Each pool of the North Division of the Seattle Summer Swim League spurred different conversation topics when we traveled to them for swim meets when I competed on the youth team for Innis Arden (1999 to 2010). Interestingly, with Sand Point Country Club the conversation revolved around pool set-up, concessions, and human interactions. As I aged into my teenage years, I started to pick up on this more. Windows served as the barrier between the pool deck and a parking lot below, which made some people with a fear of heights slightly nauseous. So, they would sit with their backs turned to parking lot and not turn around. The line for concessions was well organized and marked off and concessions prices were decent. If I wanted to not spend too much money, I would bring most of my food/snacks from home and get one thing. Towards the end of my time on the team, the human interactions conversation was geared towards concern over upwards mobility in swimming. A couple of the other girls/women wanted to go further but did not like the tactics USA Swimming used of publicity stunt relationships where people were paired with whoever USA Swimming wanted instead of who they were really with to paint a picture of what swimming in America "should" look like. They sent off some very strong vibes of blaming country club culture, which in our summer league swimming meant Sand Point. I have encountered the "should" (also known as obligation or entitled) culture outside of swimming and Sand Point, so that was not a personal problem I had. However, it did direct conversation while here. Locker rooms were clean and would get dirtier during the swim meet, though staff still ran their locker room sweeps and stayed on top of it as best they could. The ribbons station was easy to find and tended to not get too backed up. The area around the starting blocks was not too cramped. Event numbers were displayed high up and were easy to see from across the pool. Bleacher seating was available. read more

So I actually ended up going here to man a hole for my company at the Windermere Golf Tournament. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking! I'm not big into golf but from what I can tell, this is the ideal place to play! I absolutely loved the atmosphere, people riding around in golf carts, having fun and drinking. After checking out the website, I also found that they have quite a bit to offer in terms of event space indoor, they also have a tennis court and I believe they offer some fitness classes. Although it's well outside of my price point, I can see why people pay to be members. It seems well worth the money to get to do those activities at such a beautiful, well-maintained space! read more

Beautiful club! The setting overlooking the lake and the mountains is absolutely stunning, especially on a clear summer evening. Bonus points if you make it for sunset. I've only been here to play tennis as a guest. The four courts are very well-maintained, with no unevenness on the playing surface. There are overhead lights to enable playing well into the night. I also appreciated having a water cooler right on the courts to save time when refilling water. I appreciated that the club did not have draconian policies about signing in/monitoring guests. I was able to just park in the lot and walk down the hill to meet a member by the tennis courts. No sign-in, nothing. Very convenient! read more

I recently was the Cinematographer for a Wedding at Sandpoint Country Club. The staff were incredibly pleasant and kind. Really great group of people to work with. Dinner was great, it was a buffet dinner, but the served a seated salad and bread first which was really nice for all the people waiting. It sounded like Saturday weddings are a deal! I have used this venue many times for work events and their service is always top notch. A place that would normally be considered stiffy and stuffy, the people here are very down-to-earth and friendly and their staff is amazing. I can only rate SPCC for their banquet hall and catering service which is excellent. The views are nice and since their remodel 2 years ago, everything is completely modern and they added an elevator! I remember the days of having special events here and having to lug several big boxes of stuff up a flight of winding stairs. Their food is pretty decent for a sit down dinner. I've never gotten any complaints on parking although their parking lot in front of their clubhouse is strictly for SPCC members only. The catering manager I have had the pleasure of working with is always professional and accomodating. Their staff is just as friendly and helpful. I would certainly recommend this place for weddings or elegant affairs if the price doesn't deter you away, as it is pretty expensive to hold an event here. But, what do you expect for a country club? read more

The course has been redesigned recently. Very confusing fairway layout, disappointing practice facility, lack of tee markers on every hole, and bunker are surrounded by fescues. Not a fun course to play if you are trying to enjoy the game. read more

Beautiful club, top of the line service from staff, delicious food and plenty of parking! There was a luncheon here yesterday for over 115 people yet all of the food was hot and fresh. Golfing ended a bit early so half of the golfers came inside early. The kitchen didn't miss a beat and got the food out early. Beautiful location and wonderful course. read more

My wife and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at Sand Point Country Club and we couldn't be happier with the service and the venue! The views of the water and golf course was breathtaking, the staff and the food were amazing, and everything was done in a professional and accommodating manner. We have received so many compliments from friends and family about the food, the venue and the overall experience at the country club. More than we could have ever imagined. We went as guests. It was very easy to get in, nobody checked us in or made sure we were with members. We waltzed upstairs to the brunch. Brunch was decent; the food was ok, not great but not awful. The staff were mostly sullen teenagers, but the guy at the omelette station was kind and helpful, and even complimented my dress. We then went swimming. When I think country club I think SWANKY. This was not. The dressing rooms look like the YMCA and there are no towels. No soap either, although there is shampoo and conditioner in the showers. There are lockers. So if you are swimming here, bring all your toiletries, towels for pool and after shower, a lock for the locker. The pools were lovely. The 1 foot kiddy pool held NO interest for my 2 year old, she wanted BIG POOL. So we went there, it was 3.5 feet where we hung out, and she jumped in and climbed about of the pool about 30 times. Then she was cold and done. I was able to spin our swimsuits in the locker room so I didn't have a complete wet mess in my bag, and I borrowed a towel from a friend, since I didn't bring one as I didn't know to do so. I think it's a mid range club, not high class, not quite YMCA level, and the grounds and pool are well kept. I can see why people who golf and have kids join here. read more

I love SPCC! The most beautiful views of Lake Washington, Magnuson Park, and the Cascades. And the food is delicious. My favorites are the halibut tacos, prawn curry, and all of the salads (too good to choose one). If it's sunny, make sure you get a table outside the Pan Room! read more

Came for dinner, stayed for the coconut prawns. Seriously, the coconut prawns were amazing. The slightly spicy yet sweet sauce is also quite good. Pretty good beer selection including 3 on tap Oktoberfest beers. The ahi tuna tacos were pretty good but not spectacular. Service was very friendly and gave some suggestions. The best part was, I didn't have to borrow a member's jacket! read more

Beautiful setting overlooking Lake Washington and the Cascade mountains! The course is very well maintained and well laid out for an in city course. The layout challenges you to stay straight or you will be forced to punch out or make an obstructed shot. The clubhouse is very nice and the staff is very welcoming. Does not have the stuffy feel of many country clubs and is very family friendly. The swimming pool and tennis courts make this a true country club. read more

Just left a Windermere Relocation Event at the Sand Point Country Club. The meeting room was in good condition and the views of the golf course and the water were phenominal. The staff was very friendly, they helped take some pictures of the event and they were all very cheerful. I would definitely go to another event at this venue. read more

It's definitely not the greatest course in the area, but the facilities are very nice and the guys in the clubhouse and pro shop are welcoming. The course is always green, and there's an awesome view on the 9th hole. read more

Beautiful club, family friendly. Well worth the money.

I had my wedding at Sand Point this past summer. Th event coordinator, Amy, was incredibly helpful and patient with all of my requests. The day of my wedding there were 50 mph winds and electricity was out all over Seattle. The staff at Sand Point worked diligently to get backup generators for the food and to light so many candles and take care of a million little things behind the scenes. Thankfully, the lights came on after about 20 minutes and the night ran smoothly. The food was delicious and thanks to Billy, we had amazing wine. Thank you, Sand Point staff!! read more
