I got scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries & toast. Hubby got same with over medium & added banana pecan waffle. We didn't care for the potatoes, wanted them crispy so they were cooked longer & then dried out, it is hard to get potato grilled on flat top done the way we like them. Hubby said waffle was good. Toast comes unbuttered & hubby's butter didn't melt. Plus if you want real butter, remember to ask for it. Up charges for a lot of items. A lot of people waiting when we went in but we got seated quickly. Had to ask several times for coffee & tea refills. Small glasses for water which was gone in one gulp! read more

My wife and I rode our motorcycles about 40 miles to Billy's Cafe in Tavares for breakfast and what a disappointment. We both had omelettes, mine was sausage and cheese my wife's was spinach and cheese, hash browns and toast. The cheese was chewy and the sausage was scarce. My wife had the same issue with the cheese in hers. The hash browns were saturated in cooking oil enough that we had to put a napkin under them to soak up the oil but that didn't remove the residual oil taste. The toast was cold, chewy and not buttered. There was whipped butter on the table but due to the cold toast it just sat there. The server was also less than pleasant and we had to wait an unreasonable time for coffee refills and the check. We usually have numerous friends ride with us for Sunday breakfast and Billy's would have been an embarrassment. I want to add we had eaten there about a year earlier and the food wasn't great then either but thought time would have allowed them to improve. We were wrong. read more

Was a wonderful little breakfast spot. Your typical diner with only breakfast served there. Amazing coffee and fluffy eggs. Not the best quality food you will ever eat, but delicious nonetheless. Mostly an older crowd, but that is part of the charm. Will definitely be back when I'm craving amazing fluffy pancakes. Only bad thing is that the home fries are under cooked and the "specialty pancakes" are just regular pancakes with fruit thrown on top. Everything on the menus is definitely stuff you could easily make at home. Just nice to have it served to you and someone else does the dishes. read more

I thought it was strange the way the menu listed pancakes with bananas or some other fruit. When they came, I realized it's because they don't cook the fruit in the batter, they just throw cut up fruit on top. The crepes are just pancakes rolled around canned pie filling. The Greek salad with chicken was a very small dish of iceberg lettuce, peppers, tomatoes, canned sliced black olives, some feta, and what tastes like unseasoned boiled chicken. It came with 3 small wedges of pita bread. Even the home fries that people rave about are undercooked with no seasonings. It's probably much better if you stick to basic eggs and toast. read more

Havent visited here in a long time. We went last weekend. While the food wasnt bad, they sure didnt try to wow. It was hot, but my omelet was runny and eng muffin was a stone. I remember a much better experience in the past. We will go again, maybe. read more

Well anyone who has been here knows that this place is the bomb. Breakfasts are crazy good. They have it all.....Crepes, omelettes, pancakes, frenchtoast, waffles, blintzs. Lots of whipped cream and diced walnuts and pecans on your breakfast. Lunch is not as busy as breakfast. They dont have a deep fryer so french fries are out for lunch. Many people have to have fries for lunch so they are losing business due to that fact. Lunch is great none the less. Clean, spacious, well lit and lots of parking. Found this place a few weeks ago and have been coming every weekend! It's a great breakfast cafe, and a very nice "mom and pop" feel inside. It does get very busy for breakfast but after being seated and having our orders taken, the food comes out fast. Very good breakfast, never had the lunch here. The only negative thing is they don't seem like they have enough employees for the crowd they get, so the service can be slow because of that. Expect to get your food right away, but you might wait on everything else. read more

all I have to say is quaint little place nice friendly little star and any breakfast you choose is enough to see for 4-5 people..... my favorite is the pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream out of this world and the vegetarian omelette oh so good! read more

The staff was very rude. I asked for a omelette with the onions cooked, but the onions were raw. The omelette had a very bad odor the odor made me gag as soon as I smelt it. They were giving dirty looks to my grandmother and I. We didnt eat the omellet, but they still charged us for it. There were very many potatoes that were hard in the middle. Eggs were perfect. Kids loved their waffles with various fruit. Bacon was crisp. Coffee was smooth.
