THE WORLD'S BEST PECAN PIE. Sorry Great-Grandma, even Daddy agreed with me on this. Please forgive me but the world needs this information.
    Morgan E.

I LOVE this spot, honestly one of my favorite places of all time. Kelly is just the sweetest owner and Beverlee has become a friend that I love like family. I've never tasted anything here less than totally awesome! BUT THE REASON I'M WRITING THIS REVIEW, GUYS.... THIS PLACE HAS THE BEST PECAN PIE ON EARTH. I kinda hate sharing the secret but I love them enough that I felt it important to say it LOUD. Seriously. Holy. Shit. We're talking lick-the-container good. I'm not kidding, we've had actual family arguments about who ate the last of the pie. The Arnold Palmers are huge and the perfect refreshing treat after a long, hot day. The Patty Melt Burger is just as good as it gets and the flavor off that griddle on the grilled cat fish is to die for. They're closed on Wednesdays, found that one out the hard way ;-) but omg... SOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOD. SERIOUSLY DO NOT LEAVE THIS PLACE WITHOUT TRYING THE PECAN PIE.

    Binnie burger!!

Pretty damn good burger. Beverlee was so nice and friendly. I drive past here on route and today I was able to have the pleasure to finally eat here. I'd be coming here everytime I'm in Tow Texas.

Best burger in Texas. Every bit of the food is the way it should be. Super flavorful food, and some of the most friendly folks in Texas.

Great food, even if we were surrounded by options, the food here would be worth going for.

An elderly, mobility challenged couple parked at the front of the restaurant. The wait staff rushed out and assisted them to a table. Don and Barbara are regulars...I talked to them a bit on my way out. The care I saw happen there talks about the heart of America. It's not the politicians that make this country great...It's the people! It's service like this, that goes above and beyond. It's small, neighborly businesses where the customers become family. It's GOOD people that make this country great. ...And good food only makes it that much better! My meal choice for today was the large Chicken Fried Steak, with green beans, mashed potatoes, cream gravy, roll and sweet tea...your quintessential, thoroughly satisfying, Texas style comfort food. The steak portion was BIG! Big enough that I have AT LEAST one more fine meal coming from the leftovers. The mashed potatoes were smooth, drenched in a generous portion of delightful cream gravy. The DG style green beans are unique and were delicious. The roll was fresh and melt in your mouth good. As for the sweet tea... Well... Let's just say that it was just right! The smoke free restaurant is clean and spacious with plenty of seating. The friendly wait staff stays on the move attending to customer's cups of tea, coffee and sodas. The kitchen gets meals out quickly. The table bussers are meticulous and quiet. Outside, the parking lot has plenty of handicapped access spaces and free general parking galore...with lot's of room for rancher's truck's and trailers. I only have one complaint. In my book, breakfasts like theirs should be available all day long. LOL. Dang good stuff! Friday night is all you can eat catfish. When I want catfish, this is my goto. The fish is tender, succulent fillets and the beans and hush puppies are to die for. If You want a truly satisfying meal at a price that won't break your wallet, the The Dam Grill is right where you need to be. Just sayin'.

We love discovering new places to us. After a great weekend in Fredericksburg, we find the Barrel House. The southern cuisine on the sign sold it even before we sat down. I'm a big fan of Cajun and creole cooking. We started with the fried boudin balls and gator bites, both were excellent fried to perfection with just a hint spicy bite. I had the chicken fried steak with eggs and hash browns. Steak was tender enough to cut with a fork, and was on point. Cynthia had the breakfast burger which she said was cooked to perfection as well as crispy along the edges. A great meal along with great service which allowed us to get back on the road and headed home with full stomachs. A full stomach and a Dateline podcast made those three hours a little more bearable

When we came in the woman who seated us tried to walk us through what was and wasn't available that day which was poorly presented and left us a bit confused. Asked our server and her description was hard to follow as well. Put in our order and the chips and queso were great. Fish tacos were good as was chicken fried steak and tender plate. My eggs were over cooked and my steak way undercooked for medium rare. Flavor on the steak was great though. Spent most of the meal wishing the server would bring more water. Certain this place can be better than our experience but this time was more off than on.
