    Hot lobster roll
    Sally B.

This is such an appealing market. The lobster rolls are stuffed and delicious! The cold lobster roll has a perfectly grilled bun, and even is great on a lettuce wrap. The hot is like eating a lobster with drawn butter. Yum, yum. One of my kids said, "THIS is the best lobster roll." The other said, "This deli is a treasure trove of amazing stuff!" It's true. They even carry Cape-themed gifts and sand toys, and there is seating inside and out. Owners are super friendly.

I visited The Billingsgate Market and my friend and I decided to have a lobster roll, one hot and one cold. Superb!

I loved the Billingsgate Market. The hot and cold lobster rolls were both top notch. I'm a foodie and I know good food. This is a nice find on the Cape. The owner of the business is very nice and I wholeheartedly recommend supporting this new business. It's important to help young entrepreneurs.

After a bite was taken... the lobster just pours out.

NO bathrooms available but cute little market with undeniably amazing lobster rolls for $25~ this thing is packed with lobsters that tastes fresh. I would say -1 for being a bit too salty for my pallet but otherwise this is really a small little hidden gem... on the cape.

The place is set up like a casual restaurant where you order at the counter and they bring the food to you. When we walked in they had their radio set on a Christian station praising all kind of Christian ideology for all to hear. When we walked in, the lady behind the counter just looked at us with no welcoming smile nor attitude. I said Good morning and I got a slight smile from her. I then asked if they had any diabetes friendly items on the menu....She said...I don't know what that means ????!???!?! How can you work in a restaurant and not know what diabetes is ??? I then said, items with low sugar content. She still said, I don't know. So I decided to order a salad. Their Basco Salad was described as a bed of fresh greens and a nice Lomo on top. The salad came up fairly quickly and it was delicious. The boneless pork loin was well seasoned and warm. The greens were fresh and well balanced. I liked the food, but the stern long face of the lady as well as her inability (or un-willingness) to help made me drop one star out of my experience.

My order was ready for our beach trip and they were all so kind. The cookies for dessert and the wonderful veggies that can be added were great. They were generous with the meat. They have a line for ordering and a line for paying. But they don't let you pay until your sandwich is done. So when it's busy what happens is your sandwich is done and then you have to get in a long line and wait when you could've been paid and out of there. Only way to counter this is to order online which you don't always think to do. Annoying problem that could easily be solved with common sense. There's also always like 15 people working and they still take a while to make your sandwich even if they're mildly busy. Then, like everyone else they flip around the iPad on you and ask you for a 25% tip while people are behind you in line also waiting for their sandwiches that have been sitting there for 10 minutes

I ended up with a half dozen Wellfleet oysters, which were substantial (2 year olds?), fresh, and briny -- exactly what you want in a Wellfleet. The only downside: They came with a lot of shell bits in the brine. I get that these oysters are hard to shuck since they have those rough, irregular shells (a result of being buffeted by the rough waves in this area). But I can do a better job when I have my good shucking knife on me and I am far from an expert shucker. A Caribbean fish soup / stew was also quite enjoyable, though my impolite and poorly-brought-up progeny made gagging noises when I opened up the container of soup in the car. I guess he thought it smelled unpleasantly fishy. :) He did quite enjoy a creme brulee we found in a refrigerated case in the market, however. Pleasant outdoor seating; delicious-looking menu (some of which isn't as ridiculously overpriced as it is in much of the Cape); pristinely fresh seafood; and super nice staff. But I was a little surprised by how long it took for us to receive the soup, which presumably had already been prepared, when it wasn't busy at all. (I think it took about 15 minutes!)
