I grew up in Seward park, so this has always been my home course. It has changed quite a bit since then, but the expansion efforts have really made it accessible for more people. Please please please stop making the course easier. Flattening and removing bunkers, scalping the rough, keeping the greens slow, all make it easier for beginners, but take away the character of the course and enjoyment of the game of GOLF for the majority of people. read more

A cool course to grab a drink, hit the driving range, practice some putting and chipping. As a beginner I felt like this was the place to be as a golfer. Regardless of your skill or experience. Hello, Really disappointing experience at Jefferson golf course. What a greedy place. I tried to play a round of golf at 6:30 PM with my daughter riding in the cart next to me, not even playing, and they tried to charge me $77.20 / additional $20 because my 8-year-old daughter would just be sitting with me in the cart. When we went to the first tee, there were two foursomes waiting. It looked like everyone had the exact same tee time. That is the beauty of a public golf course. read more

This review is only for the bar as that is only part of the golf course I enjoy going to. They have a few beers on tap and list the ABV for each beer. Beer comes in plastic cups and it has not been bust during the times I have been at the bar. They have a course, a driving range, a putting and chipping area. We frequent the range at Jefferson Park for practice and we've taken a few lessons this summer. It's been a pleasant place to hit golf balls with an awesome view and the instructors are great to work with. What prompts this five star review was their handling of a lesson cancellation tonight. We were early and learned our instructor had an emergency and couldn't make it. They immediately offered us a free jumbo bucket and two bays of free Tracer. They also told us to come back for more balls if needed. They were so kind and professional and we still got in a good practice session for free. It's all in how you recover! read more

Beautiful golf course! Fairways are kind of narrow but the grass was very well kept throughout. The views are great too! There is a decent amount of air traffic but it's fun to see the planes so close. Service was great in the pro shop! read more

Shitty course, good view but very public with very little golf etiquette. Slow pace of play and the sprinklers went off before sun went down as there way to kick people out. Also parking was bad and had very weird rules like no carts after 5 pm. Don't recommend. read more

Never again Booked a time late in the evening (6:30pm) to play some casual golf with my girlfriend who is new to the game and who I wanted to show the field for the first time (she's been practicing on the range for a couple months and I thought it would be nice to get her some field practice). Upon check in, we noticed that we've been grouped with another pair. We felt a little uncomfortable playing with others because we were worried about keeping pace with our skill level. So, we asked the front desk if we could rebook a tee time where we will be guaranteed a twosome. They kindly rebooked us for a later time (6:52pm) and told us that they will let us know if somebody does end up grouping with us again. Approaching the tee time, we didn't hear back so we walked up to the first hole. This is where the conflict started. We were behind a solo player who was behind a full group. While waiting, the course ranger pulls up with a random player next to him telling us that this individual will be grouped with us. I told the ranger that there is a solo player ahead of us, so they can be grouped as a twosome. He replied "she requested to be alone". Before I could even respond, he immediately points out that we only had one bag for the pair of us. We weren't aware that every person playing had to have their own bag - it's been a while since I played on the field as well. My girlfriend usually only practices driver, 7 iron, and putting, so I had only put those clubs of hers in my own bag. He goes on to say "don't you guys know the rules? Nobody shares bags anymore" as if it were common sense. At this point, my girlfriend who was already nervous playing on the field got really shook and started to get teary eyed. I kept trying to explain our situation but he would continuously cut me off saying that those are the "rules". He further goes on to 'rub it on us' by saying "if you like golf so much, why don't you just get a bag, it's only $5 dollars at goodwill". He then condescendingly offers a solution by having someone bring rental clubs for my girlfriend and saying that he will "let this slide" this one time. Obviously we were both offended at this point and my girlfriend no longer wanted to play this round. So I took a deep breath and told him I would just play by myself and that my girlfriend will spectate. But, guess what, he had a problem with that too. Apparently he "knows" that we will cheat and that she will scoop in a chip or two while I play with the other person. He said that he would have to follow and keep an eye on us to make sure she wouldn't play. My girlfriends starts to burst in tears feeling accused of being a cheater and getting pointed out for being inexperienced in the sport (same goes for me too). I tried one more time to have a civil conversation by stating that we also "requested to play alone" as the solo player ahead of us did. But apparently he only takes personal requests and not requests made to the front desk. After a moment of silence, he pretends to 'give up' and has a solo player behind us group with the stranger and told us to play after. Looking over my shoulder, my girlfriend is bawling and my heart is pounding out of anger. I looked at my girlfriend and told her "let's just get out of here". She nodded and we proceeded to head out telling the group behind us that they can take our spot. The course ranger, watching us walk away, added a nice comment "make sure you get your refunds~". My girlfriend is now traumatized and doesn't want to play golf ever again. I just don't understand why all of this had to happen. If you have to group, why is okay to group to a twosome and not to a solo when both requested to play alone? If he knows that we were both relatively inexperienced in the sport, why couldn't he have been more gentle and perhaps offer us to wait just a bit longer to play more pressure free. We are aware of the pace of play etiquette and was willing to pick up balls and drop it closer if it felt like we were falling behind. I understand he was just trying to do his job regarding the 1 bag per player rule, but there's no need to start accusing people of being "cheaters"; we did pay green fee for two people. In the end, we weren't even upset about not playing but rather the insults and shade thrown at us by this one man. Sucks that a highly anticipated evening had to be ruined like that. This was a horrible experience for the both of us and we will never return to this golf course as long as that ranger is there. read more

