She just moved from her location on 429 State Street for 4.5 years. She plans to concentrate on her trademark design (a multi-colored heart) which is on caps, sweatshirts, and tank tops. Each item is an original and carefully made. She also has a nice selection of jewelry. I ended up buying a cute bikini off of her sale rack, but I will be back to get a trucker hat soon! Her hours are Wednesday- Friday 1-5 pm but people are encouraged to call to schedule a time outside of those hours.

One was "out of order" due to light fixtures, one was clearly usable but "closed" for no apparent reason and one was reserved for handicap (which is understandable). When I asked the retail agents to reconsider opening the one that seemed useable I was met with a firm "no". Still for no good reason other than "it's closed". At one point there were about 6-8 potential paying customers waiting to try on clothes. Furthermore, there were about 4-5 agents behind the counter "working" one sitting on top of the counter. Their clothing is gorgeous, high quality, and unique. I was elated when I saw they had opened a store on State Street in Santa Barbara. My first visit was to buy a gift for a friend (she loved a pair of wide leg linen pants I had and I wanted to get her something similar). I found the item I was looking for and asked the cashier what the return policy was. I never asked before because when buying for myself, I make sure I 100% want the item and it fits perfectly, as I hate to return stuff. I was told I could get my money back if I returned it within 14 days with receipt. After that, it was store credit only. The pants did not fit my friend, so I went to return them. I was told I could only get store credit. I phoned the Ojai store and explained what happened, and they allowed the return for cash. I will not go into detail as to how I got treated when I returned the pants once again to store manager Andrea. It was the most obnoxious, ungracious way to treat a great customer. So for all of you who go shop at Kariella and I highly recommend the store, just avoid dragon Andrea. You can't miss her : hair uncombed, tattoos all over, bare stomach hanging over clothing that is 2 sizes too small for her weight, looking like she just came rolling in from having spent a night in a biker's bar. It sucks that one bad review can shape a small business and take away from its customer service. No hello, no acknowledgement whatsoever. A group of women were in there ooohing and ahhing over their pal in a lovely orange dress. The saleswoman seemed perfectly happy to help them but utterly ignored me. I actually took another lap around the store, hoping that someone would at least take notice but nope! So I left. I still think Heidi Merrick clothing is lovely, but this experience definitely changed my desire to give the company my business.
