I was in Santa Barbara for the weekend and had to stop in at this store! It looks so fun from the outside and is even more fun within if you get to talk with Fabian and Shannon! This place is perfect for getting gifts and great beach items and decor. You will definitely walk out with a tasteful selection if you let Fabian guide your hand. I have the picnic blanket and a couple of towels and I use them all the time. My favorite beach towels hands down. There is also a great bodega next door to get some snacks. I finally made the time to stop by this place and so glad I did! I've been wanting to purchase a Turkish Towel forever and figured I would stop by here first before ordering on Amazon. They had a sale basket of towels and luckily I found one for only $15! They also offer jewelry, candles, hats, clothing, tote bags and other cute items. Whether it's for yourself or a gift; they have a nice selection of reasonably priced things here. I'm definitely going to make this my go to for gifts in the future. What a lovely little shop! We found do many delightful items in it. Not just towels--that's a misnomer! So we bought a very special locally produced perfume that sends you right back to Hawaii or Fiji or Tahiti. Really impressive! And a gold necklace with a heart pendant that had a topaz on the front and "I am loved" on the back. The best part of this shop is the manager(or owner?), Fabian. What a complete joy he was and an interesting and compassionate man! Oh yeah, we bought a Hendry's Beach natural coconut candle with a label that had dogs frolicking on the beach. Very intense natural coconut fragrance. This place is a big WIN! read more

One of the males that works there (or maybe the only one?) was extremely rude. I almost didn't make the purchase because of his poor customer service. They don't honor their Twism deals (previously Axxess) for sale items, which is fine, but the way he chose to communicate it and act towards me was unnecessary and lost a recurring customer (I will no longer be returning). Please be kind - it's the holidays and a stressful time for many! And remember that good customer service goes a long way, especially for small local businesses. (I do want to caveat that the other employees I've encountered there during this visit and in the past have been very kind, helpful and nice). read more

I never thought that I would be writing a review for a towel company much more leave a super positive review but here I am. I had family visiting and I took them to Santa Barbara for the day. As we were walking from the beach/Stearns wharf there was a sign that read 'Dog Friendly shopping,' which was the impetus for checking it out. I figured as long as I could bring my dog I'd at least do a quick lap and leave. I had no idea what a Turkish style towel was but I learned that it's a towel that you can use for the beach, pool and other...towel type uses, I guess. They do get softer with each use which is a feature. Between all of us we only bought one, my mom didn't think she needed one, only for her to ask if she could have it when she left. Fast forward a few weeks later and I'm back in SB and went back to try and get a replacement for the towel that I probably should have bought two of. Unfortunately, they didn't have the exact item I was looking for but they were having a sale on select items with 30% off. The owner was working that day so she said 30% off everything. I ended up getting more stuff than I thought I would, I remembered I needed kitchen towels. Both times the staff were super friendly and it's always nice to have my pup feel welcome. I'm planning another SB trip soon and I'll definitely be looking to stop in again-maybe they'll have the original towel I bought or I'll remember that I actually need something else. read more

My wife and I were told about the Riviera Towel company by the nice worker at La Reve spay. She said, it may say towel, but it's much more than that. I would agree! There are so many cool items at the store such as clothes, candles, bracelets, etc. We ended up buying some amazing candles and what we got was an AMAZING conversation with Fabian. Fabian was a joy to talk to, and feeling and it made our time there so much more enjoyable. Hearing some of his stories and his positive energy and vibe made my wife and I smile. He is the reason we want to come back and purchase more items. Did I mention the Christmas candles we purchased smelled AMAZING? You will not be able to walk by this shop without stopping and crossing the threshold. The gorgeous colors beckon and the perfectly displayed merchandise begs to be more closely examined. Truly, the curation and merchandising are perfection. I dare you to even try to leave empty handed. That said, perhaps the greatest joy in visiting the Riviera Towel Company is meeting FABIAN!
