This is my favorite Ross's store on the island. It's clean and semi-organized. They have a lot of stuff. From beauty supplies to luggage to clothes and shoes. I even found two hokas for $89! Hokas! One thing that I was looking for that I could not find was a plastic tumber set. Find it super strange that the store only has glassware. Oh well. I still found a lot of other things that my house needed, for a great price. read more

I've driven by this store many times and finally had time to stop and check it out. Man they have so many items packed into this location clothes/toys/household items ect. The clothes are all divided by size and category. The store was clean and dressing rooms were nice sized and very well maintained. The staff were helpful and answered any questions I had. I finally wore out a pair of PJ bottoms. Too many washings. They Finally began to shred. So ROSS. I know if I come here I'll have a big selection. Reality, lots of clothes, but very little in what I was seeking. I found 3 , & chose one at a fair price. They had a clean changing room and 3 registers open. An Easy process. Overall it felt crowded with narrow aisles. We ll be back but knowing how it is. read more

The Ross in Kihei Hawaii is the cleanest and best organized Ross that I have ever seen.

Now that Ross has opened on my side of the island, I will admit that there are times that I come here on a weekly basis. BUT...I don't walk out with stuff every time. However, I've learned it the hard way that when you see something you like, you better get it. Like the other Ross, there are times I've come in & racks & shelves are packed to max & others where there are just a few things hanging out. I've yet to find footwear at this one, not that there's nothing in my size, but nothing that's caught my eye just yet. I have bought dresses, tops, active wear & workout equipment. Oh & some food, protein bars more specifically. Those things are so darn expensive, so when I find some here, I grab a few boxes. Again, with the tight aisles! Errrr, I've been trapped in aisles way too many times. Or when you are exiting & someone comes in so you have to turn around & go out the other way. I will say though, that there have been some nice people that will park their cart on the outside of the aisle. read more

Not sure what all the bad reviews are about, my past few visits to this Ross location has proved to be 'fruitful' to say the least with many great deals that were had. I honestly feel like this Ross has SO many more options and deals than the one in Kahului. I've basically been able to score a whole range of brand new shorts for less than $100. Sweet! This past visit we went back to get a toy that would be perfect for our little one. Unfortunately we waited too long (I blame the husband) and the toy was gone! There was however racks and racks of clearance items which piqued my interest. So much that we didn't even get through the whole aisle before I was shopped out. Haha. I snagged some nice quality business casual clothes and sweaters for an upcoming trip along with a few dresses. Can't wait to wear them all! We usually go on a Sunday afternoon and usually the shop is pretty empty with only a handful of folks around. It does seem smaller than the Kahului location and quite a bit cramped in some areas, but the deals are what shine here in my opinion. Checkout has been a breeze and we've had the same lady help us each time we've visited. She's been very friendly, personable, and complimented us on our little one :) Would definitely recommend a stop here! read more

Maui's second Ross store is located in the Pi'ilani Village Center, having taken the space vacated by Hilo Hattie. The original and largest store resides in Kahului near Maui Mall, with the island's third and newest location in the Lahaina Gateway Center. EXPERIENCE: I just went in for the Yelp review as my friend wanted to look around. Let it be known that I am not a fan of Ross. While I'm all for lower prices, I cannot stand skimming through a mishmash of clothes jam-packed together with the possibility of receiving an irregular article of clothing. The store was pretty organized for being at almost closing time. It's smaller than the Kahului store and about the same size as the one in Lahaina according to my Ross-a-holic friend I was with. It's like being in a small Walmart as they sold snacks, housewares, toys, bed and bath items, kitchen ware, cheap art and of course clothing. The women's section is to the right as you enter, men's on the left, and everything else in the middle. Being that it was the eve of Halloween, I figured I could further enhance my costume for the next day with a bizarre wardrobe as I dressed up as "I'm a mess" with an eye-popping combination of colors and styles. So, I started to get into it, finger-by-finger skimming through the clothes and pants. Some items were dirt cheap ($8 for shirts) with most running in the "teens". While the latter was still affordable, I didn't want to spend that much on something I'd wear only once, so I didn't make a purchase. At least I was entertained for 20 minutes. SERVICE: We were surprisingly greeted as we entered by a worker and thanked on the way out by security. OVERALL: I'm proud to say I can count on one hand the amount of times I've made a purchase at Ross which is twice. Once to buy a gift card for the friend I was with, and a second time for a garden hose which turned out to be the worst garden hose in the history of garden hoses as it's hard like a rock and a chore to roll up. It's the kind of place you either love or hate. Me, I'm a hater, lol. read more