Extreme disappointment! From the moment we entered to play our round we felt disrespected and harassed. It was Mothers Day and my sons birthday also my first playing a round of golf. Our day was ruined by Goose and his Marshall colleague who were both intentionally harassing us. Very disappointed with the customer service of the man named Khalid in the pro shop! I was one of the first people at the course around 6:30am and proceed to buy a bucket of balls to hit before my tee time. I used my gift card to purchase the balls and asked what my balance was after the purchase. He snaps back and tells me that I asked for the balance too quickly as the receipt hadn't been printed out yet. I later try to pay for my tee time and he denies me service and yells at me to get out of his pro shop because I was apparently "staring" at him and was acting "entitled". This man was obviously extremely grumpy from the start and should not be able to work with costumers with such rude intentions. Never again will I be bringing my business to Jefferson Golf Course, awful experience. read more

Nice course to come golf on and they have the best driving range in the Seattle area. I've played here a handful of times and always have a good time with it. There's a lot of links so it's tough to lose a ball (though I manage to lose plenty) and there is a nice mix of 3's, 4's and 5's spread throughout. read more

Have played this course multiple times because it is near my house and is normally a great course to play. Today (9/05/23) me and my buddies had a tee time at 7AM. The guy in the pro shop told us we could play the back 9 twice because the front 9 greens were torn up. We got through the front 9 once and went to play it again and the grounds crew was tearing up all the back 9 greens. The guy in the pro shop said it was on the website that they were tearing up the greens and there was no info about them tearing up the greens. Was a very disappointing day because we were all excited to play a full 18. read more

I never thought I would get into golfing, but I somehow did. I've only been on the driving range part of Jefferson Golf Club which is just right next to Jefferson community center in Beacon Hill, just find the giant net and you'll find the driving range. On weekdays after 8pm, it's buy 1 get 1 bucket of balls for free and that applies to any size. It's a great way to meet up and socialize before going out for late happy hour because you get a work out right before. There's 2 floors on this driving range with a putt-putt section right in front, there's a great view of Seattle here. Nice size putting green in the front and Full bar with about 6 craft beers on tap and rotation. Prices are reasonable for a bucket of balls and about $12 for 2 8 oz beers. Staff is nice. Really pleasant experience for my first round of golf since moving to Seattle. The staff was very friendly and informed me of some great deals on apparel in the pro shop that I made sure to take advantage of. This review is only for the Beacon Grill & BBQ. As a first timer I was expecting good things. A nice lady took my order I told her if I could have it as to go. I waited for my food 10 minutes later I see workers giving other customers their to go order to the table. 20 minutes later I was still waiting, 30 minutes, 40 minutes. I was still waiting. At this point I got up and asked if my food was ready. Well what do you know my food was in a basket on the counter where the chef would put food that are ready. I got my food but I had boxed it up myself because I wanted it as to go. Yup, I don't wanna experience that again. With due respect, personally would not come back again. We came here for a round of golf and had tons of fun. After this we went to the clubhouse. The food looked so good when it came out.

Do not go here for their par 3 course. I've been in the past and they've provided a golf ball with the fee to play. It was fun so we came back. Just came in with 5 adults and was told we would have to pay $38 for 12 golf balls on top of the $52 we were paying to play. I have no problem paying $1-$2 per ball but as people who don't typically golf we certainly didn't need $38 worth of golf balls. (For the record you can buy 36 golf balls for $12 at target) On our way to the greenlake pitch and putt where we don't have to deal with pretentious unhelpful staff. read more

Love the trails for walking here! I could never get tired of the scenery you get from the highest point. I can see my house from there! :) They really did an amazing job with this park. The slides, ziplining and swings are perfect for the kiddos. I really wish that they would remodel the Golf Club House....food in there is mediocre at best. And it feels dirty inside. read more

