Red Hot pandora was on, and once we started smoking things seemed to get better. The hookah was nice, don't get me wrong. We had friendly service, and enjoyed the tobacco. I just feel like we paid too much for it. Hookah is only half the battle though. While that was good, I really cant say that I enjoyed my time on their couches enjoying the lounge. We were each told by Melanie that an additional gratuity fee would be added because our group was considered "large," even though this was never communicated to us beforehand. We were also given the impression that our group needed to be finished and out by 6 PM, despite the business being scheduled to remain open until 10 PM. No time limit was communicated to us when we arrived. Additionally, some members of our group were charged regular prices rather than the advertised happy hour prices, which added to the frustration and confusion surrounding the evening. While we were never directly told to leave, the way the situation was handled by Melanie made us feel pressured to do so. We would have happily stayed and continued purchasing drinks, but once we felt that our presence was no longer wanted, we decided it was best to leave. What was especially disappointing was that the business was not particularly busy that evening, and our group was not preventing other customers from being seated or interfering with business. This made the experience difficult to understand and left us feeling singled out. I understand that businesses may have policies regarding larger groups, but those policies should be communicated clearly and upfront. Unfortunately, the way this was handled felt unprofessional and left a very negative impression on our group. These days, its friendly vibe welcomes neighbors and visitors with a backyard setting strewn with twinkle lights and family-style tables. It's a causal scene and easy to soak in the live music, sunlight/moonlight, and neighborly banter. The layout resembles an alley with shops on either side, big open doors invite you to grab something to eat, sample a drink, or shop for handmade gifts. On one side, you've got craft brews and coffee roasters. On the other side, it's local wines and piping hot pizzas. Dogs are welcome all around. At the center of it all, there's live music on the weekends. Modeled after a Beer & Wine Garden concept, The Alley features Enegren Brewery (beer), Lucas Sellers (wine), California Coffee Republic (java), Fire & Vice (pizza), and The Craft House (non-alcoholic tchotchkes). As a self-proclaimed wino, I opted for a sampling of the Lucas Sellers Wines. Ashley, who was behind the bar and top of the pours, gave me good suggestions and offered anecdotes about each wine on tap. We go to wednesday night trivia because we love the quality of the quiz and we suffer through your food as a sort of "necessary evil" and you can accuse me of not approaching you personally when there was a problem with a meal but the fact of the matter is that I have approached your managers several times with issues (like when the iced tea had no flavor or the fries tasted like they were cooked in filthy oil or the chili breadbowl was stale) and those same managers (multiple) said that you weren't there and you didn't really care about the product the crown and anchor put out. you could have just apologized for my negative experience but instead you accused me of lying and slander. And just because you manage to stay in business doesn't mean that you are putting out good/consistent product.

That's it. I basically paid $120 for my wife and kids to drive 1 hour to see the movie, when I could have played it at my house. My wife calls me, furious. So I call the box office...they told me as a 1 time courtesy, they will refund me in 7 business days. It's been almost a month. I received nothing. So I called them just now only to be told I won't be getting a refund. The rep even acknowledged there were a lot of angry people. I encourage everyone to do a chargeback on their cards if you attended. It was straight up theft. $120 to play the little Mermaid Movie. And then the box office lied to me about the refund. This is how they billed it " Make a splash with an unforgettable, family-friendly event where you become part of the story! Sing-Along Live! brings Disney's beloved classic The Little Mermaid to the big screen with on-screen lyrics, audience participation moments, and a wave of musical fun for all ages. This event will be hosted live by our costumed Mermaid Princess." When in reality they just played the movie. Shame on the production company, and shame on the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza for letting these people scam everyone.

I must say, the theatre we were in to see the show was veryyyyy comfortable. The seats are spacious and soft and comfy to sit in. The theatre was smaller than I expected, but still fit so many people. Lighting and sound are great. Bar service is easy too, there were 3 different bars to choose from so we were able to head to the ones with the shortest lines. Drinks are a bit pricey though. Wonderful show, so much fun!!!!
