, and recently found out about this new location. I called a few hours prior to ask about an appointment and they scheduled me in right away. It was about 6:15pm when I arrived (slightly late), but as soon as I came in I was greeted by the staff and offered a complimentary drink. The girl who did my eyebrows , Roma was very nice and called me by my first name. Having gotten my eyebrows threaded for 5 years, I was very impressed by Roma. I can tell she has a lot of experience doing eyebrows, because she was fast and very professional. I am an honest person and I want to be sure to preface this review with the fact that I came to the salon in December 2016 and had a stylist named Rhisa (sp?) and left VERY satisfied with my cut and color. Well this time around, she is out on FMLA and so I was told when calling that someone named Jordan would specifically be a great alternative to her style and sensibility. Yesterday I received a reminder call that my appointment was with Jordan at 1:30pm. Well, I walked in for my appointment today and came upon the backs of employees that were blocking the reception desk just chit chatting (not a huge problem but poor customer service and considering the rest, it is part of the equation). So, after waiting for them to dissipate, I checked in, letting them know I was there for a 1:30 with Jordan... and that I was parked in 2 hour parking and so would need to move my car at that point. The receptionist said: "oh don't worry about it..." Me: "oh, they don't ticket?" R:"they do but they are lenient with our guests" Me: "how do they know who's in here?" R: smirk ...are they paying my ticket if I get one? Weird. Then I have a seat and realize that I'm being suffocated by the unmistakable smell of college dorm rooms---nag champa... What happened to an Aveda Salon using Aveda products? Candles? Etc. I'm not sure if they were trying to cover up something (a water issue or something?) but I thought Aveda used Aveda. So I sit there on the waiting area bench for a few more minutes listening to the employees chat and 5 minutes after my appointment was to have started, the same guy that checked me in came over (Tony?) and said he'd get me started... I thought that meant get me settled in, a gown, something. I realized that maybe wasn't what was going on... I asked him about Jordan. He said, "oh, Jordan doesn't work on Wednesdays...". This is the SAME guy I checked in with for my "1:30 with Jordan" about 10 minutes prior. He hadn't bothered to discuss that with me then? I offered to play the confirmation voicemail for him and he said no, you can just reschedule. The entire experience up to that point was off putting, so letting this guy touch my hair wasn't going to happen. Bottom line, I waited a few weeks and took time off work to get this appointment for nothing. I haven't ever left a bad review before so please understand the gravity of my experience. No indication that the hair stylist wouldn't be there. No signs out front, stood outside waiting for them to open(they were late opening), only to be told I couldn't get a hair cut. If you're not a full time hair salon then please post that somewhere. I get maybe one day off a week and I wasted time waiting here. Crap. read more

Saw America previously and she was attentive and friendly. Last visit she took over 25 pauses attending to her text messages while fixing my hair. Also was pulling my hair to the point of pain. Sorry America, I cannot go on this journey with you. read more

Showed them the text confirmation and apparently if you schedule online with a Groupon, they receive no notification of that appointment being made. They really want to be an upscale salon, but it feels more like stepping into a sorority or fraternity. The staff are very close knit and joke around a lot, but that means they're not interacting with their clients. There were several times during my highlight that my stylist just stopped so he could talk to another stylist. I don't mind when he's also talking to me or concerned about my experience...my hair ended up fine but I don't think they'd notice if I came back. read more

Worst experience we've had in a salon, especially an AVEDA salon, and all three of us received bad to awful manicures and pedicures from different technicians. The salon was unclean with hair throughout the floors and under the welcome desk, unclean pedicure tubs with minimal wipe downs between customers, technicians sharing already unsterilized supplies without cleaning between use, and dirty beverage station near the back. The services were inconsistent between technicians with us receiving services lacking in different ways: no callus removal, no scrub, no lotion, no massage, rushed job, job needing to be redone. Overall these "beauty school graduates" seemed to not know what they were doing and proceeded to perform independently of management. One of us was left waiting for 20 minutes between services and assigned a technician who just walked in the door for a rushed, incomplete job. Mangement was poor as staff was noticed to be making decisions inconsistent with the group and wandering around at will. Supplies had run out without any backups made available and technicians had to go to other stations multiple times to share supplies. The beverage station was not only dirty but appeared to be old tea, as dark as coffee, indicating a lack of switching out the tea leaves and/or steeping for way too long. During our time we noticed other customers were unhappy with their services (hair cut/color, henna tattoo, nail service, etc.) We noticed one customer receiving a dramatic discount on their hair service and rightfully so with the job that was done. We noticed many, many unhappy faces throughout the salon. Overall, we were looking for a relaxing experience and we did not receive that. We were anxious, confused, concerned, and upset over our experience. Be very careful attending this salon - perhaps only receive services by technicians who have demonstrated skill and capability with others. read more

I can't say enough about how wonderful these folks are. Every stylist has done an excellent job. I got an oil slick on my hair by Elias, my daughter got a beautiful pigmented red. Another daughter got a color correction to remove her blue dye job. Every visit has been such a pleasure. The atmosphere is pleasant and the skill is wonderful. I just won't trust my hair anywhere else. read more

After a super bad experience at another salon I have been extremely skiddish about trusting hair stylists. America toned, conditioned, cut and styled my hair today and I couldn't be happier. She was easy to talk to and took the time to listen to my concerns about my hair and was very knowledgeable. I've finally found my go to girl for my hair. :) read more

Ok yes the salon looks great. But these women don't know how to cut men's nails. First I got a manicure and was asked if I wanted them cut I said yes. She cut one nail then filed the rest and turned out uneven and too long. I can still see where the nail has overgrown from the skin. Then I got a pedicure and she said they can't cut them short unless my skin will bleed so in the 27 years I've been living and getting my nails cut short I haven't had a problem. There's still dirt and whatever else is underneath my big toe and she just left it and continued to filed my nails instead of cutting them. Oh and since when do they not lotion and rub your feet when you get a pedicure this place didn't do that at all. read more