I don't know why I had such high expectations. I was really excited to get inside the store. However, it's just a plain old store. It seems a little smaller than the Kahului Ross. The men's shoe selection and women's shoe selection seem to have a bit more choices than Kahului, but overall, the layout seems tighter. Their kitchen items, children's toys, and foodstuff areas appear to be smaller in size and have fewer options. Then again, they DID just open, so I may re-review it in a few weeks. With all that being said, however, it IS nice to have a Ross store close by, in Kihei. It gets tiresome having to drive into Kahului all the time for nearly everything. Just a note: I don't want another strip mall out in Kihei, but a few shops like Ross opening up in existing shopping centers (note: the old Kukui Mall, etc) would be nice. No new shopping centers - nosiree. We got enough spaces - we just need the retailers to move into the existing buildings. read more

This is CRAZY. Wagon full of bags and other .99 items all for 1 person. When asked if she was sharing for others In the store, she said nope, she's buying it all. Messed up how this store doesn't stop the amount being bought at a time and shared for others to buy. When speaking to male manager, he said everyone is allowed to buy however much they want, and there's nothing they can do, sorry. I get it your allowed to buy what u want and how much, but when it comes to sale items, you shouldn't be allowed to be selfish and not share for the next person. HORRIBLE! read more

I purchased a set of sheets from this store. After 2 weeks of use they started ripping at the seams, obviously defective. I still had the receipt so I brought the sheets back to the store but they refused to give me a refund saying I can't return them without the packaging in order to verify the purchase. I HAD THE RECEIPT WHICH VERIFIES THE PURCHASE. The store manager and employee both admitted they don't save their packaging for that long...nor do I. They also stated since I washed the sheets I couldn't return them even though the manufacturer says to wash them before use. Neither of these policies make sense. Terrible service. Horrible store policies. I will not shop here again. They're not even concerned about losing a customer over a $29.99 refund. read more

I purchased shoes 30 days ago with a 30 day return policy. Check out clerk informed me only rule was being in my receipt. I had been hospitalized etc and only last few days wore my shoes at Hale Kaukau, where I am a kitchen volunteer feeding shut ins and homeless. I realized shoes were 1/2 size off & they were a bit used looking when I returned them...the return clerk and I had a disagreement regarding the return policy, I left my shoes, and left to be on time at Hale...I called back later spoke with the manager who assured me a mistake had been made, please return and she would issue me a store credit, demonstrating Aloha! I apologized to her regarding my misplaced frustration with the sales asst the day before, and left inspired with cleaning up my mess, and receiving excellent customer care, hence 5 stars! Upon entering the store, I felt I was being followed by Loss Prevention. It was so obvious that my every move was met by security, even when I went to the restroom. Upon exciting the restroom, security was right there outside the fitting room. In addition, my daughter had her own security too. We checked out the new Ross here on Maui this past weekend and we weren't impressed. Their shelves seemed very empty which I guess is understandable since Kihei doesn't have that many options like it. It does seem smaller then the one in Kahului. This first visit to this Ross was weird because I felt like the manager on duty was following me at one point maybe because I have a big purse and my cell phone kept going off and I looked suspicious perhaps lol?? It was a very awkward and uncomfortable feeling. He seemed to back off when he realized I was shopping with my sweety and the little one who were in the toys section on the other side. I've been to this Ross twice already since they opened on October 6th. I love Ross! Sometimes you can find really cute clothes for a reasonable price. You just have to have time and patience and look. I like that they have a good variety of things for your dogs. I always buy my dog something whether it's clothes or a toy or a new bed. This Ross seems smaller then the one in kahului. The workers are nice and friendly. I like that they open tim midnight on the weekends and 11:30 on the weekdays. Not the friendliest of employees, disorganized racks..not sure what I was hoping for with this location that replaced a beloved Hilo Hattie's. The folks who work here don't seem to enjoy what they do, or they must get annoying customers constantly. I asked where the beach towels were and the saleslady rolled her eyes and said "in the towel section." I let her know I must have missed it and asked if she could show me. She pointed down the aisle that had them and walked away. They had three options of small beach towels for $11.99. The selection at Walmart or Target would probably have been better but this was the most convenient option in this area. I'm used to pool and beach items being in a separate area but maybe that's only at certain times during the year. Anyway, I didn't feel inclined to stay and look for anything else here after the negative interaction with the employee here. The lady at checkout wasn't rude but wasn't exactly friendly either. I went to the new Ross and noted the following-the internet does not work on my phone inside the store. Not sure if they can actually "turn off" your browser capability but as soon as I stepped outside the door it magically connected again. So in regards to this, I have to say I find this a major inconvenience to my shopping. I like to look on Amazon reviews and let's face it-we are comparison shoppers., that's why we are shopping at Ross to begin with. Today I merely wanted to access Pinterest for Halloween costume ideas, but because of lack of connection, that wasn't happening. So for this reason, I'm giving them two stars because this is a major flaw in the setup of the store and my shopping experience today. Also it drained my battery by the time I left the store. I asked the cashier about this and she looked at the other cashier, and they kinda had a kindred moment-said she's heard that before once. lol I felt bad for them, cause they looked like they were told not to say anything about it. They had a nice selection of women's dresses and a good selection in smaller sizes which are sometimes hard to find. Dressing rooms were nice and clean. Bras, as usual in all Ross stores, were a mess, but that's to be expected. Please fix the internet issue or have a manager address this in the response section to my review. The store may be okay, but some of the people working there need training on customer service. Long lines at check out with only 1 cashier. When I asked if it was possible to get additional employees to help, I was told there were no other employees. The manager overheard me and proceeded to give me attitude for being impatient. Dude, do a better job of scheduling coverage in your store and not have people frustrated by spending more time in the check out line then shopping. And drop the attitude. read more

