What does the symbol that looks like a harp mean, then a flash of low tire pressure appeared. I pulled over, turned on my hazards to think of a quick place in Coalinga to air up my tire. My immediate thought was "Take it to Billingsly". Now I had no idea how low my tire was, but I flipped a U and headed into town. I turned on my hazards again and pulled off to the side because a big cement truck was headed my way hauling butt. Luckily the speed limit in town is 30mph. Billingsly looked very busy this Friday morning, but I was grateful for the sun shining today and there was zero fog. When I got out to look at my tire, that shorty was low, low, low, low. . . Low low low. The owner was helpful & he immediately tended to me and guided me around to park. While I was sitting in my car, he jacked up the tire & took it off for inspection. Yah, I hit a nail and it was stuck on the sidewall. "But I haven't gone anywhere"! I exclaimed. Must have been when I went through the alley after I picked up my car after the detail job. He offered me three choices, economical, Cooper, or Michelin. I opted for Cooper, but he said, "Nah, you should go with the economical so they all will wear evenly until the next time you replace all four". Very nice. I appreciate his honest opinion. Our 2020 Outback's check engine light came on and started idling rough when we stopped for a break at Harris Ranch. We were able to drive the garage and the mechanic, Gary, was able to help us right away despite being slammed just a couple of days before the Thankgiving holiday. We rented a u-haul truck for moving and was able to pick it up here. At first we were looking for "u-haul neighborhood dealer" and didn't see it. Kept driving around and had a hunch that it was this place. Came to the counter to process paperwork and confirm identity. The employee was very nice and friendly. Make sure you fill up the gas in the u-haul truck the same amount as when you pick it up. They also let us choose where we want to drop it off. These guys were our heroes! We had a blowout in our motorhome on the 5. we were not close to any offramp and called auto club for help. The AAA towing company told us they were not equipped to handle our RV and to call Billingsley tire and ask for Pat. They came as soon as possible and Abel changed our tire. We were concerned about the condition of our other tires (2012) so we followed him to the shop in Coalinga. We decided to have them change out all of our tires, so while we went to get lunch they did the work. Their prices were fair and they got us back on the road quickly. Had a leak in a tire. They removed the tire, looked for the leak, even unmounted the tire to try to find the leak. Couldn't find any leaks. Remounted the tire and reinstalled it. Would not charge me for the work. Unfortunately leak still persists. But they tried hard. read more

I had three tires blowout on a Sunday evening and managed to get to an exit on interstate 5 where I found an open shop that I will review later they wanted to charge me 200 per tire and i googled the tire and Walmart sells them for 53 dollars..... Back to this guys they are only 12 miles away and everyone I asked refer me to them it was worth sleeping on my truck as soon as I got there they got me a price and put me back in the road with only 256 dollars and a super nice vip treatment my advice don't use shops on side of the freeway. Billingsley Overcharged me for his storage units. When I sent him back the keys I asked him to let me know what I owe at that point. I was 3 months back. He didn't bother to contact me. Just sent a collection agency after me and added 2 3 months to the bill.This is 2nd time I've had problems with Billingsley. I have learned my lesson. My tire popped on I5 an hour into my drive into LA at 2:00AM and I was panicking but AAA reassured that there were places in Coalinga open at 8:00AM. I was worried about the price because places usually charge a couple hundred for each tire however Andrew was very helpful here and they only charged me 250 for both front tires and got rid of the old ones with a small fee. Honestly this place is a couple hundred miles away from me but I am seriously considering coming to this place every time for tire replacements and repair. Definitely recommend!! read more

We blew a tire on the 5 S, so we called AAA and were able to get in contact with the owner, who came in on his day off (Memorial Day) to help us out. He gave us a reasonable quote, changed the blown tire, checked the levels of the other tires, and got us out in 20 mins. During the work, he asked my fiancée and I about our wedding. Then, after we paid for the tire, I tried to give the man an extra $20 for coming out just for us. He refused, saying "save it for the wedding". Above and beyond service, quick and honest folk, available 24-hours. If you're stuck on I-5, come here! Got a flat tire about 30 miles outside Coalinga. Threw on the spare and headed up 5 in search of a full size replacement. Billingsley was closed, but I called the 24 hour hotline number on the answering machine, and they kindly offered to stay until we arrived. We were clearly the last customers of the night, but the staff greeted us warmly and quickly swapped out the spare, packed it back nicely in the trunk, and even rotated the tires (no charge) for a better ride. They offer low to high range tires to fit your budget; we took the mid-range and spent ~$115 total for the swap. They could have up-charged like crazy in the middle of I-5, after-hours on a Friday night, but we were very happily surprised! read more

I drove up right at close of business on a Thursday with a screw in my tire that was unfortunately in the side and not fixable so I had to have a brand new tire put on my car. Not only did they stay after to complete the work they did it within 15 minutes and I was back on the road. Awesome service. I wish that I had more to say, but this really sums up my experience. I can add that I also get my oil changed here and other minor services and have always been satisfied. Every time I drop my car off they offer to give me a ride home or back to work. Their prices are competitive unless you count the superior service, which puts them ahead of the rest. Last year they put tires on the front of my car and a week later I noticed a bulge on the side of the tire so I stopped by and without question they replaced it for free. Did a Yelp search and found Billingsley which had 5 stars and was only about 20 mins away from where I was. I walked in and they were able to help me right away! So we got a flat tire in the middle of nowhere today and Billingsley Tire Service in Coalinga happen to be one of the closest places. Yelp and Some locals referred us to them and they were AMAZING and so helpful! It was just my 67 year old mom and I in the car and they were so friendly and thorough and they did everything possible to help us out of a jam. Turned out my rim was cracked on my Acura so ordering a new wheel was going to be challenging to say the least. They used their local Coalinga, CA network And sent one of their employees to a guy down the road to try to find a wheel that would work on my car to get us home which was another two hours to Manteca. When all is said and done they got us back on the road within a few hours. I was to use room in the new tire but it worked we offered him a $20 tip and the guy refused and wouldn't take it. Driving back to the Bay Area from LA on a Sunday night. Blown tire on at close to midnight, then a AAA call and a Motel 6 stay. Not a way to end a weekend or start a week. Called Billingsley at 7:00 AM (the place near I5 opens at 9:00 AM) and got a reasonable quote for two tires. Drove the 13 miles to Billingsley Tire Service in downtown Coalinga and got a better quote...because he was the boss:-). Everyone who took care of us and I talked to was friendly and personable. I even met and talked to a long time (91 year old) Coalinga resident getting his 1969 four wheel drive tire replaced. Now when I pass Coalinga, I won't think about the smell but I will remember the great service I got at Billingsley Tire Service. These guys care about people, not just the all mighty dollar! Several weeks ago my wife had a puncture midway on a trip from N Cal. to S. Cal. Vehicle was a Porsche Macan with 21 inch High Performance tires. First shop would not even look at the tire, could not dismount. Billingsley removed tire and noted puncture was in sidewall and they could not repair. This was close to closing but they called all around to find anything that would work to continue the journey to S. Cal. No luck. They strongly advised against mounting the "weenie" tire and continuing another 200 miles, over the Grapevine, which my wife agreed. They were willing to have a tire first thing in the morning, however the intent of the trip was for my wife to be with her sister during a difficult doctor visit, early in the morning. Having AAA, we just had her and the vehicle taken on a 200 mile ride. Billingsley people waited past closing to insure car was loaded safely and my wife was safely on her way. No they did not pull any rabbits out of a hat in terms of tire repair, but they showed human kindness, with no reward for them, which is worthy of 5 Stars in my book. read more
