When I showed it to her on a video call she was less than enthusiastic. I took it back to Waterwear for return. The unfriendly lady said, among other comments, that she would allow it but she was doing me a favor. My husband, who stood nearby, heard and observed her rudeness, as would have any other customer present. It was embarrassing. Did she think I was stealing, cheating, committing fraud? I will never shop there again.

They even had a sale rack with some awesome shirts. Checked out the trendy one piece bathing suits I think are designed for surfing and no wedgies haha! Ended up finding some sandals which they actually had my size, much to my surprise! Love the cushion/ yoga feel on them. But wasn't sold or indecisive on which to buy. My second visit in January 2026 was just as great--I found the same bikini in a different color and was thrilled. Unfortunately, after my purchase I realized the sizes were wrong. I called immediately and was told to come back to exchange for the correct size. On my third visit, Sunday January 11th around 3 PM, there were no sizes available in any of the bikini styles. Since we visit every year, I asked for store credit. I was told, "I'm not sure how to do that, so you'll need to use the full credit." To my shock, I was pressured into picking out random items I didn't need--Sand Cloud towels and a t-shirt--just to use the credit. It was incredibly disappointing to go from top-notch service to what felt like gas-station-level customer service. Sadly, I won't be returning.

But, I happened to be in the area and the store had a Memorial Day sale going on, so in I went. THE STORE: Located on the first level of The Shops At Wailea near the northern entrance, it's a quaint space that's full of inventory. While organized, the men's shirts were hidden behind one another, so you had to put in the effort of hunting in order not to miss anything. The sale rack was adequate but none of the patterns on discount caught my eye. Instead, I ended up finding the regularly-priced shirt I passed up on at their Ala Moana Center location as my second ever purchase. SERVICE: The sole, young gal working was friendly, professional and even walked my bag around to me from behind the counter. Very classy. The only other time that happened was at Nordstrom Ala Moana. OVERALL: Advantage Maui as we have a slightly lower sales tax than Oahu.
