The perfect cure for a hangover? A large crush and veggie breakfast at Bills. Two poaches eggs covered in sweet chilli dipping sauce on a bed of toast. One piece of toast covered in fresh, home-made guacamole with a chilli kick. The other covered in red pepper humous. My stomach is now full and my head is starting to ache a little less. I might even be able to manage a wee glass of Shiraz in an hour....

Went to Bill's after a recommendation from a colleague's friend after a night out on 'work' business. Pretty safe to say I had one of the best (and probably healthiest) full English breakfasts - ever. In fact, I've never seen so much greenery on a fry up. Everything was cooked perfectly and it was a triumph of a breakfast. Juices were good, if a little pricey, but I could practically hear my body sigh with relief as something that was considerably healthy than what I was consuming the night before entered its system. Bill's does the whole organic, fancy, farm store thing very very well. It's not too in your face and you can browse the shelves on one side of the eating area that are adorned with all kinds of goodies. Service was swift and friendly. It was a Tuesday morning so I can't comment on the weekend rushes. And I left full and very satisfied. It wasn't the cheapest breakfast I've ever had, but then again, it was kind of one of the best! I'd definitely go back to Bill's, maybe not on a weekend as the sound of yummy mummys and toddlers would probably make me run a mile. But on a quiet Tuesday morning it was the haven that I needed to nurse me back to normality. Excellent.

Bread basket and coffee- an amazing way to start the day! Thanks Bills! :)

Bills is a true Brighton gem! Though this is part of a small chain, the Brighton Bills feels undeniably local, with a really cosy, farmhouse feel. The interior is spectacular- with walls adorned with jam jars and other condiments and things hanging from the ceiling. The space is vast and the ceiling high and yet there is a cosiness to the place despite this! It feels small and intimate, no matter how busy or empty. I've been here a few times for food and coffee and have been so impressed! The food is truly delicious- I've tasted the brownie and the breakfast bread basket, both of which I would eat over and over again! :) The bread basket was full of wonderful little treats- too many for one person alone, really- and came to a reasonable £4, which really impressed me. The staff are delightful in here and they cater to different diets happily enough it seems, with gluten free brea available on request. This is the perfect little place for breakfast, brunch, lunch or coffee! Whatever you fancy- come to Bills! You'll be finding me in there a lot more now that I've sampled their breakfasts...!

Cumberland Sausage on potato Rosti in foreground - I think other plate is steak with excellent sweet potato fries and corn

Um, so was a bit underwhelmed on the whole, but I think might have been due to my food choice? I walked away feeling stodgy and heavy after a meal of Cumberland sausage and potato Rosti which was very rich and creamy but delish. The sausage was ok, but not something I would order again. My companion had steak which he said was decent but nothing special, however we both agreed that the corn with spice-butter and the sweet potato fries he got as his sides were excellent. Oh the mint-peach tea was also very refreshing, but make sure u ask for less ice otherwise it gets watered down very quickly. I don't know, we might go back if in Brighton again, but this visit for us def did not live up to the hype of the other Yelp reviews.

I wish I could give 6 stars as the service was so good or maybe 7 because they have Portuguese Vinho Verde and that's always an extra star, right?! Yes, it was that great, for real, one of the best meals!! The space is beautiful, with candles on the tables that make it intimate and cozy. All the staff are very friendly and chatty. The food is delicious and so are the drinks! So to start I ordered a glass of vinho verde - it's good, it's portuguese - and a peach and mint iced tea and both were great. Then for starters tortilla chips (which came with 3 different sauces), for a main a Bill's hamburger and for dessert a Bill's ice cream - yoghurt, vanilla and honeycomb!! All truly amazing, superb! However, the staff always make a difference in a meal experience. In this case they totally exceeded my expectations. One of those places where I get a welcome feeling. Since I walked-in they were really nice and they checked several times to make sure everything was alright but the highpoint was at the end when I told the waitress that she was amazing and that she must have loads of patience to look after the rude customers on the table right beside us (they were acting awkwardly all night)! At this point she said: 'That just made my day, can I give you a hug?'. Well, I said yes, of course! A space can be pretty, food can be really nice and staff amazing but this place combines everything together to make it perfect! Oh and they have Portuguese wine!!

    Afternoon tea anyone?

Brilliant Bill's in Brighton is the Business. Popped in a few weekends ago for tea and cake, and ended up having lunch and two bottles of sparkling wine. This place is a treat. The room is like a reclaimed fire station/garage. The walls are a floor to ceiling grocery store ... the kind like Whole Foods, where you want to try everything. The staff are typical Brighton kids. The food is scrummy and generous and if you are lucky, or early enough to bag yourself a table, you can easily spend a few hours grazing. Someone's getting a Bills hamper this Christmas! Alas, the London branch in Covent Garden, is none of the above. Though they do sell the Bill branded goodies.

