Bill has replaced locks and improved security for my two homes and my in-laws' place. He arrives when scheduled, does amazing work, is generous with helpful advice and is very courteous. Prior to discovering Bill by a referral, I was burned by a shady locksmith I found by searching by online map. A service that claimed a local address and company name sent an unlicensed person in an unmarked car. He removed all of my locks, put them in his car and then informed me it would be $500 to do the replacement. I was too frightened to even file a police report. I had two different types of locks in my new house and I wanted to consolidate them and re-key three doors. I called on a Saturday, Bill responded later that afternoon and I set up an appointment. It was nice to be given an actual time as opposed to a half-day window. With Bill's advice, I decided to purchase my own front door knob and deadbolt. Emily arrived on-time and was very courteous. Truly better than I expected. I have a 100+ year old house with a front door thumb lock mechanism that I thought would truly have to be replaced-even though it's beautiful. I called Bill's Lock and he was able to restore it. He was careful, efficient and positive. He re-keyed our deadbolts as well and they work better than they ever have. He even called to check up on whether the cat could go out (it could). It can be hard to get someone to help with vintage house issues, so I was extremely pleased with these results. I recently bought a home in North Seattle and was given only one key for a home that had multiple locks. I called and Bill saw me at my new home the very next day. In an hour I had three new sets of keys for the locks. I only needed one key for every door, and an additional key for a dead bolt. Great experience! I bought a new house that had a different key for every lock (six of them!). I made an appoint with Bill's Lock & Key to come out and re-key all the locks to the same key. He showed up right on the dot, actually three minutes early! He has a complete locksmith shop in his van and he proceeded to efficiently re-key all my locks, and he even corrected the installation of one deadbolt that the previous owner had installed wrong without charging me.