Rude store associates and manager. Yesterday I came in about 3pm to pick up a few things as me and my family relocated from Lahaina to Kihei last week due to wildfire. There was a lady at the register who said "Aloha Welcome In" as I came in and I heard her say that as other customers entered. However she had ZERO aloha. after I made my purchase, I realized that I lost my phone or left it at home and was unable to call my Uber to pick me up (I have limited mobility due to being in a head on car crash a while back). so I went up to this associate (the aloha lady) and told her what happened and asked if her or her manager would mind allowing me to use their phone to call a taxi and she said "no we can't do that". I was pleading as I was stuck there with no way home. I couldn't even walk to the bus stop (I had cash) due to my injury. I told her she had no aloha and walked out of the store. d one of your customers heard the exchange and came out and said after I left the associate told her "well taxi's cost money" as if I was wanting Ross to pay my way home. o had money, I was merely asking if they would call one on my behalf to come pick me up. The nice customer apologized for your rude associate and took me home. you really need to talk to your associates AND MANAGEMENT team there to have more empathy for customers if they need help of any kind. Incredibly rude, misinformed, ignorant staff. Fitting rooms are closed in accordance with Hawaiian ordinance, fine. No problem. I tried a jacket on in front of a mirror and an incredibly misinformed staff member snapped at me that "you're not allowed to try clothes on in the store." The prohibition, ma'am, is against fitting rooms. Not against trying clothes on. Sincerely, an actual lawyer who read the ordinance. There is also no Ross policy against PUTTING JACKETS ON IN THE STORE IN FRONT OF THE MIRROR. She acted like I was trying on panties or something. Management seriously needs to retrain its staff. All the workers are rude and miserable and treat customers like absolute CRAP except for the one tall , young male security guard ~he's the only one who's friendly and normal . The African American security guards is not only creepy but he's also annoying and weird. The selection sucks in kihei and the vibe is horrific in there . It's super ghetto. I live south side and drive all the way to Kahului to shop at that Ross because I'm treated like a human and the selection is better in Kahului . Usually this place is on point. I visit maui at least once if not twice a year and they always had a great selection of goods and footwear. Tonight it was bare bones and the service was lackluster. The line was 8 deep and the poor manager was ringing all alone. 1 fitting room attendant 1 LP and 1 Sistah just hanging at the jewelry counter not doing anything.