Hole #11 is an absolute joke now for no reason other than lazy maintenance people not keeping up with their job duties. Terrible management living along the corse is quite unpleasant considering every time you try to call management no human is available and messaging is full ( wonder why)we have had multiple windows broken in our home and cars there only response was to suggest we go find the person we think did it!!!??? The driving range is a little pricey, but if you go during the last 2 hours M-F you get double balls. During summer, this is amazing. Grab a beer/drink at the bar, get double balls, head out with your friends and hit some balls towards downtown Seattle. During the day you get planes flying overhead and on the weekends during the summer they can be cool WW2 planes. When it's chilly, the stalls have overhead heating which does a decent job of keeping you warm. The 9 hole is cheap, but frustrating because it is the same course as the "foot golf" which is basically just kids kicking around soccer balls. This doesn't exactly feel safe and makes you nervous to hit. It's also confusing sometimes on where the next hole is. The greens aren't great, but what do you expect for 9$? The 18 is a little pricey for what it is, but it's still fun and fairly well kept (especially compared to the 9 hole). Overall, one of my favorite places in Seattle. read more

Get yo' big bucket o' balls here! I'm not a very good golfer. I have a terrible short game, reminiscent of Happy Gilmore. But I will tell you that when I need to relax, driving a ball at mach 3 is a good way to chill. For about $10, I get a giant bucket of balls and go to the second level and send balls (to the moon, Alice!) And for me, the best time to come is twilight. Sometimes it's busy on warm evenings, but oftentimes, you have plenty of elbow room and in between swings, you can listen to the calming thwack of other drivers out there with you. It's even calming when it's raining out, since you get to stand under cover. Jefferson Park; you're all a person needs! read more

Great spot for golfing in the Seattle sun! I've only hit up the driving range so far but I spotted a short nine, a full 18 hole course and even a lawn bowling area. Prices for buckets of balls at the range were super cheap and lots of lanes were open on a sunny Sunday evening. No wait to play at all. It's been a few years since I'd been to a range so I've got a lot of practice ahead of me. I'll definitely come back here to get my swing back in shape. Average municipal inner-city golf course. Not especially challenging by any means, fairly flat (easily walkable), no real obstacles (a few sand traps here and there). Good course for beginners, seasonal golfers and kids. If you're a decent golfer looking for a somewhat challenging course within the city, try West Seattle instead. It's easy to get to, and you don't have to travel much to find it. It's nice for a quick afternoon of 9/18 holes if you just simply have the itch to play golf, but don't want to pay big bucks for some holes. They do have a driving range, putting green, as well as an additional executive 9-hole, par-three course. Fair price on accessories such as balls, gloves. I paid about $1.50 less for a sleeve of balls than I would have at a lot of other locations. Originial home course of tour golfer Fred Couples, which is pretty cool. read more

Recent changes have made this a "never again" course for me. I played it this spring and they had changed the Par-4 11th into a short Par-3, and had shortened the Par-3 12th into a pitch-and-put 90-yard hole. The result is that the back 9 has FOUR Par-3s (including the first 3 holes). Maybe this was done to speed up play, or to cut down on maintenance costs - who knows? But the back 9 doesn't seem like real golf anymore and I've checked this course off of my list. read more

This place is ok, but the management doesn't really seem care much about the place. No water, ball cleaners are dry, no starter and the tee time scheduling is ridiculous. When you come up to the 3rd hole and there are already 3 groups waiting something is off. I play all the other municipal courses in Seattle and this is by far ranks the lowest. I'm sure the new faculties will be run down with poor maintenance within a couple years. Too bad, it could be a great place. Actually I bet you could just walk on and play.... First time playing here since the hatchet job of two holes .. I guess transplants complained and course caved and now you have 3 par 3's in a row !!! And one par 3 is a joke of a hole ... but other than that , it was a decent round until we went in after for food and drinks . We sat at a table for 10 minutes while the server was busy talking to other people at the bar about her plans after work , mind you now ... just talking , elbows on the bar and all ... not noticing we were waiting for menus . I'm going to assume it was the course manager who saw us and whispered to " you have customers " she finally looked over at us and cane over with attitude , if we were not hungry and thirsty , we would have left and went elsewhere . This use to be a fun track , now it's meh ... but it's still one of only two places in The city of Seattle to play , that's too bad . read more

I had a great time here on a Thursday morning. Coming from the draught ridden Bay Area, it was refreshing to see green fairways, green trees. The course has some challenging holes, with hills and narrow fairways. Some greens had a cliff and if one shoots it past it (like i did on the 10th) you're in a it of trouble . Friendly staff!