Bill's has been in Brighton for years and I've loved it ever since it opened. I've been with friends, taken family and gone with my other half and every time it's been great. Sadly still miss the amazing desserts they used to do covered in fruit and flowers, they were works of art. The portion sizes have reduced over the years and it's now a really big chain, which means it's lost a bit of its unique charm. Even so they still get top marks as its a great place to go. They do a really good veggie breakfast.

My mom and I stumbled upon this spot while visiting Brighton last month. We wanted coffee and a light lunch and this was perfect. I got an americano which was amazing -- I'm a coffee fiend and this one was definitely something special. We then got the macaroni and cheese which we are currently in the process of trying to recreate back at home because it was so good. We ordered a salad too which was great with a healthy serving of avocado which is always nice (I think it was the bacon salad) Our waitress was a total sweetie too and told us all about her experience in Brighton (I'm moving there in September) and told us some great spots to go check out after our meal. This may have been my favourite spot we ate at on our whole trip and will definitely be one of my regular spots once I move to town.

This place reminds me of trips to Seattle or Melbourne, and I just love the atmosphere. It's a must on every trip to Brighton now! I love everything about it, the decor, the food, the staff ... good balance, and I don't mind paying that little bit extra for extra special yummy meals. I had a lovely quiche on my last visit, and my friend's Indian-influenced vegetable soup looked just as tasty. Mind you, big attack of food envy when I saw pancakes with fresh fruit arrive at the table next to us ...

An amazing place in Brighton, Bill's is half produce store, half cafe/restaurant. Stocking every type of fruit and veg, as well as chutneys, jams, olive oils and all manner of chillies, the dishes here are like nothing on earth. Every order was so well presented when I visited, and arrived in timely fashion (with six of us ordering brunch, we were expecting a bit of chaos). The staff are overwhelmingly friendly, and whilst we had to wait a bit for a table, it was well worth the wait. I ordered Bill's veggie breakfast, which was the poshest fry-up I've ever tasted. The eggs benedict someone else ordered looked amazing, as did the jacket potato with chilli, and the various other brunch meals ordered. The juices are well priced at around £3 each, and we were shocked at how low the bill was - a juice, tea/coffee and brunch dish for each of the six people cost £73 in total. We were impressed. I will definitely visit this colourful, vibrant place again, for brunch but also for dinner - the main courses sounded incredible, as did the lovely desserts.

I'm a visitor to Brighton and I'd not heard of Bill's before this weekend, so I was quite fascinated by the retail patchwork that is the North Lanes area. Set against that background, Bill's is a slick café and deli. Visiting in an evening, as we did for a family celebration meal, the café aspect was uppermost with, so far as I could see, the deli simply providing a backdrop to good food and a welcoming ambience. The menu is quite limited, although there were some specials and with fish, meat and vegetarian, I'd judge there was something for everyone. The wine list was short but, with our party of eight requiring red, white and rosé wine, plus champagne and bottled water, everyone seemed to find something that pleased. Starters for us were mezzes, and the burger drizzled in melted butter, and the curry attracted particular acclaim. I wasn't paying (always a bonus!) but I judged the prices to be above average with some justification. The service was good.

Best restaurant in Brighton. It's a farm barn with tables Don't know what the review below is taking about. Prices are great compared to London and it is so unique(typical Brighton)

Was in Brighton for part of the bank holiday weekend and we needed some food to soak up the night before booze. So a friend suggested this store / restaurant. Service was really friendly and quick. Menu is quite varied with several veggie options. There were four of us. Two ordered the chicken skewers with cous cous (came with pitta bread), another a burger and one of us (me) went for the halloumi and cheese sandwich (it came with skinny fries). All very tasty, came quickish and the bloody marys were very good!!!!

The price point of 12.75 for the food + 3 for the flat white felt reasonable, although I am still acclimating to using pounds (first day here!). The place was really busy but I managed to find a free table outside and spent several minutes looking at the menu and I couldn't decide what to eat as everything sounded so appealing. After making up my mind I chose the falafel, olives and feta on flat bread and an orange juice. The staff seemed really friendly, because you order at the counter but they bring it to your table. My lunch was yummy. Not a super meal, more like a quick bite for lunch but was quite good and the falafel wasn't too crunchy and hard as I experienced before. I decided to not stay for coffee as I wanted to try some other cafés but overall the place was a really good choice for lunch. Nice decor with a few tables to have a seat outside in the sun, pleasant staff, free wifi and a good spot for people-watching (my favourite sport!!).
