When it needed service, the company said it no longer goes into Phila. I am having difficulty getting service on it (I have no idea why companies don't service Aprilaire humidifiers, but so be it.) So, Dwyer--who installed the humidifier--will not service its own item, so I'm in a fix to have it repaired, let alone having a company that does not stand by its product. Even if the company has decided it no longer wants to go into Phila., it should at the very least service its own work.

Short version: tried to change my thermostat myself, didn't know what I was doing. called Al, who fixed the issue quickly and professionally. happy to recommend him, will use him in the future. Full version: I tried to change out my old mercury thermostat to a newer digital one that my brother in law had offered me after he had had his whole system replaced. After several videos and guides, and several hours messing with wires I got the thermostat hooked up, however it wouldn't seem to kick anything on. Discouraged I none the less called it a night and resolved to call someone for help the next day. After a chilly morning I googled local heating repair and found Al's number, I called, left him a message, and was surprised to have Al himself call me back within half an hour. He agreed to stop by after completing another job he was on, and after a few hours he rang up to let me know he was on the way. He introduced himself, took a look at the thermostat, and told me what the problem was, I needed a two heat stage thermostat, and my brother in law had given me a single heat stage thermostat. I thanked him, and he told me to call again if I had any trouble installing. He didn't charge me for this first visit, as it had only taken him a few minutes of his time. I purchased a new thermostat, approved for heat pump with two stages of heating, and followed the installation guide, only to find out that the new unit wasn't even getting power. I tried every trouble shooting guide I could find, and nothing worked. Frustrated and tired, I called Al again, and left another message. He called back later that night and agreed to come back in the morning to look it over. He arrived promptly, rewired the thermostat, discovered that I had blown a fuse that I didn't know existed, showed me what he was doing the whole way through, got the system up and running, and stuck around to make sure each stage of the system was working properly. His pricing seemed fair, he was honest and straightforward, and he came out twice in two days on extremely short notice. I will be calling Al's with any problems in the future, and happily recommend him. -Brian Fox

His work is junk & his attitude is even worse. I saw other reviews where he disappears after you call him out on his poor work. He blocked me when I told him another company checked his work & it was all wrong. Do not use this fraud unless you want to end up paying to have everything redone because Al did such a bad job. He's going to end up killing somebody ...my furnace was hooked up wrong where carbon monoxide would have came back into my house.

Typically their work is quite good but they showed up to replace loose hot & cold water knobs in my…read morebathroom and broke the chain to the tub/shower drain when they removed the faceplate during the job. That's all well and good, it probably happens all the time, but they left the job without telling us it happened! So for over a week my tub would not hold water as there was no drain stoppage happening. Had to call them again. They came back, admitted it was their fault but still made us pay to replace it a couple days later. To this day it still won't stop draining. Even after they supposedly fixed it and made us pay. I have to use a rubber stopper disc. Didn't want to call them again and pay even more money. So I guess I just have a broken bathtub drain until I call a different company. The drain worked 100% fine before they did their original work. Had things been handled differently I would feel that the issue was resolved fairly. However, I believe that they should've paid the small replacement fee themselves considering it was their fault and they inconvenienced me by not reporting the broken drain during the original job. I also feel they could've done a better job of fixing it because it's still not the way it was before they originally broke it. I cannot recommend them based on these issues.
